  1. It's been in the low to mid 90's nearly all of July, and Banshee is running really fast! It is not my favorite invert but it is probably running the best I've ever experienced.
  2. Sounds like a really fun day! The thought of going on a Saturday and having to wait an hour between rides detered me from going, but I do want to check out the water park, Thunderbird, and Voyage since I have such fond memories of it.
  3. So the S&S 4D track is already on site, haha. Are they going to start construction early? New for Winterfest!
  4. Love the Maverick and Magnum ranks above Steel Vengeance! Keep the ranks comin!
  5. You don't have to ride Steel Dragon to know that some B&M trains would be incredible. Toss aside the reason for more comfortable lap bars, the exposed open air trains would be the best. The seat belt trick hasn't really worked for me, I have had equally painful and pleasant rides in the front and back. I just enjoy the back more on Magnum!
  6. Aaaand... I need to get a picture next time... looking out the station towards Racer/Orion perfectly frames Orion's hill. Such a good look.
  7. Ooooh CP coaster ranks huh? I'm game. 1) Maverick [front row] 2) Steel Vag [front row] 3) Millennium [front or back] 4) Dragster [front row] 5) Raptor [back row] 6) Valravn [back row] 7) Magnum [back row] 8) Gemini [back row] 9) Wicked Twister [back row] 10) Gatekeeper [front row] (big drop off here) 11) Blue Streak 12) Iron Dragon 13) Rougarou 14) Mine Ride 15) Corkscrew
  8. Maybe it's because I hadn't been on Adventure Express in a couple years but I thought it was so much fun with how overgrown that area is now. I would love to try it at night, you really feel secluded and you can't see Banshee as well. Son of Beast's helix and area that stretched beyond Banshee is grown in now as well.
  9. Never had an issue with Valravn but I have always been loud about how Gatekeeper can be one or the worst coasters in the back row the way it shakes and shimmies you down further into the seat and the vest squeezes the life out of you. Like Beast I only try to ride it in the front. Valravn always excellent in every row.
  10. Man if the crowds today are a foreshadowing of future weekdays you really don't need Fast Lane. I waited 20 minutes at the longest for Delirium and Orion (because I wanted to avoid storms).
  11. Yeah I rode without a ticket first, then they started handing them out. The same people were redistributing them. I never got 2x tickets per hour (like I lapped and lapped), it was just one per hour.
  12. Much less crowded today vs last Friday. Kings Island opened Orion right at 1030am 30 min before scheduled! How about that! I have gotten 4 rides so far and the there is no issue getting more than 1 ticket to ride. Just wait till the last 30 min of your window and you'll wait 10 min. I waited 20 min when I went in right at noon since there were storms incoming. After riding all over I am more fond of the ride! Shockingly, I like the back more. And I'm typically a front row guy. Do not come expecting big air on everu hill. I get it this is not supposed to be an intense ride. Lotta potential though if they had shrunk the elements and added in another hill or two. That being said the first drop is still amazing, the speed hill is a nice sustained float like Goliath/Titan, and the trimmed hill didn't hit so hard today it's fine, and the sideways hill before the brake run is the stand out in my opinion. No waiting for the front for the Beast, the station doesn't allow social distancing. Got my ass beat in the back seat LOL. You can see Orion over the trees but dont don't think it's more 'exposed'. Mystic Timbers is hauling. What an action packed fast coaster! Diamondback is the airtime coaster at KI. Come on out and visit! 90+mph 90+*F no problem No non-wheel seats! Look out!
  13. I am just realizing how disproportionate the additions to IOA (Kong, Jurassic Coaster, Hagrid's) vs Studios are recently. Sure I'm betting Potter is an enticing draw but to compare the attendance I am curious how that plays out. Yes there's the Borne show/attraction but outside of Potter, there are not many new things for returning guests. Yes, MiB, Spiderman, Mummy, RRR are all awesome but it seems like there isn't a equal amount of love here
  14. Anyone else have a reservation for tomorrow?
  15. While I'd like to visit for the first time since ~2014 I just don't think I would feel comfortable or have that great of an experience. Maybe another year, Holiday World!
