  1. ^So, why do they call you Spike?
  2. Mine is awful in the fact that the picture is just plain shoddy, as it was taken through a dirty window at Chessington, however, it's kinda cool in the fact that I'm pretty sure anyone could use it!!
  3. http://www.asovini.com/screamer/e/ Video can be found on that site, along with quite a few other videos.
  4. Yeah, anything that compresses video in the camera before you can even put it on your computer is not a good idea. Tape is still the best way at the moment.
  5. It's called Phishing, a clever way to get hold of gullible people's details. They can spoof email addresses, and even spoof sites, to make them look exactly the same and even have the correct domain name. Basically the companies are saying that they will never send emails like this, so if you get them, it's dodgy, so ignore it. http://www.antiphishing.org/
  6. Haha, yeah that Nemesis spot is very popular, when we were there with the Coasterforce trip in April I was there filming and a big gap appeared in the queue, so the rest of the group just spread out a bit to fill it while I got the shot (which ironically, didn't make the final video!) that's where a group of 30 or so comes in handy! Lovely pictures as usual Dave, I had a good play with the C70 at work, and it's a lovely camera, I went for the C60 myself as it was more compact and (obviously) cheaper. The two Oblivion pictures are very nice, it looks like the lens is really wide, but apparantly it's the standard 38mm. It seems that everyone's thoughts are generally the same about Rita, if you've been across the pond and ridden any of the Rockets there, you'll find it tame, if not, it's the most intense launch ever! I'm glad that I did Xcelerator first, as the gradual increase in launch intensity wouldn't have been as cool as being chucked in the deep end with Xcelerator first!
  7. I'm very new to Premiere and I'm using Premiere Pro. I was just wondering if there's any way to have a clip play at a certain speed, then slow down/speed up to another speed. For example, say you've got a clip of driving down a road, and you've sped it up quite considerably, for that cool look, BUT there's a point in that clip where you point the camera at a roadsign or something, because it's significant, is there a way to have the bit where you point at the sign to slow down, and then speed up again once you're back facing the road. I've been able to chop the video into sections and use the rate stretch tool to slow down the right section, but when you playback the whole thing, the transition between fast and slow is pretty nasty. I think I've seen it done on some coaster videos before, one was Robb's ECO DVD, at Thorpe Park, with the shot down Colossus's heartlines, but I'm not sure if that was a gradual increase in speed which is what I'm after. Thanks!
  8. haha, that reminds me of Friends or something, where you have THE place where you sit, all the time, in the same establishment!
  9. The artist is "Altitude" and the song title is... "Altitude", original eh? It's the SHOKK remix you want aswell, it's a lot harder than the original. For me, I think that would make rush hour less easy to tolerate, as it makes me want to go fast!
  10. Yeah the ride I filmed on was actually pretty poor as a ride, so we went on pretty much straight after, and had another bad ride. It just didn't spin at all
  11. How many did you get last year out of interest? I'm guessing that this year has been a lot more popular.
  12. I remember when I got e-stopped on the brakerun going through the loop on Hulk, we weren't up there long, but when it going again, it crawled through the last part of the circuit. Similar thing with Space Mountain at Disneyland, it stopped on one of the final brakeruns, then all the lights came on, and revealed a pretty miserable looking building! Then three guys came and pushed us off the brakes and we trundled (again very slowly) round the last part of the ride.
  13. I'm in Ipswich, UK, probably one of the worst places for parks in the UK. Closest is Pleasurewood Hills and Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, at about an hour away. Thorpe Park is about 2 1/2 hours away by car. Alton Towers is about 4 hours.
  14. ^Yeah it took me a while aswell, I had to keep resuming it aswell.
  15. That video's excellent, tell your good friend Zaniack, well done from me!
  16. I really like Dive Loops, especially the sort like Kraken's, which is more of a twist and dive, where you climb, then just rotate, and drop. They're much better than something like Scream, where it's essentially just half a cobra roll (albeit enlarged quite a bit) Immelmans (Immelmen?) are pretty cool aswell, especially on Montu where you go up the side of the temple gates, and the two on DD Fire, the second one is pretty crazy.
  17. Yeah, I'll play, I fancy a laugh.
  18. After putting up this post I checked out robs free video clip of nemesis and was upset to see that in your recording the rivers of blood are just water now they must have ran out of people to sacrifice If it's Robb's Alton Towers video, then I believe that that was at least 2/3 years ago. Nemesis did go through a pretty bad time where a lot of the theming stopped working and got a bit neglected, however I'm happy to say that since the beginning of this season, it's all looking lovely again.
  19. I work in a photographic shop and we provide a large inkjet poster service. We can do up to A0 prints on decent glossy paper. I will be getting some done myself very soon.
  20. http://claydon-heights.com/martyn/Videos/RitaOpeningWeekend.zip I made this video of Rita, including a full POV, it's pretty much every shot I got of Rita across the two days we were there at the weekend.
  21. Got this one at the weekend
  22. It's actually slightly bigger, and more plasticy. Still a lovely little camcorder though.
  23. I work in a Camera shop, and yes I prefer digital, but the quality of film is still the best at the moment, a good quality film has the ability to produce prints of up to sixty megapixels. (Not that megapixels is a quality measure of course) I have two digital cameras, a Fuji S5000 for my motorsport shots (high zoom, 10x optical) and an Olympus C60 for park shots, that takes a rechargable lithium battery, like^ said, that's very handy for compactness. I'm not so keen on those Canon A series cameras because they take four AA batteries, whereas most equivilents only take two. Although the new Canon As are now only taking two.
  24. I don't think they should have released all the concept art so early, the great thing about watching TTD go up was that no-one knew how high it was going to be and if indeed it was going to break any records (for a while anyway). Forum threads were huge, with screen grabs from that infamous CedarPoint webcam and looking back on them was great, seeing people's crazy ideas coming out. I remember thinking "how much higher can this thing get??" But yeah, I think if SF kept it secret then we may have followed more closely, although we would have probably been disappointed by now.
