  1. Wow, Manta looks like such an awesome ride! The trains look great, the restraints look non-existant! And it looks like that FACE member on the train gets a snack ....while riding! What an (epic) and (awesome) TERRIBLE and NOT SO BRIEF TR, Wes! -JZ
  2. What a great update! I can't wait for my TPR trip! -JZ
  3. Hell no! Slightly better? I'd say much better...but it really is a hit or miss sometimes. It can be smooth in the front....and then it can be horrible. Same with the back seat. Usually the front seat is a safe spot. Though I think it's safe to say anything would be an improvement from those old Premier trains, the G-Trains are on the wrong rides in America. Falken is only 65ft tall, and Mammut is only 30 ft taller; not very stong g-forces. But rides like Son of Beast, Hellcat, really push the limits of a wooden coaster.
  4. Hey TPR! A week ago I got ot go to the Avenged Sevenfold & Buckcherry Concert at the Bank of Kentucky Center. It was my first big concert outside of Bogarts and other smaller, second tier venues. I moshed around, and went crowd surfing 4 times! Saving Abel opened up, and I was only familiar with the songs, Addicted; 18 Days; and New Tattoo. They opened up very strong, and interacted with the crowed well! They sounded great, and I'd recommend anyone else to see them if you like plain rock 'n roll with a twist from the south! They played 30 minutes, I'm not sure of the setlist, but I heard Addicted and 18 Days last; and new Tattoo was in the middle. Papa Roach came out next, and completely tore the place apart! Lead singer Jacoby was absolutely insane! He got the place going crazy, and he jumped off the stage and went into the crowd on the side, telling them to "Stand the f*** up, this is a mother f'n rock concert!!!!" They played: -Between Angels and Insects (opening) -...To Be Loved Some older stuff -Scars -Forever -Hollywood Whore -Getting Away With Murder -Last Resort Buckcherry took their time coming out, and they started off pretty slow...seeming like all they wanted to do is play and then get back to the bus. But once they played songs that everyone was familiar with, they finished very strong. Lead singer Josh Todd claims that, "there's one thing not to miss in life. And that's great, crazy sex! Not normal sex, I'm talkin' about p*ssy control." And he went on and on about it, lmao. -Next To You (opening) -Onset -Lit Up -Broken Glass -Rescue Me -Out of Line -Too Drunk -Everything -Sorry -Crazy Bitch Finally, Avenged Sevenfold came out. They were absolutely amazing. Synyster Gates played a GREAT solo. They promised to come back during the summer! -Unholy Confessions (opening) -Chapter Four -Afterlife -Brompton Cocktail -Bat Country -Gunslinger -Dear God -Beast and the Harlot -Solo -Scream -Critical Acclaim -Almost Easy Sorry I'm so short on details....ask questions and I'll be sure to answer! The stage Saving Abel starting things up Everyone singing along to, Addicted The lights are hiding their lead guitarist, Scott Papa Roach's bassist....he was awesome! Jacoby....being Jacoby. Any drum enthusiasts out there? Buckcherry's Josh Todd. Supporting their new album, Black Butterfly. The only good shot of A7X =( Please comment! -Zach
  5. Erik, Awesome video! I loved every minute of it! You captured pretty much everything at Disneyworld that's a must see. Thanks so much for the high quality footage, it really took me back to my trip in July! I had so much fun watching Thanks! -Zach
  6. Oh lawd. Share the Xanex? I seent tyler's ass.
  7. Big Mike! Thanks for the Disneyland CA report! I really miss the place, I absolutely loved it! Hope to see you at Kings Island this year, and it was great participating in the ducky contest! -JZ
  8. Side note... Carpenters work on re-tracking part of the Beast roller coaster Tuesday at Kings Island. The legendary coaster is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest wooden roller coaster in the world at 7,400 feet and has given more than 42 million rides since it opened 30 years ago in 1979. The Beast was "unchained" April 13, 1979 on Press Day. The first ride consisted of the following individuals at 10:30am. -- Charles S. Mechem, Jr., Chairman of the Board, Taft Broadcasting -- Dudley S. Taft, President, Taft Broadcasting -- Gary S. Wachs, Executive VP, Amusement Park Group, Taft Broadcasting -- Charles Flatt, VP Construction & Engineering -- William C. Price, Vice President & General Manager -- Frank Thompson, Operations Director -- Walt Davis, Director of Park Services -- Charles Dinn, Director of Construction, Maintenance & Engineering -- Bill Reed, Director of Rides -- David Palmer, Director of Marketing -- Dick Fussner, Director of Loss Prevention -- Chris Schaffer, Controller -- Al Collins, Resident Engineer -- Jeff Gramke, Assistant Engineer -- Jimmie Nickell, Assistant Director of Construction, Maintenance & Engineer -- Charles Swing, Maintenance Manager -- Charles Wright, Carpenter Foreman Media members then had the opportunity to ride the Beast from 10:35am until 3:00pm, with the order determined by random drawing. Lunch was served from 12:00pm until 2:00pm in the Chicken Palace. The menu consisted of chicken or fish, cole slaw, soft drinks and beer.
  9. During the helix....you are PLASTERED to your seat....Goliath comes out of the helix VERY fast. I wouldn't doubt it.
  10. www.kidiamondback.com/public/latest/blog/index.cfm?entry=7420095f-0e51-40e3-aaa9-e5728dab3622 And they won't let us see it! Ugh, it's killing me! Dude, chill. There should be an update soon....everyone's excited, but you don't have to be annoying about how they're making it suspenseful.
