  1. ^^ There is probably no chance you'll get a refund, but Southwest IS very good at allowing you to keep that credit towards another flight without ANY penalties, which is good! Most airlines will charge $50 to $100 if you want to change your flight, whereas at least Southwest lets you keep the full fare amount and use it towards another flight. So if you want your money back, I wouldn't count on it, but at least you CAN use that money towards another flight. --Robb "Just used up something like $400 in SW credit!" Alvey
  2. http://www.nydailynews.com/boroughs/story/329612p-281707c.html What is it with NEBRASKA getting all this stuff?!?!? --Robb "I'm telling 'ya, that state is going to be the theme park capital someday!" Alvey

  4. ^ I feel the same way, man.... --Robb "Alien Encounted gave me another reason to go to MK!" Alvey
  5. ^ Welcome to the boards! I'll be in Portugal next week. Too bad I don't have any days that I can make it up to Spain and get to some parks. =( Oh, well, we'll make it to those parks sometime soon! --Robb
  6. ^ Holy crap that thing is cool! Yeah, the nice thing about having all those emulators on the XBOX is that they are all in one place, and play GREAT (especially all the MAME stuff) on your TV set. The bad thing is when you need a specific controller, like the paddles to play Kaboom! Luckily, one of the guys at Activision (the guy who did the anthologies) still has his 2600 hooked up so when I need a fix for the real thing I just go down the hall! I have a 2600 and about 30 games in my office, but it hasn't been hooked up in years. =( --Robb "You'd be amazed at how many of us in the video games industry has more classics on our desks than current systems!" Alvey
  7. ^ WOW! Great site!!!! Believe it or not at one point in the mid-1990s I had pretty much everyone of those damn systems!!! Videos games used to be much more than just a job for me, it was also a hobby....but at least it's still my job! I now play all the classics on my XBOX! --Robb "The highlight of my Atari collecting days is when Rob Fulop gave me an original Cubicolor protoype!" Alvey
  8. LOL!!!! Great captions Tom! "those people in that green train are doomed for the next minute or so..." That sounds SO like us at parks whenever we see a trainload of people on a Vekoma or Togo ride. --Robb "Thanks for posting these!" Alvey
  9. Oh, boy....let's talk about "Classic" arcade games! In a "past life" (pre-coaster enthusiast days) when I was in the hayday of my video game making career, I had a HUGE collection of classic arcade machines. In fact, as of December 1996, I had owned all of the following games at one point or another in my collecting days: Amidar Armor Attack Asteroids Astro Blaster Baby Pac-Man Bad Dudes BagMan Berzerk Black Tiger Blaster (Yes, Joey, it's the Trash Can Blaster!!!) Buck Rogers and the Planet of Zoom Bump & Jump Burning Fight Carnival Centipede Circus Charlie Congo Bongo Contra Crazy Climber Crossed Swords Cyber Lip Deluxe Space Invaders Discs of Tron Domino Man Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr. Dragon's Lair Dynamite Dux Elevator Action Eyes Frogger Galaxian Golden Axe Gorf Gunsmoke Guzzler Hypersports Jack the Giant Killer Journey Jump Bug Jungle King Karnov Kick Kicker Krull Ladybug League Bowling Legendary Wings Life Force Mad Planets Major Havoc (The Adventures Of) Make Trax Mappy Metro Cross (Part I) Mikie Moon Cresta Moon Patrol Mousetrap Mr. Do Ms. Pac-Man Nam 75 Nemesis Nibbler Omega Race Pac-Man Pandora's Palace Pengo Phoenix Popeye Power Instinct Q*bert R-Type Rally-X Reactor Robotron 2084 Roc 'N' Rope Rolling Thunder Rush 'N Attack Satan's Hollow Scramble Shinobi SilkWorm Sinistar Space Duel Space Fury Space Invaders Star Castle Star Wars Street Smart Stunt Cycle Subs Super Cobra Super Spy Super Street Fighter II Turbo Super Zaxxon Tac Scan Tempest Time Pilot Top Gunner Track and Field Tron Tutankham Vanguard Venture Wacko Warrior Wizard of Wor World Heroes Xenophobe Yie Ar Kung Fu Zaxxon Zookeeper Zwackery I miss collecting all those arcade games and restoring the cabinets and stuff. But hey, now I do coaster DVDs as a hobby instead! --Robb "How many games on that list do YOU remember???" Alvey
  10. ^ Sorry, for some reason I totally missed most of page two of this thread! --Robb "Who knows Disneyfan can always give us accurate WDW information!" Alvey
  11. Well, a clone of the Scandia Screamer could be their start! http://www.theomahachannel.com/news/4741741/detail.html The funny thing is, if this gets built, this will be the ONLY full-sized coaster in the state!!! --Robb
  12. ^ "Roof Party" just screams "Soren Photo: DR!!!"
  13. ^ Nice PSP you've got there! Have you converted your video segments to MP4's so you can watch them on that awesome screen? --Robb "Congrats Tom!" Alvey
  14. ^^ I can't even think of what the last non-character or movie based attraction would be! Rocket Rods? Captain EO? Think about it, the last few new DL attractions have been: Buzz Lightyear ('05) Winnie The Pooh ('03) Tarzan's Treehouse (although not new IMO) ('99) Honey, I Bored The Audience ('98 ) Rocket Rods ('98 ) Indy ('95) Cartoon Spin ('94) Toon Town Area w/ Gadgets Go Coaster ('93) Splash Mountain ('89) Star Tours ('87) Captain EO ('86) Pinocchio ('83) Big Thunder Mountain ('79) Space Mountain ('77) So yeah, looking at that timeline, It's been a LONG time since Disneyland has seen a major ride that wasn't based on some sort of intellectual property. It's also kind of disturbing to see just how many "dark rides" were built in that time, and the future seems to hold quite a few more! It's also interesting to see how many "E-Tickets" were built between '77 and '89 and how few have been built from '90 onwards. --Robb "But I guess the resort did get a whole new park and Tower as well!" Alvey
  15. ^ We are certainly doing Friday and Sunday, but since we won't be spending a full day at Mt. Olympus, it's hard to set some kind of meeting. I'll post more about the trip in the main board. --Robb
  16. ^ Ahh, there you are...and just in time! I was hoping you'd find this thread and respond to it! Any idea when those machines went in? My guess was sometime between '93 - '96. --Robb
  17. ^ Ahh, yes, I can see it now... "Photo VR: Vasectomy Report!"
  18. You know, I'm am seriously considering giving Soren his own forum for posting all these random photo TR's in!!! --Robb
  19. ^ There is a thread for that: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17664
  20. Fixed the photos. Not sure what happened there. --Robb "Weird internet stuff!" Alvey
  21. Hey there Non-German Tom! Great pics. Elissa and I were JUST talking about this park yesterday as we realized that they got a bunch of Dreamland's old rides. Looking at the pics it looks like the "greatest (or not-so-greatest) hits of the UK parks" collection of rides. Maybe this place is the UK's Astroworld? --Robb
  22. And still, the best Smurf thing ever was on the Colecovision.....
  23. From www.screamscape.com http://www.screamscape.com/html/disneyland.htm (some photos on the site too) I have to be honest, while I'm happy to see the subs getting a new look and re-opening, I do have to wonder "Is this really what the Disneyland audience wants?" I know this park has a LOT more local traffic than WDW, so perhaps the nostalgia of an old classic returning is a good fit for them? --Robb
  24. See this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17621
  25. Kind of useless topic. I don't EVER remember hearing this and I don't like spreading crazy rumors about parks. --Robb "Thread closed." Alvey