  16. I mean if your main argument is how they built Orion too close, I could see that, but removing Vortex didn't really do anything. Vortex obstructed your view of the station/lift from the midway looking at Vortex but really nothing has changed.
  17. I learned that there is now an Android version of the G Force recorder app! I will try it out at the park on Friday Here are some more photos from last week. I had a noon time slot, and I my goal was really just to get 1 ride on Orion, some blue ice cream, and check out the park outside of Winterfest for the first time in a couple years! Ride ops were telling people to wear masks properly and cover their mouth and nose in the same way that they tell people to get off the hand railings. Pretty much singling the person out until they realize/or someone else in their party smacked 'em. I went straight to Orion and got a 4-5pm ticket window. Drop Zone showed an empty carriage so let's head over there. SoB's flame still going strong! Yep, so far so good! Very happy what nearly EVERYONE was following the rules! I think people realize how far we've come so far and are making sure we don't take a step backward. A ride on the Racer to get a closer look at Orion will come with a price... no non-wheel seats! Yep it ran like it's from 1972. This is pretty much how all the midways looked. Lines were still 30-45 for most coasters, though. This was just the 3rd day of operation. Right outside Area 72 you start to see some nice additions to the area! Here's your new for 2020 hotness.. Your standard B&M hyper/giga trains! As mentioned in this thread you can't hear the antirollbacks and the ride overall is pretty quiet. Just like Fury, you're going to start off the ride with an incredible first drop. New for 2019, and owner of a 2 hour wait during Winterfest, the Antique Cars! Walk on today! Very happy to have this chill ride back at KI. Now that Vortex is gone, this stretch of the park is kinda like that gap between Dominator and i305 at KD - just not too much there. Excited for what's to come! It's 91*, index is 100*, and I am having no issues breathing or overheating. I can't recco these neck garter/facecoverings enough! Diamondback looking like she's about to shed this paintjob haha Looked to be running pretty well! I will have to get a ride my next visit. Kings Island has an awesome local craft beer selection, and some great views to enjoy them at! I love these different angles of the Beast! Thank you for your service, old Arrow. For a long time the only solid piece of airtime at KI was Vortex's first turn and drop. Back to Orion, let's get a first ride in! Oooo little themeing before you head up to the station. Oh and one of the dumbasses no following the rules. Just seeing this now! Ride ops were telling people to wear masks properly and cover their mouth and nose. I arrived towards the middle-end of my hour window, so I breezed right through. Would love to take in more details/easter eggs on my next visit. It's a... interesting layout that's for sure! Back row right side ride complete! I would love another ride or two before giving a firm judgement but after 1 ride I thought it was really fun with a great first drop and surprising twisty airtime hill before the brakes, but nothing else worth bragging about. I'll update this Friday!
  18. A 30M giga coaster at Kings Island had so much potential! I am going to see how much I enjoy it more after more than 1 ride. I think the layout is so odd for the scale of the project but KI seems to love these big B&M elements.
  19. Cool, thanks looking forward to the report! I am tempted to do a trip this weekend as well.
  20. Nice! Were they running more than 1 train? Did you enjoy Voyage more this visit vs previous?
  21. 'That all sounds awesome, especially the ***16*** rides!, thanks for the update! I am excited to try it again.
  22. That's interesting to hear about how KI is handling things! - However, like you said... "Other than a few bad parents and teenagers..." - Which that right there is the problem. It just takes ONE bad parent, or teenager to create a MASSIVE issue for hundreds of people... and I feel like most of the country just doesn't grasp that yet. Right, and they were in their own 6ft space/group. I don't have the right answers or solutions but I felt comfortable and was able to distance myself from them. Ride ops were calling out people not covering their noses etc. I really don't believe we can be 100% on this - some people are just gonna be stupid dumb bitches.
  23. I'll counter. Everything Kings Island did was impressive, down to letting you out row by row so there is no crowding at the exit. I was really impressed and other than a few bad parents and teenagers everyone was following the rules. I think it's tough to imagine going to a restaurant or theme park until you are able to go and experience it for yourself. I am not slouching on any health/safety measures.