  11. Okay...it's late and I am too lazy to search. Is KI re-tracking Beast? Taking off the trims? Painting? And the biggest question...should we have a 30 page topic of speculation if no one knows? My vote is that they tear down SOB and pump it into more theming, retracking, brake removal and more renovation into the parks crown jewel. Hey, don't laugh...Diamondback isn't even open yet! The Beast is still KING of the Island....even tho.......it is not.........really..........an island Beast is just getting a re-done entrance. If they took out the trims, it would tear itself apart....it recently got track work, infact, I'm pretty sure it's updated with new wood all season. SoB won't be torn down strictly for the records, and frankly, I like SoB. It's height, and speed...I like that. It's a fun ride. For those who want, feel free to use my pics as wall paper, just don't distribute them. Personal use is always cool with me. If you'd like a higher resolution, email me! -JZ boothe_z09@moeller.org
  12. Who has more wrinkles? Jeff or Mr. Six? Awesome update, Robb!
  13. I know, I know, I know! I'm going to try and get in the habit of uploading to TPR....I'm so used to just doing the imageshack routine.
  14. I hope you guys like twisty, because snakes do too. Diamondback's supports are within reach, so all you enthusiasts can hug away Old and new No, no, no, no...that's the second hill dude. Cedar Fair should go crazay over this red track. It's amazing. Check my title. I forgot which angle this was taken at, but every way I turn it...it's amazing. Flip'd....90 DEGREESE!!! I have a feeling you will turn to jello at the bottom of this drop. Money shot! Out of MCBR...into ravine. Wait...B&M....in Kings Island? Someone's going to LOVE this. Yeah, it goes RIGHT up and over the Crypt. Then, it roars right over your head before splashing in puddles like a little kid. Diamondback has a loop! If I'm wrong, Email DAN! mrt0ad@aol.com (or something like that ) Beast get some work for turning 30 this year. Mmm....captions. Bringin' sexy back. Yup! I really, really hope the single rider line isn't like Maverick's. There's even airtime into the brake run! Take one! Take two! Take three! By now, we were in freezing rain. I'd ride it in the freezing rain. Train one, box 4, WC HYPER COASTER....Wheel covers? Big, bad, and full of venom. Thanks for showing us around, Don! ....let's get the hell outa here, I can't feel my face or hands! Thanks for read... Woah, you're not going to show them the really good part? Dude, come on. What? Oh..the trains! There they are...those sexy beasts. Mr. Green Train....nice fangs. And the Orange Train Thanks for reading guys! Comments appreciated! -JZ
  15. Hello TPR! In January, KIC was going to have a Diamondback Construction Tour...but due to mass amounts of snow and ice, it was canceled and postponed until yesterday! I have to say, I was really nervous during the walkback because it was: -Windy -Just cold enough so where the rain wouldn't turn to snow -Dirty Lenses And I'm proud to say I did my best to make these shots what they are! Please comment, and enjoy! The tour started off with a walk down International Street; coming up to the International Showplace, we get our first looks. Coming around through Nick U, here's the gran pano-rama. Dane man! Not lookin' too good! Boddah looks concerned, too Red Beards' Revenge was in the building that was here. Here's the overview of the station and the entrance/exit. Peek-a-boo! [ As we continued down towards Rivertown, you see the second hill. That's right, second hill. The station's kind of western..ish...plain....meh. Mm....first drop goodness. 230ft at 74*...yum. That's a lot of airtime in one photo. Hello up thar.
  16. I'm pretty sure my parents were able to bargain for a better price this year...and the prices are already lower than usual. The water park was freakin' fantastic, I loved it. The most I had to wait was 15 minutes for the Coaster. They've got: -Cannonbowl -Water Coaster (The LIM One) -4 enclosed tube slides -Raft slide -2 Smaller body slides, but don't skip them -Lilly Pad thing
  17. Aw, I was expecting the Best Week Ever
  18. I wouldn't be sure it's finshed the pull through, especially since it's sitting on the transfer track still..
  19. It looks like it's the same as Rage at the one park over in Europe.
  20. What a great project, Shane! I'm sure it will be a huge success, it looks on par with the Great Wolf lodge waterparks! One question, though. It appears in the first picture, the blue-print-esque on seems to have a bowl (cannon bowl, pro bowl, behemoth, not sure) but in the two sketches below, I didn't see it on the other side of the platform where the purple slide is. I believe it's either slide A or F from the blue print. Was it taken out of the idea, or just not shown, or hidden by all the layers slides? Because those bowls are SO much fun! I think my favorite slide. -JZ
  21. I'm going to get a tattoo eventually. But I don't think I could get just one, there's sooo much stuff I want! -Barbed Wire -Biohazard Signs -Numerous band logos - BFMV, Metallica, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Escape the Fate, Three Days Grace, Bring Me the Horizon, Atreyu, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Matchbook Romance, idk. -Donnie Darko stuff -"False Hope" -Roses and knives/guns -Skulls -Haunt stuff I've gotta start writing down my ideas!
  22. Nothing's different from the hood in real life to the promotional videos/renderings. So far, no up-close shots of the trains.
  23. Hopefully they will have one of the trains out to showcase during the walkback on friday....should be pretty good, expect some nice shots!
