That was Awesome! Thank you so much for posting! Yes Anaconda did have 3-6 car trains originally but KD determined it was impossible to run 3 so they made 2-7 car trains. It never actually ran with 3 but on opening weekend (3-22-91) all 3 trains were there and then they made the switch the following weekend. JEFF

I was always under the impression that all of the Drop Zone rides were themed to this movie by Paramount. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109676/ I believe they even refered to the movie in the press releases for the original Drop towers in 1996. As far as XLC it was always rumored all year it was coming down sold or not. I guess they will give it another year. JEFF

For those that have not seen the new sign for I-95 http://coastercrew.com/gallery/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=0&pos=3 According to the website http://www1.cedarfair.com/kingsdominion/attractions/category.cfm?ac_id=13 Italian Job is now "The Backlot Stunt Coaster" And Tomb Raider is "The Crypt" Oddly Drop Zone seems to be keeping its name XLC is still on the site which makes me think it may be around for another year considering the big rumor this whole year was that Labor day would be its last day but it operated till the end of the season. They also advertise Dominator as the 14th coaster which would only hold if XLC stays. JEFF

Some of those are a little over the top for the early 70s but some of those would have been cool, like Yogi's picnic basket and the Flinstones house. I don't really remember any types of "real" theming with the exception of smurf Mtn and Yogi's Cave. Oh yea thanks alot for those pics they were really cool. JEFF

My last ride of the year once again was Grizzly She was running really great this Fall with the exception of a pothole forming on the rise to the 2nd hill. JEFF

DOMINATOR!! Actually IMO it will be the best coaster in VA as long as the brakes are not turned on. JEFF

Hypersonic really pissed me off when it was built. After seeing the prototype's drop and then ours with its 5 ft of vertical drop track and crappy layout, then to top it all off it has to be the roughest steel lapbar coaster in the world. I would rather have a boomerang JEFF

I more than likely took my last ride on Hypersonic on Saturday. (KD Website lists Dominator as the 13th (nevermind they edited it to 14th)) So I guess it is staying for at least another year unless somebody buys it (fat chance). It has actually got worse every time I ride it. On Sat. it didn't even roll back to the catch car (launcher) so even the launch has gone to hell. A very voilent bang when they collided. and still just an awful overall experience. There are many reasons there are only 2! JEFF

From everything I gather it seems like the lift will head towards Beserker and drop towards the parking lot with the entrance being under the 1st drop and the que being inside the Cobra Roll much like how it was at Geauga. It makes the most sense considering they are saying it is located on International Street. JEFF

When I was at Kings Dominion Today, I checked the Gift Shops for Super Sales on Paramount Items and there were not a whole lot of shirts mostly Small and XXXL (Acers not there yet ). I did get a Top Gun Shirt and an Italian Job shirt Both for $5 Awesome! I was on my way out when I saw these 4 tables and a bunch of mechandise sitting around it. I asked what was up. and the employee said Fill this bag for $20 I looked around and thought good deal and this was my haul + 4 Ponchos. $408 worth of crap last year= $25 worth of crap this year! If anybody lives near the former Paramount parks you might want to go by tomorrow to check for sales if that stuff interests you. JEFF shirts 2 for $5 I like these Volcano Snow globes, but I was not gonna pay $15 for 1 all that and 4 ponchos for $20

Took some pics today. Lots more track, 1st drop and lift pieces and brake run have arrived now. Believe it or not there are about 6 homes on a road right behind Volcano and it is Unbelievable how LOUD it is back there. Imagine hearing the Tomb raider theme every 3 mins Blasting less than a block away and then the fire effects on Volcano are very loud too. I guess they do not complain though or they have some great soundproofing. JEFF

I would be happy with the same color just repainted. (that way when it starts to wear and chip it won't look so bad.) JEFF
