  1. Thanks! I'm glad they fixed it last weekend. It would be a huge bummer if it was an issue they couldn't fix until the off season. This is a good problem to have!
  2. I hope they just keep the disco tunnel. Is it too late to start a petition to save it?
  3. Oh god yeah I'm really not trying to give any attention or fuel to the sinking thing. It's a GP rumor just like Magnum is sinking. It's definitely not a real thing. Please no one take that as a serious rumor
  4. Great report, Chuck! That ice cream looked delicious. It makes for a great lunch on a hot day when you're walking all over a park. You've got some really nice shots in this report, too. Balder looks top notch!
  5. The removal of Vortex had me thinking about how pretty much the entire ride takes place pretty high off the ground. I would never believe it's sinking, but I would believe the stress on every single one of those supports and footers is what is ending the life cycle. Just thinking out loud.
  6. I'd be fine if Six Flags takes over CF if they let the man, Jeff Siebert, take control of the parks! Also, look at how nice Six Flags has been lately. Giving the lead car of Iron Wolf to B&M Who'd change their mind if they could get a piece of Vortex or Firehawk? I'm sure there will be other old favorites they'd take down in favor of YOLO Coasters Here B&M we're uh, giving it back
  7. Granny Apple Fries look amazing! Legoland looks so awesome. I've spent a couple years working with Lego from the Cartoon Network side of partnerships and it's cool to see all of the different brands (Lego Movie, Ninjago, Nexo Knights, Bionicles, etc) have their own real life section of the park. Lego does a great job giving fans a full 360 of content to enjoy - the toys, TV shows/movies, and a dope theme park! The scale and attention is so impressive and the interactions around the park look perfect for kids. Thanks for the report!
  8. So excited to watch this coaster grow! With how in touch they are with animals of all sorts I'm surprised they haven't treated Griffon with some sort of repellent this time each year. That has to exist right? And they're wasps. Wasps bad, bees good.
  9. I recognize these people. They seem like good people. Wow, the park looks fantastic. I don't remember it having the reputation for great landscaping or anything I'm impressed. Although after a quick search it looks like that might have been the focus this year since they hosted the Golden Ticket awards, hah. Too bad the rides weren't the highlight of the park. They look like they have a lot of potential, especially with Tremors featuring all of those tunnels.
  10. Echoing the 'we need parks that look and feel different' sentiment. In the world of companies cannibalizing each other the idea makes me sick but it's not even worth the stress until there's more substance.
  11. Great photos! Pal Pal's setting is really pretty. That log flume looks like a lot of fun!
  12. Raven can't be that bad now. Sure it's been over 10 years since I last rode it, but it was one of the best coasters I've been on. This is a hilarious reply coming from someone behind a site called 'Your Favorite Coaster Sucks'
  13. This news is about a month old, but I just came across the article today. A local chain from Chicago, Beatrix, is coming to Disney Springs! https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2019/08/beatrix-coming-to-disney-springs/ Although it's described as a healthy restaurant, their market with baked goods and coffee features some of the best cookies I've ever had and are widely regarded as some of the best cookies (Oatmeal butterscotch, magic [with marshmallows/frosted flakes/chocolate chips], seasalt chocolate, PB&J etc) you can get in Chicago! I'm sure you will will love this spot as it has something for everyone, it can be as cost efficient or expensive as you want, and it's all really really good. There's always a huge selection of the staple menu items but they offer lots of specials and features which makes going there frequently very easy Here's the page for one of the Chicago locations: https://www.beatrixrestaurants.com/beatrix/river-north/ Nutella fans don't know what they're missing There's something for everyone's taste and diet! Cookie for 1 or 2, you decide! Sometimes a fork and knife are required
  14. Thanks! I couldn't pass it up. They were very friendly walking around as if they were checking out the other animals, too! Almost perfect...Maverick was closed all weekend Apparently the train stuck in the launch tunnel was not being recognized by the computer/ride system and they haven't figured it out. Hopefully it's back today/this weekend. Don't worry hoppedup, I'm going to Japan next weekend You cheeky bastard. I should have phrased that better, vintage as in all of the old old pre 50's CP stuff. There were tons of cool original posters too, like the MF one! Vengeance, CornStalkers, and Millennium and Raptor definitely did! And the surprise of a powerful Power Tower as well. Busy for sure! But ready to park-binge in Japan!
  15. I hope Maverick is back up today! Someone please give me a report if you're going to be there.
  16. The quality of the projections/mapping is seriously impressive. Thanks for filming and posting! I think Gelatoni will be my pick. I hope you like Tower of Terror, Gelatoni.
  17. I hope it's the giga. Kings Island fans wanted a giga and when they got a giga, they complained. Swift justice!!
  18. They need whomever fixed Racer 75 to work their magic on every older wooden coaster in America! Kings Island has a lot of tired old coasters, I'm happy to see the park finally making moves.
  19. What's next? I bet Flight of Fear. Even before Invertigo.
  20. I'll miss it because I grew up with it. Of course this is one of two seasons in my life that I didn't go to KI I'll get over it because to be honest I have skipped it on a handful of visits because yeah it's a jerky old Arrow. The park will definitely experience some love/hate from Cincinnati but in the end people will realize it's 30 some years old and they will do justice when they replace it. Obviously it will take some time due to Orion (easy way to make you forget about an old Arrow!). RIP to that very decent first drop, which for a long time was the only good source of airtime on a coaster at Kings Island until Diamondback showed up
  21. Man the last couple updates have me really missing the USA 2018 trip. Knoebels, KD, Hershey Skyrush's seats are so unique. Looking back at the pictures of the trains the seats to curve up around your hips/thighs, but it sure doesn't feel like it around those turns. The laterals really make you feel like you're being flung off the ride! Phoenix is right there with Skyrush as the most difficult coaster to put your hands up on. I think it took me 30-40 minutes of the ERT on Skyrush to learn the layout and put my hands up the whole time. I miss Skyrush, i305, and Storm Runner! There are so many great coasters in that area of the country. Flats, too. I didn't get to ride Drop Tower as many times as I wanted to since it was my first time at the park. I really enjoyed that one.
  22. Here's my HalloWeekends trip report from last week which can give you an idea for crowds. https://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77092
  23. Here have a screenshot so you can see the erection yourself. Click it for a higher resolution.
  24. Ah, another chapter in the books for Voyage. What a fascinating history. I'm sure the locals aren't happy about it being closed since that's one of 5 major attractions closed for the rest of the year on top of the water park now being closed. I wonder what they're going to do differently to help it sustain a smoother ride season long. I've only been to HW in May so I have great memories of the Voyage and only hope for the best, whatever the solution may be.
  25. Cedar Fair must have bought 500 of those giant skeletons because there were just as many at CP! I think KI does a fantastic job with Haunt - more than just masks and simple make up & set design. I love the original storylines and the effort each department gives. And then there's all that fog that fills in the valleys of Diamondback which makes it even more fun! Great report!
