  1. Aww crap, sorry I didn't see the SFA disscusion thread already had this..
  2. Six Flags America has a facebook page promising "A HUGE announcement is coming". Notice the use of all capps, that makes it even bigger than huge. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=44866755938 Any speculations? Hopefully Ultra Twister.... I really want to ride a pipeline... but I guess Led Zeppelin is a possibility, and it'd be good for the park to have a B&M.
  3. Yeah I pretty much agree, Rim Runner was fine for a coaster, but when you have an indoor park, you can't expect to have expansions and not take anything out. I'm glad their expanding, and it was probably necessary to make room. Plus Gerstlauer spinners are perfect for indoor parks, small and compact, yet awesomely fun and family friendly. YAY Gerstlauer!!!!
  4. Nah, it’s also because of all the deep dish pizzas. Its thick doughy deliciousness is a result of high concentrations of anti-matter.
  5. Using long division, scientist can prove the existence of anti-matter, but only in Chicago.
  6. Well, yeah I understand he wasn't referring to the actual animation produced, but Disney’s process of making it. I just can’t pass up an opportunity to talk about how awesome animation is
  7. I sort of disagree, I think that the animation style back then wasn't efficient in comparison to today's standards, however it was still indescribably revolutionary and, in my honest opinion, was the single greatest breakthrough in the history of moviemaking. The team that Disney organized to create cell animation produced some of the greatest works of art mankind has ever collaboratively created. Snow White, Bambi, Cinderella, Aladdin and the Lion King are absolute visual masterpieces, and I’m not just saying that to butt-kiss to the people who think I’m an idiot because of my opinions on Disney. So, sure there were kinks in the animation process, but for the time period Disney made it as glamorous as it got. It wasn’t their fault they couldn’t use women for allot of the process, it was the programs that wouldn’t accept them. If they had been able to get the proper training, I’m sure Disney would have used women for more tasks, because Disney needed as much help as they could get. Traditional animation is one of the most tedious and time consuming art forms, and I know from experience. It was an amazing achievement for the animation team to even make full movies back then, but to make them at the level of detail and aesthetic quality Disney’s animation team did is something that is not only glamorous, but absolutely incredible.
  8. I used to read EGM all the time, even when I started to rarely play games, but my subscription ended like two years ago and I didn't renew. It didn't seem reasonable to have a magazine about something I wasn't very interested in anymore. Plus they started doing really immature things; specifically a certain page in an issue about Kingdom Hearts 2 which had left readers angry for a long time and in my opinion was just a really dumb decision to put in the magazine. I think regular readers from two years ago will know what I’m talking about.

    Cedar Point 09

I’ve done loops centered on Cedar Point for two years now, and it's definitely a great way to plan a road trip, there’s tons of possible options, it's depends on where you want to end up and the length of the trip. Last year I went Hershey, Knobles, Kennywood, Cedar Point, Waldameer, Darien Lake then Canada’s Wonderland, but the year before I went from Geauga Lake to Cedar Point, then down to Kings Island, SFKK then Holiday World. The Midwest area is an extremely easy and great place to plan a road trip around, so you shouldn’t have to much trouble, but here’s some tips, I’ve done this the past 3 years. -Kennywood is a great park, but make sure you find a hotel in the outskirts of Pittsburgh, or else you'll end up like me, searching for a hotel at 12 at night, getting lost in the never ending maze of roads and steel mills that makes up Pittsburgh and eventually finding the only hotel with vacancy which is an overpriced Marriott in the middle of the city and spending about 200 bucks more for the night that you wanted to. -If you want to do SFKK, definitely do Holiday World in the same day because SFKK can be fully enjoyed in less than 2-3 hours, and Holiday World operates on a different time zone, meaning you get an hour more at the park before closing. -If you want to see the falls on your way to Canada’s Wonderland , skip Marine Land. The park is a complete tourist trap, and theirs basically one credit and a bunch of generic flats with animals and aquariums thrown around. If your looking for a quick park around the falls do Martin’s Fantasy Land, because it’s much cheaper and has a great woodie. -Stay at KI’s Great Wolf Lodge if you can. It’s probably the best indoor water park resort vie been to and you can also easily find some combo deal with KI since they have some sponsorship or something.

