  1. Awesome! Thanks for a look into a park not many of us has seen. --Robb
  2. ^ You should find out by EMAILING DAN!!! mrt0ad13@aol.com You can even ask him "Hey Dan, is AOL dead?"
  3. ^ Not only did he not read the thread, but he didn't even bother to scroll down to see the Harry Potter thread was just about 1/2 way down the page with all the information he would need: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35993 This one didn't even require using the forum search! --Robb
  4. It really is. And I'm not just being biased (ok, I'm being biased!) But so many of the "TV Production Companies" use rigs that are degined for automobiles, not roller coasters! And so often I see a crew that knows nothing about a coaster mount a camera to a peice of shakey fiberglass or somewhere on the train that isn't going to provide a smooth image. We shot footage on probably at *least* 50 coasters this year! I don't think there is a single production company out there that shoots more footage on roller coasters than TPR does. That's why we're the best at it! --Robb
  5. Yeah, keep sending him emails. There really isn't a reason NOT to! Let's mix things up a bit more...send him an email suggesting that he put his junk in a blender! mrt0ad13@aol.com
  6. Have you been on it since they installed the more "butt hugging seats?" I've found the new seats to be a LOT more comfortable on the junk. --Robb
  7. I'm ready to put this into development. I'm thinking this would need to be VERY simple. It would basically live as a link from the games forum. We need a name for it - "TPR Games Index" "TPR Track Index" "TPR Games Park Index" "TPR Game Files" I have no idea. Tell me what you think. I see it being a link that you click - www.themeparkreview.com/games/gamefiles.php And it brings up a list of files, the type of file, the game they work with, who created them, and when they were uploaded So for example the default list would be formatted like: Anaconda - Track File - RCT2 - Robb Alvey - 9/11/2001 Busch Gardens Tampa - Park File - RCT3 - Robb Alvey - 9/11/2001 Glory Hole: The Ride - Track File - No Limits - Robb Alvey - 9/11/2001 When you click that file it will take you to it's page with a download link and up to 4 screen shots. The format would look like this: Park or Track Name (or whatever else this file might be) Game Author Date Uploaded Download Link Screenshot #1 Screenshot #2 Screenshot #3 Screenshot #4 And then of course on the main page you can sort by: - Game - File Type - Park Name - Ride Name - Author - Date Uploaded Matt, what I need to know from you is.... - Are there any other categories we need to add? - What games should we support? - What file types do we support? Do we limit to tracks and parks or should we have an option for scenery as well? - How many characters should we limit for park name and/or track name - Anything else you can think of?
  8. Post the link! I'd love to see the TR also! --Robb
  9. Just for the hell of it I looked up how many SLC's and Batman's I've been on... Apparently I've been on 27 different SLC's (looks like one of every model) and 11 of the 13 Batman's that were produced. For some reason if feels like I've been on a LOT more SLC's! --Robb "Not sure why..." Alvey
  10. ^ That's for posting the opening night review! Even though it's not all "wow, amazing" it actually still gets me VERY excited for the event! --Robb
  11. Now to change things up a bit! EMAIL DAN SOMETHING RANDOM!!! Click the email link and type in the first thing that comes to your mind! Email link: mrt0ad13@aol.com
  12. No, just Dan! --Robb
  13. EMAIL DAN SOMETHING RANDOM!!! Click the email link and type in the first thing that comes to your mind! Email link: mrt0ad13@aol.com
  14. Dan tells me he has not recieved enough emails yet. The first 25 people who watch the video and send Dan an email to vote will get a bag of crap! BE SURE YOU INCLUDE YOUR MAILING ADDRESS IN YOUR EMAIL TO DAN!!!
