  1. The other Sunday it was raining/sprinkling the whole time...(see DB trip report) and everything stayed up. Umm...thunderstorms.. rides go down pretty fast. I don't know if indoor stuff is still open, but I think it's 20 minutes from when the lightning/thunder stops. After watching Vortex while working in the games during a thunderstorm, I'm pretty sure that's how it went.
  2. I counted 14 moments of what looks to be AWESOME GCI airtime! Fantastic addition. I want one
  3. I look like a mess! What a great way to end my day at KI! Awesome pictures, too. It was a pleasant surprise, Mike! Looking forward to our next adventures. -Zach
  4. Don't most parks heavily discount and encourage printing at home? I know you save 10-15 bucks at KI for doing that! -Zach
  5. If Siam Park was a theme park, it'd pretty much be like... -Batman Clone -Sheikra Clone -Premier Coaster Clone -Intamin Stealth Clone -Racer Clone All with super theming. It's got great rides, but it's been done...only difference is the super theming. And with a time restraint, water parks don't seem like it'd be the choice.
  6. Talk about a TPR weekend at KI! Friday - Joe (ginzo) and Liz Saturday - James (jamesdillaman) And today I got off early and went to Diamondback...single rider line. And I was paired up with Mike (Voyager) for the front seat of DB! We got another ride in back row, 16. It was really nice meeting you, Mike! I hope to see you at KI sometime soon! What a great weekend at Kings Island!!! Next weekend should be just as good! -Zach Me and Brad on the frontseat of DB!
  7. New photos, yay! This is it for now. More to come next week! Diamondback was really good today. Rode it twice during the day with James (jamesdillaman) in the front and the back. Back's my favorite. Waved to Don and Jeff at the hammerhead! Again, thanks for the fun meet up Joe and Liz! And Brad, if you're watching Diamondback is a GREAT place to watch the fireworks! Until next time! That's a big cloud of mist. Station and the ride. Maverick-ey station. I loved this It's so pretty at night. Especially with slower shutter speed. Thanks for paying attention, Liz! Everyone else was totally oblivious! Hahaha. And Joe's blocked. Just...plain night and the lift hill. Up to the stars! I like this one the best The sky was very blue...along with the Tower. I loved everything about this picture, really. Peering around the corner....Diamondback! Amazing night on Friday. Perfect. Eiffel Tower is pretty with its different colors. My favorite is the blue and green. Hey Joe! Good call. Racer gave a fantastic ride. Congrats, you're on TPR! A new view! I liked how this turned out. What? This isn't Diamondback. Easy now, Brad. Look out watersplash, here I come! I like this shot. I think I'll share it.
  8. Other reviews.. Beast - Despite newbies working and doing a great job stacking three trains...the Beast was a good ride. I know it got some track work, but I'm not sure if I could tell from the middle of the car. But regardless a fun ride. Flight of Fear - This ride's section before the MCBR kicks ass everytime. It's freakin' intense. Odd they have the lights on the lauch track...never had that happen before. Great ride still! Racer - The blue side was closed, but who cares. Sat in the last car, first row. WOW...questionably smooth...and it had really nice airtime throughout. WTF! This was a GREAT ride! Probably the best I've ever had! Delirium - We saw a one cycle wait...so we all hopped on! Seemed like the ride added a few more swings, but I think that's because I haven't been on it in a while. The positive G's on this ride are intense. Drop Zone - A one cycle wait...of course we have to ride! Such a great ride. Ska-Doosh. More to come! That dude is in total nirvana. He rocks. Weee...into the helix....WOAH..wait.. Through the trees! The Beast has a new sign. It looks nice Redbull gives you wiiiiiiings Pretty sunset. Vortex looks nice, and stick kicks your butt on the first drop! SIR AND MADAM, HANDS ON YOUR HEAD. NOW! Zoom'd!
