  1. I think this is all apart of CP's plan to put in a new, big coaster in place of Demon Drop, Disaster Transport, and part of the employee lot. Just thinking...
  2. Onward. Thanks for viewing everyone! Raptor looks good as usual. Dragster at sunset. Bye Demon Drop, hope Knott's gives you love! Some more Raptor love before we leave. Hairtime of all sorts! Downtown Sandusky in the backround. You'd never expect a theme park to be in the area! This is my favorite element on any coaster. Hands down. The canyon section is one of my favorite parts. Maverick is right next to the water, it's a nice location. Off into the sunset. Almost an aquatrax. FML Time to get in line for Maverick again! Longgg way down! Ah, much better! Ouch, this hurts. This, I like. One courtesy ride to another... Courtesy ride on Power Tower.. Nerd shot! Why did I do this?! You can get VERY close to the ride. Hair goes: WOOSH So many different expressions, haha Hitting the brakes. "Sensation of Speed" High on my list, Mitch! It's funny because sometimes I see the people I took pictures of later in lines! These guys were excited I was taking pictures of them, haha. OMG! It's a very powerful launch Green means go! It seems everyone obtained telekenisis powers. I call this next portion: Many faces o' Dragster.
  3. Herschend did a good job here; I bet they do better down south at Dollywood!
  4. Looking very cool. I can NOT wait to ride this ride!
  5. Great details on the updated Space Mountain, and nice photos! Thanks Adam! -Zach
  6. Hey, I like to take pictures to show the rest of the coaster enthusiast world...I like to try to grab their attention! But will do. I'm Tony Stewart and I like to go fast, so I approve Top Thrill Dragster. Ugh, why don't I have MY own coaster? What Nascar fans have been waiting for! Yellow, yellow, yellow, green! ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew Oh noez! I still can't figure out what it is... One of the many trains. This is a must ride! Reaching 120mph twice Race to the sky! I have yet to ride the front seat, and this is why. What goes up, must come down. Yummy Intamin! Pretty, pretty, pretty. Through the trees! Weeeee 420ft straight down! Going down! Hm...this looks like a nice spot to take pictures! Walking around the park.. Gemini...one of the best works from Arrow! I don't think the Mine ride will be missed if it leaves. I do like how there's hardly anything to hold onto Just on my way to work... Not having fun anymore?! "don't throw up all over everyone, don't throw up all over everyone, don't throw up all over everyone, don't throw up all over everyone, don't throw up all over everyone" Everyone's able to enjoy Skyhawk Skyhawk...probably the best "hawk" ride there is!
  7. Continuing... Stengel dive....omg. And coming around for round two! Exiting the horse-shoe roll. There we are! umm..what? And can you see those wheels off the track? Mmm...quality Intamin airtime. Those new OTSRs would be very nice for this ride. Another close look. They took the train off after we told them. Maverick crew is cool! Can you believe that the Maverick crew was running a train with this shredded wheel?! We told them after we rode. I'd hate to have been on that train! That's dangerous! Looking through the station to the last airtime hill. Almost ready to ride! Into the canyons. One of MF's overbanks on the island. Nothing but smiles! Happy happy joy joy This section is INTENSE. Hey Dan! This thing is FAST. On over to Maverick!