  15. I'm not surprised. Happy they park is opening? Of course! But the park is built for this, it seems to happen at least once a year (sometimes twice) so I had no doubt they would get everything back up and running again. Like someone already said "Pressure washers work miracles!" --Robb
  16. We have a thread about the SFOG flooding here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52535 This thread is to discuss the Deep South trip. If you would like to discuss the SFOG flooding, please do it in that thread. Thank you! Now, back on topic... Did you all watch the Screaming Match video? --Robb
  17. ^ Wow! Flattered! --Robb
  18. Our final day in Japan... The next morning we found ourselves standing in a line for a bus that will take us to Rusutsu Resort! Better get comfy...this is a two hour bus ride! (Three in traffic on the way back) I see a volcano in the distance! I'm not sure what this is, but it makes me nervous! Rusutsu had this amazing event going on that included Japanese cowboys and lots of MEAT! Yummy charred animal flesh! No, that is not a cemetery, those are rows and rows of Bar-be-Ques!!! That's right! You get some raw animal flesh and then you char it up yourself! Yum! Ick...long lines. One train operations. Not as bad as Fuji-Q, though, it kind of reminded us of that park. Yay! Moving walkways! Magic Mountain could totally use one of these. The park setting is amazing looking. The coasters are just "ok" if not a bit "meh" (The shuttle loop and the Ultra Twister were awesome though) and the operations leave a bit to be desired. It took us just over 5 hours to get all 8 credits. Which isn't horrible, but it's not outstanding either. This was the star attraction of the park! "But it's just an Ultra Twister...right?" WRONG! This is the Ultra Twister with a DIVE LOOP! Yes, this was totally insane! Next up..the shoe coaster! "Hey everyone...I'm riding in a shoe. Isn't that just wacky?" The shuttle loop was the second best ride in the park. It's identical to the one we rode a few days earlier at Sendai Highland, but still, it was very intense! Next up was what we called the "box coaster." It loooked like you rode in a box! The line for the Jet Coaster was long and the ride was lame! Togo Stand up which actually hurt us in bizarre ways. Train for the shuttle loop...yummy! Ugh, and an SLC. Not one of the better ones either. Hey Kids! A message from DARE! Don't buy beer out of the vending machine in Japan until you're 20! Oh, yeah, and Jeff Johnson's family was in town as well. That night, we made another stop for more Yakitori! "...and more beer!" "See everyone! I eat normal food too!" "They put us in the area where Westerners are normally not allowed...they felt REALLY sorry for us!" "This is the best farewell dinner ever!!!" Next day we had to fly home. And in the store they sold USB humping dogs! hump...hump...hump...hump.... Oh, look, Hello Kitty...in Japan??? I don't believe it! And all the flavors of Kit Kats you could ever imagine. Apparently you cannot bring sea turtles or armadillo's on the plane. Hey! Now we know why that Tatsu station looks a bit like a McDonalds! Boooooo to coming home. Now that we're back at home and back to reality we'll start to put together even more updates and videos from this trip. We are even considering a Roller Coasters in the RAW DVD that would feature "wacky coasters of Japan!" Basically all the Jet Coasters you could ever want (and probably some cool Japanese coasters too.) Would anyone be interested in that? If so, we'll get right on it! Anyway, hope you all enjoyed reading these updates! --Robb
  19. I have artwork from Psyclone hanging in my bathroom which I can look at while I take a dump. --Robb
  20. I rode my first "Batman" 15 years ago. At the end of the ride I was like "OMFG WOW!" 15 years later at the end of a Batman ride I'm usually still all "OMFG WOW!" When I ride an SLC, I'm usually all "OMFG OW!!!" --Robb "One letter makes a HUGE difference!" Alvey
  21. I've updated the track listing on page 1 today. --Robb
  22. They are right here... That Viking eating machine sure did get a lot of food in 2008! --Robb