  9. Last night was awesome. I met up with Joe (ginzo) and his lazy Liz; and unexpectidly met up with my Haunt buddy Brad! And two of his friends were picked up later in the park. It was open from 5-10. Dead. Rides: Diamondback - 9 Beast - 1 FoF - 1 Racer - 1 Drop Zone - 1 Delirium - 1 Gary! I hope you're reading....I was going to tell you I took some shots of you, but I didn't get to see you after the front seat ride...here's some shots below, feel free to download them! Email me if you want the full pictures! boothe_z09@moeller.org Had a great time riding with you! I'm sure I'll see you later in the season. After last night...I claim Diamondback as my number one. Diamondback gives floater air, forceful floater, and pretty much ejector air..the front, middle, and back all give differet rides, and each of them are incredible. I think I've been in every row now...and every seat is fantastic. Front - Beautiful views, insane airtime over every hill. -First drop kind of lets you fall against the restraint, then gives you airtime. -Second hill just throws you out of your seat. Ejector. -Third hill does the same, just not quite as good. -Hammerhead spins you around -Fourth hill gives ejector. -Pop into MCBR. -Fifth gives Little floater down into the ravine from the MCBR -Sixth is a nice camelback, airtime. -Seventh is a repeat. -Pop airtime down into watersplash -Airtime into breakrun. Middle, row 8. It's right in the middle...constant floater air...it's like your typical B&M hyper with a tase of the front and back. -First drop gives great airtime all the way down. -Second hill lets you float forever. -Third hill does the same, just as good. -Hammerhead spins you around..kind forceful. -Fourth hill gives ejector/forceful airtime. -MCBR. -Fifth gives floater down into the ravine from the MCBR -Sixth is a nice camelback, floater airtime. -Seventh is a repeat. -Pop airtime down into watersplash -Airtime into breakrun. Row 16, as farrrr back as you can go is my favorite. Read below. -First drop is kind of like Millennium Force and a B&M hyper hill. You get ejected. -Second hill just floats you around, and throws you out of your seat. -Third hill does the same, just as good. -Hammerhead spins you around, very good sense of speed and force. -Fourth hill gives ejector. -MCBR. -Fifth gives nice airtime down into the ravine from the MCBR -Sixth is a nice camelback, airtime. -Seventh is a repeat. -Awesme pop airtime down into watersplash -Breakrun. Riding at night is a MUST!!!! I swear it gets better and better every time I ride it...holy crap, I love this ride. Coming off the Beast....what a view. Anndddd brakes. Whheeeee! There's a smile! Looking a bit nervous coming into that splash down.. Gary's ready for his front seat ride...could it beat out Behemoth? Hey CP RULES! Details, details... It's soooo cool to feel the lift pull you up, then get faster and faster I like how the rest of the ride is creepin' in the back In the back seat, you get a generous mist. Nerdddd shotttt Gold passers. Paul was there. Don't forget to throw breadcumbs! Auto industry is investing well!
  10. Yep. The obviously blue Fox shirt. Yays!
  11. Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster is always my favorite! But..but....I love Diamondback more!
  12. After today...I claim Diamondback as my number one. As stated above, Diamondback gives floater air, forceful floater, and pretty much ejector air. Riding at night is a MUST!!!! I swear it gets better and better every time I ride it...holy crap, I love this ride.
  13. Will Vortex be open? It's all done. How rough is Son Of Beast? I definitly want to ride it, but if it is GhostRider rough I think I would save it for last. so the question is... Is Son Of Beast GhostRider rough? Ride in the front seat and you'll be fine. It's the best there, too! *Copy. Paste.* Which lines fill up the fastest, take the longest, and what order of those rides would I have the best (possible) success? We will be at the park when it opens and Coasters are our priority. I'm thinking Firehawk should be first priority? On a Saturday....at noon, things will be filling up. But SoB, Beast, Face/Off, FoF, Firehawk, and Diamondback will be by 11. IJST, Firehawk, Face/Off, Top Gun, SoB are the slowest. Beast, too along with Drop Zone and Delirium. Firehawk doesn't open right at the begenning of the day sometimes....due to lazyness or late testing, so you have been warned. This question is for both parks. Where should I eat? Because we are going to be at both parks all day I'd prefer a sitdown restaurant indoors (Like Moose Burger Lodge at SFMM) so I can take a break and keep my energy. What do you recommend? I know the buffet in Rivertown near DB is nice. SKYLINE CHILI AND LAROSAS PIZZA are amazing Cincinnati food, and it's not that bad of prices. Eat there if you can! They have patios near by. Hope that helps some.[/i]
  14. Thanks for such a nice comment! And everyone else! I'm going back on Friday, it's going to be beautiful outside...I'm considering brining my camera. I probably will
  15. Yeah, I LOVE Metallica....but the tickets are sooo expensive. I saw Haste the Day, Senses Fail, and Hollywood Undead at Borgarts! Back in March... And my wristband from the Feb 23rd Avenged Sevenfold concert is...still on my wrist! Probably 60+ showers, the ocean, pools, roller coasters....it's survived them all! I love it
  16. Bahahahaha...noooo. International housing is about...30 minutes to east. It's an apartment complex that's on par with a motel.
  17. More updates! Oh damn that's yummy. Diamondback communicates with aliens, too. Get ready for a pop of airtime! It's fun..but not as good as I thought it was going to be. Five hills right there. Did I leave my gara....yessss, I did. It's silent....and fast. Webcam POV! This used to be a big empty space. With geese. It can be seen from space. In a real space shuttle. Up the Eiffel Tower! Back to the big guy Ah Firehawk...get ready for a rush of blood to the head!
