  1. Hey everyone! Our first video from our recent Europe trip is finally DONE!!! And like our last video, it's on preview for the first week for Forum Members ONLY!!! This 7 minute video is the longest one we've ever produced for the website! There was just WAY too much good "Monkey Bars" and "Falken" footage to let it go to waste. I hope you guys enjoy watching Joey attempt the monkey bars over 5 feet of water as much as we did taunting him while we were there! The footage of the park came out great too thanks to them letting us walk the lift of Falken to get some amazing shots of the coaster! Anyway, I hope you guys all like the new video. Keep an eye out for a HUGE photo update and more new videos from our Europe trip to be posted soon!!! NOTE: The Farup Sommerland video is down free for ANYONE to download! http://www.themeparkreview.com/videos/video.htm --Robb "Looking forward to your feedback on the video!" Alvey
  2. ^ Fixed and fixed! Thanks for the feedback! --Robb
  3. ^ I'm not sure if people who just buy a one day WDW pass actually need to finger the machine or not. But think about it, how many one day tickets do they sell compared to multi-day tickets? Even the locals I know that go to WDW usually buy the Florida Resident Play-Four-Days pass. --Robb
  4. Yeah, I saw that too, but I just figured he meant something else. Obviously the design has to be set in stone if they are laying out markers and stuff for it! I mean, it's always nice to hear stuff from people that work at parks. I really do appreciate the news. But everyone has to remember that 'officially' you can't take anything as fact until you see a press release from the park. --Robb
  5. Exactly. We still have all our opening year DCA sitting in a closet somewhere collecting dust. Even our bags of Millionaire pins are buried somewhere. I think what people don't realize is that when they make something that is 'collectable' how often is it really? It's usually the stuff that no one ever thinks will be worth something that goes for a million bucks! Glad to hear you had a good time. --Robb "The DCA stuff still goes for no money on Ebay!" Alvey
  6. ^ Well, I will be at Thrope before opening at 9:30 and hopefully run to Nemesis Inferno. After that I'm not sure what else I will do! Are they still doing that Fast Pass system for Colossus? --Robb
  7. ^ Thanks for the update. I really do hope that no ride gets the axe. That would be one rumor I'd be happy to see NOT come true! --Robb
  8. ^ LMFAO!!!! I'm sure the people who waited in line all night will appreciate that Derek! --Robb "I certainly do!" Alvey
  9. No, it's not the right castle. We should try to stick to the "Disneyland Castle" since that the whole joke..... "The castle is small....what else could you use it for?" Monopoly piece, fish tank ornament, a mask, a kids coaster, etc, ALL perfect examples! --Robb "Although ANYTHING involving the DL Castle will do!" Alvey

    banners

Hmm...we've never actually made a banner! I guess you can take the one that's up there ^^^ and re-size it or something? --Robb
  11. Wow, that is odd. Anyone else have the problem where photos are coming up blank? --Robb
  12. ^ It's not at Disneyland, it's a Walt Disney World. The scanners have been there for years (maybe someone knows exactly when they started using them) and Sea World/Busch Gardens has been using them for at least a year. It's similar to the scanner you would use when you go to your safe deposit box at the bank: Here are the scanners at WDW. Used to be just for annual pass holders, but now everyone has to use them.
  13. ^ LOL! That's great! Don't forget to submit the avatar-sized version too! --Robb
  14. LMAO!!! These really are the best updates on Theme Park Review! --Robb
  15. ^ But don't forget I'll probably still be able to get to that Vekoma Roller Skater in Lisbon and to Ocean Park in Hong Kong also! --Robb "Looking at about 5 credits or so..." Alvey
  16. Hey everyone! Turns out that this Saturday I have to go on a trip "Around the world" to show off the latest game I'm working on. Because of the way schedules work it turns out I'm going to be in the UK from 11am 28th July to 6:45 29th July which is when I fly in and out of Heathrow. I was thinking about going to Chessington on the 28th from about 1pm - closing, and to Thorpe on the 29th from 9:30am until about 2:30pm (which is when I would need to leave for the airport). Anyone in the nearby area feel like meeting up with me during that time? And can anyone suggest a place to stay that might be close to one of those parks? (also if anyone wants to offer a lift from the airport to the parks, I wouldn't refuse that either!) Hope to see some TPR members in the UK! --Robb
  17. But they have been doing this for YEARS! When I got my first WDW AP back in like 1993 they had this system. Why is it just NOW a violation of privacy??? The reaason being is that the AP's were non-transferable, and they didn't have your picture on them. With the new "Magic Your Way" tickets, it would be very easy to buy a cheap ticket, use 5 days of it, and then sell it to someone else to use the remainder of the 5 days. The only other option I see is having to print your PICTURE on your ticket. IMO, having your PICTURE in Disney's database is certainly MORE of a violation of privacy than your finger geometry. (Remember it DOES NOT take a finger print!) --Robb "It's not like it's a new system they have JUST put into place!" Alvey
  18. Ok everyone, With all the excitement of Disneyland's 50th Birthday, let's do a Disneyland themed avatar contest! So the theme for this week is "Other Uses for the Disneyland Castle!" We all have made fun of the castle over the years due to it's little tiny size, but now it's time to put that small castle to good use!!! What else could it be used for? Door Stop? Paper Weight? It's up to YOU to figure that out! Submit your avatars by attaching them here and we'll let this one run until next Monday or Tuesday. If you want to submit a full-sized image, that's fine, but you ALSO have to submit an avatar-sized one too! Here's some source images for you found on Google Images and our site:
  19. Ok, time to unstick this and move onto our next avatar contest... "Other uses for the Disneyland Castle!" http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=35649 --Robb
  20. http://www.local6.com/news/4724689/detail.html Wow, so I think this might be one of the lamest news stories EVER on a theme park. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd MUCH rather do the fingering method than give the park a bunch of my personal information when I buy a ticket. I mean, they already have your credit card number, and someone can certianly do a LOT more damage with that than your "finger geometry." And BTW, doesn't Sea World and Busch Gardens also have these already in place? Last time I went they did and I had to put my WHOLE DAMN HAND on the machine! Maybe they are going to make clones of human hands and put them on dolphins? Oh, the horrors!!!! --Robb "Why can't the news just leave the theme parks alone?" Alvey
  21. Then you really shouldn't watch any movies at all. Having worked in Hollywood for the past 20 years, I can tell you that just about every major "star" (actor, director, etc) seems to be involved in something fairly messed up! If I chose the movies, games, music I listened to based on the belief's of the talent creating it, I would never leave my house!!!! IMO, it has nothing at all to do with what religion the actor is, it's more about how good a movie is. --Robb "Just giving the reality that pretty much EVERYONE here in tinsel town is equally as screwed up!" Alvey
  22. Here's another thing I just noticed. When did they re-paint It's a Small World back to all white? --Robb
  23. Someone from work just informed me about this interesting site that seems to archive most Disney Theme Park and Attraction music! http://www.subsonicradio.com/ Although I haven't seen much from Tokyo Disneyland, it seems to have quite a bit of Disneyland and Walt Disney World tracks, which is pretty cool, IMO! Enjoy! --Robb