  23. Our final park of the trip was Six Flags Over Georgia. And what a way to end the trip! That basically did a mini-version of one of TPR's "Bash" events including some amazing ERT (both morning and night on 5 different rides!) We even had a great backstage tour, a group meal, Gold Q-Bots for everyone in the group, and a presenation by the park management which included this incredibly awesome "old school" film about the park! Anyway, enough babbling, onto some photos and LOTS of videos! Enjoy.... Six Flags Over Georgia – the final day of the Deep South Trip, and a perfect way to end our trip! Let’s start the day on Acrophobia – a ride that will challenge your manhood! Ok, guys, rumor has it that Acrophobia has a very different effect on men than women. Are you ready to test this theory? On the left – well, that doesn’t appear to be a satisfied face! On the right – pleasure, bliss, and “gimme a cigarette!” “We don’t care what this ride does to our manhood…we LOVE it!!!” Next up for ERT – a flaming coaster! Look like fun? Sure it is! Want some POV? Sure you do! How about in *HIGH DEF* Here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wr1itimTzg0 OMG! HD Scorcher!!! What’s this? More ERT? No lines? Gotta love it! This is why TPR trips are AWESOME!!! Did we tell you guys about the mayonnaise hoses on the lift hill? If the only two people on a coaster are twins is it considered a solo ride? Hello Flash Pass! You make our awesome day even awesome! Or give it more awesomeness… or something like that. Hey guys! Check out my Monster Mansion T-Shirt! (Hey, hey you! STOP LOOKING AT THE RACK...LOOK AT THE SHIRT!!!!) That’s right…Monster Plantation has been re-made into Monster Mansion. But don’t you worry, this is such an awesome makeover that even Ty Pennington is jealous of it! Everything you loved about the original ride is still here and lots of extras have been added. Thankfully, humans are still allowed. All your favorite characters still live in the Mansion. and these guys really know how to party! Want to see some video of the ride? Of course you do! [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Monster_Mansion_Internet_TPR_ek70[/coastertube] Everyone say thank you to Erik Johnson for the video! Mmm...lots of Monster Merch! Go buy some! Six Flags Over Georgia was kind enough to take us on a backstage tour which covered most of the park! We saw lots of plants in their landscaping department. Six Flags is “SAFE!” We got to take photos in areas normally off limits to guests. Hung out with Mr. Mindbender. (Doesn't his hair look great! Must be all that gel.) We did a group Hunchback of Notre Dame impression. Checked out the employee arts and crafts. Took more rare photos... And then partied down with Mr. Six! What a GREAT afternoon! Now that the tour was over, lets get back to RIDING COASTERS!!! Oooh! I can squash lots of bugs, pig scrotum, and rabbit turds into this machine for a yummy breakfast shake! We are credit whores. FEAR US! Thank you Flash Pass for allowing us to skip by all those kids! “I’ve never seen hair so crunchy before! OMG! You're ADDICTED TO THE SCHWARZKOPF GEL!!!” One of these three is just slightly mentally challenged. Can you guess which one? “What is that odd sensation I’m feeling ‘down there???’” It’s the most action Robby has ever gotten! RANDOM VEKOMA PHOTO!!!! And now, Wheelie fans, get your tissues ready...we will present to you WHEELIE THE DOCUMENTARY!!! In total standard definition... [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Sequence_01_anxt[/coastertube] Thanks to CTU Agent for posting it...I think! “Wheelie on Flash Pass! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!” Twincest on the Wheelie!!! Ick!!! Hot Wheelie Action. “I swear I had NOTHING to do with Foghorn’s disappearance!” Enough silly photos! More roller coaster riding! "It hurt, but it was good...but it did hurt!" What can we say...it's a classic! Obligatory cute KidTums photo! Thomas Town…ROCK!!! They totally need to haunt Thomas Town during Fright Fest! While they cleared the park for our night ERT, we got to see the most awesome old-school movie EVAR! We saw amazing 70’s haircuts and bell bottom pants! Kendall sent her love to all the TPR members...and this made us all very happy. Brad handed out surprises in little white boxes. And yes, inside the box was a little bit of his love too! Wow!!! TPR Takes over Mindbender!!! (What amazing hair you all have! Must be the gel...) Mindbender got a little bit of a makeover this year… And of course we thought it was soooo clever how Schwarzkopf hair gel sponsored the Schwarzkopf roller coaster! (Wait, what do you mean that wasn't planned on purpose?) And Now, in an effort to "capture a moment" that really can only be fully appreciated by the people who attended this trip, I bring you "The Screaming Match! Theme Park Review Versus the Mind Bender Crew!" Watch this video and vote for a winner.... [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=screamingmatch_final_as9v[/coastertube] To vote for a winner...EMAIL DAN! mrt0ad13@aol.com “Bryan…think of Adam naked!!!” “AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!” The Mindbender crew sends this VERY important message to all of Theme Park Review: “Bend your mind, not your hair!” “I couldn’t bend my hair if I wanted to.” We ended the night and the trip with an amazing ERT session on Goliath! THANK YOU TO SIX FLAGS OVER GEORGIA AND ALL THE PARKS INVOLVED WITH THE DEEP SOUTH TRIP! And oh, yeah...one more video! Goliath POV! Enjoy!