  18. You can NEVER go wrong with a BGE Chuck report! Although, my favorite was the waterslide POV We need more of that! See ya at KI! -Zach
  19. Disney parks are not seasonal.... completely different when you're only training one new person on an experienced crew as opposed to one experienced person on a completely new crew. Trust me. It is especially a problem with the 16-17 year old crew members on the rides. Plus Disney tends to hold workers for longer times than KI can. I remember people working for a total of only a couple months on the Beast crew when I worked there. If you expect Disney caliber from KI, then that's a failure of your expectations more than the park. I wouldn't ask for a NY Strip steak from McDonalds.... Also, once the Beast IS stacking all trains, it's very tough to unstack them, especially the way the newer blocking system is set up. You don't want trains stacking on the lift.... -James Dillaman Which is what they used to do a few years ago...I in 04-07 I vividly remember being parked on the lift for a good 30-60 seconds so they could space out the trains. It happened about 3/5 times.
  20. More photos....some non-DB stuff. But it's a fun ride. I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes for it though.. But seriously...a year after it opens with brand new location, paint, and name....it looks like sh*t and is running a one train op. There's two switchbacks full before the station and it's an hour wait. Pathetic. You won't like me when I'm angry!!! Don't make me angry.. oh....we're at Firhawk.... Still pleasing riders! Racer still is going "vintage look" A new sign for the arcade.... Vortex looks great! KI could rip this off as a new show, starting every 3 minutes. Typical happy rider. Headless dude on DB! Or maybe he's playing peek-a-boo. Nnnggghhhhh rain doesn't feel good See, Moses...it's not that hard. I spy hair time! Dose wheel spin fast. SMILEY FACE! Hey...this looks like... Diamondback gets pretty close to the crowd. When your feet can't touch the floor...it really gives you the sensation of free fall Hold on anyway you can. Diamondback gets ready to strike!
  21. Oh, I recognize this place! I remember seeing the little suspended coaster on RCDB a long time ago. Awesome update, Divv! -JZ
  22. Not surprisingly, Diamondback is exactly like that. I couldn't believe the air in the front! I ended up liking the outside seats in car 1, row 2. Shorter line and outside seats, same feeling as the very front row (which I did try once, and is great). I think I rode three times in row 2, once in row 1, and 4 times near the back, which is also great. If anyone wants more description of the ride (day and night), I wrote a TR that had a lot of text (I know people prefer to look at photos), so it'll probably get buried in the forums in a few days. Just search under my posts - there aren't that many yet. I posted a link in an earlier message under this topic. The outside seats are really fun, you're riding on the side of the track versus in the middle of it! I love the freedom of the trains....it's just awesome.
  23. Here's some more photos. Please comment! This is the B&M dude I got to say hey to. The creator and the creation. Through the floral display! I tried being creative. Beacause it's so smooth..Diamondback pleases everyone! Match the expressions. I see row 2 and row 9. I don't think I ever held on. Hands up is the way to go! It's a Big Mike look alike. HEY! It's Big M.....wait, nevermind. SIGH. Brown train rules! Awesome. The brakes are smooth and powerful.
  24. I couldn't possibly disagree with you more. I am famous for bashing my home park. I agree that our operations are terrible. That is mainly what I complain about. Also, a couple years ago SFGAdv's operations may not have been that great but have been outstanding in the past two years. As for the coaster selection, I think we have a great selection with 4 B&Ms. Goliath continues to be my favorite B&M hyper as I really struggle to see what people see in Nitro. They are basically the same rides but with the hammerhead and helix switched but Goliath has so much more airtime. Nitro is very tame and has nothing more than slight floater air on a few of its hills. Also, not being a fan of stand ups, Georgia Scorcher is the best one I have been on. We have a great Schwarzkopf with Mindbender. Also, while Batman and Superman are clones, they are favorites with the general public and most enthusiasts love Batman. While I feel that our lineup was much stronger with Dejavu (very unreliable but something unique that everybody loved), we still have great coasters. Goliath rocks, but the operations are horrible. With two trains, they were stacking like crazy. And they did make up for it....they said if we scream and have our hands up the whole time, we get an extra ride! And that's how I got two back to back rides...in the front; and then back to back....in the back! On Cyclone, one of the ride operators took my seat; I was waiting for a good 5 minutes, and he blatantly saw me waiting...and he just sat in my seat and dispatched! Horrible service and operations.....bad ass rides and a pretty park. That's SFOG. Acrophobia is freaking amazing.
  25. It's a B&M hyper with all the extras added onto it! It's a great coaster! I'm not saying it's the best, but you can't possibly say it lacks in airtime and it's not that great. People would think you're talking about Raging Bull! Please come up and take a ride You'll see what I mean.