    ACE

I got my renewal letter right on time today! But I’m probably not going to renew, it's not worth 60 bucks a year for 4 short magazines with color pictures and some newsletters with information I knew moths before. With TPR, I don't need ACE.
  11. Knights Of Cydonia- Muse It's sort of funny; the Taiko Bounce Emoticons in the little box are bouncing to the beat of the song.
  12. I hope there can be some sort of video contest again. I have a Cedar Point video that I worked real hard on and I wanted to enter it in TPR video contest. I’ve been sort of looking forward to it. It'd be really cool though if TPR TV had some sort of voting feature to make the contests easier.
  13. M.I.A. third world democracy, yeah I got more records in the K.G.B.
  14. Wow... A mini GG woodie...I was surprised by the size at first, but not, however disappointed. This looks like a perfect addition to a tiny family park like this. It's not fast, tall or really intimidating so kids and adults will not be hesitant to ride, but get all the amazing airtime and turns true coasters can offer.
  15. ^ I can't stand the people who worship him like he's a supernatural being. He even calls himself and illusionist, meaning he performs ILLUSIONS, not miracles. Yeah he does cool stuff, but if you aren’t plain stupid you have to realize he's a product of television, not heaven. Theres a catch, even if it is really amazingly executed and well thought out.
  16. I was reading this same article this morning in the Wall street Journal, and it was the perfect way to start of a day. I started laughing at first when they called LZ "a state of the art corkscrew coaster" but then the part about Eagles being a traditional woodie made me almost die laughing. Wallstreet journal editors have to check every single fact about stocks and economic things, yet they can't even figure out the difference between a mine train and a traditional woodie.
  17. Correct me if i'm wrong, but Togo went out of buissnes years ago. Yeah, I think it was over the KBF Windjammer lawsuit.
  18. So how does Bandit compare to Fujiyama, other than having a massively shorter wait? Bandit looks like it packs in a ton of speed and power after the massive drop, compared to Fujiyama's 5 MPH turns, but then again I’m basing this off looks so my opinion doesn’t mean anything… I'd love to hear from someone who's ridden both.
  19. Agreed. Marine Land will achieve steady revenues as long as Niagara Falls remains a global tourist spot. They don't need any thing new, especially LZ, which would also take ten years to build. I think Marine Land’s greatest investment was the giant red sign next to the casinos that says “let’s all go to Marine Land!”
  20. Can you confirm that it's a pinfari model?
  21. Hey, at least it's an actual word! Firefox stopped working on my computer so I don't have an easy spell checker right now, and since internet explorer blocks pop-ups from every source, I can't use the TPR one!
  22. It's not a bad thing, in fact from the view of the economy it's probably a good thing (biased on the fictional depiction of the future in the movie Idicoracy where everyone in the world shops at Costco) But anyway, Going to Costco is an experience, especially the first time. When i first went i was amazed at how big everything is, and how they sell Lucky Charms in refrigerator boxes.
  23. Do the nicer/bigger parks like BGE, KD, SFGAdv and Hershey a day at a time and get as much out of them as you can, only with GADV I'd advise you to go during a weekday and get there as early as humanly possible to join in the human stampede, however run though the little door in the arcade and you'll be the first to El Toro no doubt. Then you can probably ride it 6 or 7 times without waiting. With SFA though I'd advise you to go for half a day if you have a SF season pass, or just buy a starlite ticket after 5. It's not that great a park, but you can grab a few credits, along with an awesome woodie ( Wild One) and a decent Intamin hyper. Dorney is also a good place to do half a day because there's almost never any lines, even on weekends. If you visit Dorney I'd advise you to go on a Saturday, so that you don't have to visit other crowded parks then. Oh yeah, i forgot. Don't waste ANY time in Hershey's Boardwalk. Even with the "Seaqule" it's still an epic concept and design failure trying to squeeze a full scale waterpark in an area barley large enough to hold an average coaster. You'll find yourself waiting for hours just to go on average water park rides. If you want water rides stay at Dorney longer and do WWK, because it has tons of slides and is free with admission, or if not go to Water Country USA at BGE. If you want the credit though, do Roller Soaker in the morning, after Fahrenheit of course. But don't get the wrong impression with my Boardwalk rant, Hershey is an AMAZING park, I just wouldn't spend any of my time there in a tiny, crowded, distinctly average water park. You'll enjoy yourself much more in the "real" park.
  24. Yep, Same exact one. I've been to the King of Prussia one too and it sucks. Thanks, He's quite a punk with his flat top DC hat. He loves to grind ramps on his BMX... yo
  25. Has anyone else thought of the possibility for the buyer of Eagles to contact Vekoma and have the ride modified into two different coasters that can go to two different parks that need mine trains? It's basically just two mine train layouts connected with a little modification, who says that that same modification can't rip it in half? Personally I think that could easily be done and would benefit a park chain almost twice as much as it would as a single coaster.
