  1. Ding ding ding, with regards to New York. The traffic does get pretty nasty especially on the Brooklyn Bridge when cops purposely park their cruisers to block a lane, during rush hour. Brooklyn-Queens Expressway can also get tied up, mainly due to the massive amounts of construction that is always happening on that road. Driving through the city is easy as long as you know which streets to use. Basically stay off of 42nd, 34th, and 23rd, and you'll be fine.
  2. Jarvis, just wondering if you ever got my PM regarding the DVD? I sent it out during the whole server fiasco a few weeks ago, so it might've gotten lost in the internets.
  3. I'm with jarmor, I like the old look better. Something about the old vintage look strikes me.
  4. I didn't laugh at all, that was actually really sad.
  5. It has since dropped to 4th behind the Pagani Zonda F, Maserati MC-12, and the Ferrari Enzo. Still an outstanding piece of machinery. It sucks that it's sold as track-only. I would do everything in my power to make it street-legal.
  6. ^ My favorite is Freedom Kissing.
  7. I'm sorry you blame him directly for something he has little to do with. Instead, I believe that anger should be directed to the 4 or 5 people on that airplane. But you're right, it took an attack on home soil to initiate change, and that shouldn't happen - Why wait after half a dozen attacks abroad? Why blame the Bush administration when we could blame the appeasement of the previous administration that let the USS Cole, Riyadh and African attacks go unpunished? I can concede that point, but why not blame both administrations? The attacks in Tanzania and Kenya were solely the responsibility of Clinton but the attack on the USS Cole should still have been fresh in the minds of the Bush Administration when he took office. It was still current events and he should assessed that situation when taking office. I just have never been able to see logic in presidential policies, of any administration. I simply don't know how these things are formulated, that is what mainly disappoints me.
  8. I completely agree with this but at the same time must disagree with how you came to this idea. It is my belief that for the longest time we have ignored any possible preventive measures and only acted when something bad happened. Case and point, the World Trade Center, don't feed me any garbage about the towers because I was there, I watched and felt them crumble to the ground. For four years, I would pass by that giant gaping hole in the ground on my way to school, so please save me from your arguments. Yes, I know that there really wasn't much that could be done to prevent the attacks but the security measures that WERE in place at the time failed. Why did they fail? Because airport screeners were too stupid to deal with their jobs. Sure, that's not Bush's fault, right? Or is it? My view is that the government should expect the worst and do something before the worst happens. When you see a string of attacks that successively hit "closer" to home, attacks on the embassies in Africa and then the attack on the USS Cole, you need to think proactively and envision what could happen next. Some Americans (I said some, so don't go off on me here) get so full of themselves that they see themselves as invincible. NOTHING could ever happen on our soil. Pearl Harbor happened. And the WTC inevitably happened. Why? Because we didn't do anything to prevent it. Only after the attacks occurred did Bush and his puppets get up off their butts and start implementing measures that might prevent future attacks. Now, I do agree that he is getting better in this realm but it is frankly too late. The image of the burning towers will forever be engrained in my mind. The panic of being on the 7th floor of a building and feeling the ground beneath you shaking, the lights above you flickering and a wall of smoke and ash bombard the window next to you will never go away. Bush failed me there. He failed everyone at that point.
  9. The first time I saw this car on Top Gear, watching Jeremy Clarkson's face flap as he quickly and viciously accelerated made me fall in love with the car. When I showed my roommate the video, he fell in love with it. I showed my best friend, he went to their website, configured an Atom, printed out pictures and said, I WILL have one of those. The Ariel Atom is simply an amazing piece of engineering. The base price is below 50K and souped up with some essentials and then some, can remain under 60K. The only issue with having one is people messing it up. My main goal is to get one with the 300 HP Supercharged Civic engine and pull up to some unsuspecting ricer on the roads. Race him and totally annihilate him.
  10. I'm through to 10. In a little jam. "Operator said it" "he was impatient" - title of page "quick quick, don't let me wait" "%SystemRoot%\System32\sndrec32.exe can capture what u hear" I just switched to IE and I can hear a low frequency rumble. I am not connecting these too well.
