Why Do You Love Theme Park Review?
coasterboy76 replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Video's Dude!! and it's the TR's and the pictures, all of this make this a great place- that's what I love about TPR -
The first day the Screamin Eagle was opened was so crowded, it was my first big roller coaster and I was scared, I was only 12 years old.. we waited for about 2 1/2 hours and when I finally got to the station after all the climbing, it was so worth the wait. Ahhhh yes Six Flags back in the day! what a thing it was...

coasterboy76 replied to CoasterFanatic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
my favorite ones would have to be the ones with Frank and Bernice! those are great! loved the "Bat" promo, sure funny seeing people wear those old track shorts and tube socks! (us older ones on the board remember those) -
Finally Six Flags Parks Go Smoke Free!
coasterboy76 replied to GAcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
well I am an ex-smoker, so this doesn't bother me, when I was smoking though I never smoked in line, just sitting at a bench. what they really need to get rid of is the beer at the parks too. nothing worse than a drunk on an amusement ride... -
forget it then...

from theme park insider: Six Flags to ban same day reentry? 2006-01-13 By Russell Meyer: It seems that Six Flags is about to make the most insane move in theme park history. While it had started as a rumor, it was discovered that Six Flags New England has added a new policy to its park-specific website that prohibits same-day park re-entry. It has been traditional for theme parks to allow guests to have their hands stamped so that they can re-enter the park that day. However, it appears that the policy has been changed at Six Flags New England, and is rumored to be changing at all of the other Six Flags parks for 2006. Is Dan Snyder nuts? He has been known to nickel-and-dime his customers, but this would be the ultimate insult to theme park patrons. No more leaving the camera in the car, leaving a change of clothes or your lunch in the car, or heaven forbid leaving the parking lot to grab a bite to eat at a slightly more affordable and higher quality restaurant. Those practices may soon be history at Six Flags, and guests will have to bring everything they may potentially need into the park with them and rent a locker to store everything, at an extra charge, of course. Six Flags may have found a way to increase revenue by locking guests into the park with nowhere else to go without having to pay a second admission to get back in the gates of the park, but how many people will just not bother going in if they can't leave to take a rest or change their clothes? guess enough people complained that Mr. "I will make bad moves" Snyder changed his mind

thats odd that they don't work on both, all of my TPR DVD's work on my DVD player and PC. it just might be the DVD Player itself

the first time I rode a coaster, the Runaway Mine Train at Six Flags I was only about, 7 and it scared the hell out of me! for the longest time I wouldnt go on any ride that went high in the air, this included all the rides at my annual school picnic. then in 76, they opended the Screamin Eagle and it looked sooo cool, but the only thing was that it was so big. my sister got me to ride it, and I have loved roller coasters ever since..

Roller Coaster Queues
coasterboy76 replied to kk's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
in my lifetime I have been in some crazy cues, that seemed like they went on for hours and hours.. it's funny, but when I was younger, (in my teens) whenever we went to the park, the lines were always long, it seemed like it was always a minimum of a 1 hour wait for all rides, sometimes longer, and back then there weren't any cue monitors, music, dj's, nothing, we just amused ourselves for however long we waited. now when I go to a park, if the line on a ride looks obnoxious (like Deja Vu always is) I won't wait.. it's not worth it anymore to wait for a couple of hours for a ride that lasts a couple of minutes. I see some of these cues on rides and watch people wait for 3+ hours.. its crazy!!! in 1976 I waited 4 1/2 hours to ride a 2 1/2 minute coaster, it was opening day for the coaster and that was hell, especially when your young and you have a whole park waiting for you.. -
thanks everyone for the link to a Son Of Beast POV... now if someone knows where there is a Great American Scream Machine (wooden) POV let me know..

Magic Mountain Status
coasterboy76 replied to infinitespin's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
that's what I thought when I saw it at MM, then I rode it, and found it to be an extrememly rough ride! I rode it just for the credit anyway. -
A Note About The Hoodies...
coasterboy76 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Whew! just ordered mine! -
Screamin Eagle -- SFSTL-- always sit on the left side, have always done that ever since I was a kid..Im sure that seems strange to some, but I like the way the car moves on a couple specific turns.. and I don't feel it on the right side. other than that, it doesn't matter to me where I sit on a coaster, I have fun wherever I sit!

A Bizarre Coaster Fact
coasterboy76 replied to pagemaster_b's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
it does make a coaster more popular.. years ago a stand up coaster here at Six Flags St. Louis called the Rail Blazer, ejected a rider and that rider got killed, for the short time afterwards when the ride re-opened, it was super popular! everyone had to ride the coaster that killed someone.. its scary how people think.. -
can you post it or put up a link to it?