  11. The thought of snakes makes me cringe. If i were the hamster, I'd get the heck out of there!
  12. Party in my pants, huh? Yay, roller coasters! It's amazing how much the technology has progressed in recent times, it seemed to be at a steady pace for most of the 1900s but only in the past few decades after steel coasters were introduced have the creative minds really put forth some exceptional rides.
  13. According to the Song List it is called "Day Oh." Unless Robb is just messing with our heads.
  14. Pleasant, relieving, and after 18 buffalo wings...PRETTY DARN FRIGGIN SMELLY!
  15. Just watched both videos and I'm impressed. It saddens me though, that some, probably a lot of people are just going to stand in line and not truly take in the breadth and scope of the theming that the Disney Imagineers put into the entire ride, queue included. They will just focus on getting onto the ride. With that being said, the queue looks awesome! I have always loved walking through Disney's queues and this seems like more of the same. Thanks for sharing the videos for us who don't have the luxury of being so close to Disney World!
  16. America is not the world, and it doesn't state, "In America" so nyah. Anyway, I too am in the MF sucks camp. However, seeing as how I haven't ridden it yet (I will soon), I am only basing this on how the layout looks. Sure, the first drop looks and according to many people IS awesome, but it seems to me that the rest of the ride is actually just a bunch of meandering back towards the station through various overbanks and whatnot. I'm hoping that it isn't just "meandering" and packs a punch. However, I maintain my reservations towards the ride.
  17. Dear god! What if you woke up in the middle of the night and that thing was standing over your bed? I would seriously cry like a bitch. Agreed, I would probably also piss myself. That is SCARY!
  18. Otherwise known as a roll over.
  19. I really really like this video Erik. The peaceful slow music goes well with the modest pace of the footage. This was truly a theme park video, not just roller coasters. I also love how you got footage of things that people normally do not, most notably random events with park characters and the Dueling Dragons queue. The ending, well the first one, was perfect. The second ending was just hilarious. Great job!
  20. "Elissa plays the air turntables, while the Lego Bricks break out with some cool hip hop moves"
  21. I got my first semester grades from Chapel Hill last month. Intro to Comp Sci: A English (Comp. and Rhetoric): A- Chemistry Lab: A- Chemistry (Gen. Descrip.): B History (World Since 1945): B- Economics (Micro/Macro): C+ (Glad I'm done with it, evil professor. He was on academic probation for failing too many people) Overall GPA: 3.175 I'm not too disappointed because with Economics it would have been a 3.377 and Economics consumed a large portion of my time. Now it's done and I can move on to next semester which starts next Wednesday. Schedule for that looks like this: Basic Training (Gym Class) MW 6:00-7:50 AM Chemistry 21 MWF 9:00-9:50 AM Comp 114 TR 11:00AM-12:15 PM (Recitation F 11:00-11:50 AM) Language in the USA MWF 12:00-12:50 PM Math 32 (Calculus II) TR 2:00-3:15 PM Chemistry Lab W 1:00-4:50 PM Looks to be an easier semester, however, Math 32 is the most dropped course in the university. Oh joy.
  22. Ding ding ding, we have a winner! Nevertheless, I scored a 1350 on my second time around. 710M/640V. I also took the SAT II Writing Subject Test when they still offered it and scored me a 710 which got me out of a semester of English at Chapel Hill. So, I am proud to say that I am done with English after the first semester of college, WOOHOO!
  23. ^ Let's just be happy they didn't give him a real gun!
  24. http://www.tommyandjames.net/xmas05dwoodpt2.html Check out the last picture for the inverse of the stereotypical Robb & Elissa Pile of Dirt. It's the base for the Topple Tower. That was about two weeks ago so I'm sure they've gotten more stuff done since then.
  25. I've only been to two concerts. First was Grandmaster Flash at a Madrid Club in 2004. Second was my homecoming concert with Common. Both were very cool.