  8. Hey TPR! So I hadn't been to CP since '07, and I had been dying to get an Intamin fix! So I headed up with a few friends from the Diamondback crew this summer to visit CP. I finally got to take the D40 to CP for some GREAT pictures! Thankfully the trip you're going to see wasn't the trip where nearly EVERY line was filled up and over flowing. I believe this was a day or two before the Texas trip. Hey NASCAR fans! Tony Stewart was visiting CPthe day I was there. apparently he had a VIP pass, because the three times I rode MF, the train pulled up and he was in my seat! The same happened at TTD! Damn Tony Stewart making me wait all day! 2009 Reviews: Maverick - This Intamin masterpiece was hauling ass when we were there. The airtime on the first drop, bunny hill, Stengel dives, and the other airtime hill were sooo good. I really hope CP puts those OTSRs like Insane and newer age rides; the soft padding would make everyone happy. This is my favorite steel coaster. Millennium Force - This ride is just so darn fun. It doesn't do much..but I love it! After being on so many other coasters since I first rode it, it's dropped on my list. But who doesn't love a fast, smooth steel coaster? Magnum XL 200 - Hate it or love it? I'm not sure! I love the weird airtime over the hills on the way back, but it's soooo goddamn painful! This ride is going to need a LOT more than a new sign to return it to what it once was. Raptor - For some reason, I had been skipping this ride on my previous visits. I got to ride in the front seat AND the back seat on this visit, and it was running very, very, very well. I'm not sure if it's better than Afterburn, but it's damn close. Mantis - I've had really fun rides on this in the past, but it's either a really good ride...or bad; and this time it was bad. I like the setting and the layout but please, get some floorless trains or something! After you get to the loop, you want the ride to end. Gemini - I love the hell out of this ride. It's one of the best coasters there! Slapping hands as you go around turns, airtime, VERY smooth. Did you notice how eerily quiet the ride is? Mean Streak - We decided to ride because our friend was new to the park. This, is hands down, the WORST roller coaster I have EVER been on. It gave me a few gut punches, shoulder smacks, thigh and shin bangs...it had a few good spots of airtime like Texas Giant; but this ride SUCKS! Top Thrill Dragster - This ride still proves to be the only coaster that gets me a little nervous. It's a one trick pony, but it does that one trick very well. What a cool ride. Wicked Twister - I thought very highly of this ride in the past...but it felt like they shortened the cycle. Right when I was starting to having fun, the ride was over. Skyhawk - Pretty much the same thing as WT. But it's really cool how you just have that little lap bar. I prefer this over the frisbees. Power Tower - The only good thing about this drop tower is the view it offers. This is just as lame as the S:TOP at SFOT. Demon Drop - The only tower that makes my stomach fly into my throat EVERY time. I'm so sad to know this ride isn't going to be there my next visit. Enjoy the pics! -JZ What a great day! More to come! At the bottom of the 300ft drop. Almost upside-down Who wants to give MF a hug? Here ya go! Overbank at extreme speeds. What a great first drop! Get excited, Kings Dominion! First drop crazyness! Overbank anyone? Yay Diamondback! Intamin track anyone? 310ft is also a long way up! yup, the lift is THAT steep. Nothing but fun fun fun! Can anyone spot Big Mike in his adolescance? Every coaster should have these trains. On over to Millennium Force! Raptor ERT was going on in the morning. Hopefully Japaneese Raptor fits in well at its new park! We started and ended the day with Demon Drop. Classic! Needmore road plz.
  9. Number one material: -Goliath, SFOG -Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster, Movie World (AU) -Mystery Mine, Dollywood -Space Mounatain, DL -Maverick, CP -Shock Wave, SFOT Not number one material, but damn good. -Diamondback -Steel Hawg -Cali Screamin -Mindbender -Titan -Afterburn -Raptor -Top Thrill Dragster -Millennium Force -Superman: KC -Great White -Steel Eel -Mr. Freeze -Tennessee Tornado. This ride kicks ASS! Top Wooden: 1. Voyage 2. Cornball Express 3. Kentucky Rumbler 4. Raven 5. Georgia Cyclone 6. Boardwalk Bullet 7. Thunderhead 8. Gemini 9. Blue Streak 10. The Beast
  10. I'm not sure what the category is since there's hyper and mega coasters up there....so I'll do both. I've been on: -Goliath (SFOG) -Diamondback (KI) -Titan (SFOT) -Millennium Force (CP) All of those rides are REALLY good, but I'd have to say: 1. Goliath 2. Diamondback 3. Titan 4. MF Non Intamin/B&Ms: -Magnum -Steel Eel
  11. Oh the food in the USA. I miss Australia's meat pies SOOO BAD. I'd do anything for one! Tim Tams, different Doritos, Raspberry and Lime Fanta, The McOz burger! LOL! Oh man. And yeah, your large is like our small. Great report! Looking forward to the next update. -Zach
  12. LOL! What a great update. Can't wait to see more from the Adam and Bryan show!
  13. Great stuff, Mike! I was waiting for this photo trip report, and you didn't dissapoint. I should have asked to take on ride pics at DL....I completely forgot!
  14. But it was Voyage that got them to the 1 million guests mark. Even with Voyage, I don't view HW as a must-visit-every-year park. I tend to re-visit places when they add something new. There are too many places that I haven't visited at all yet to be going to the same places over and over. I know the new giant ass water coaster will have me coming early May during a school week! One of the best visits to a park...Holiday World with no crowds!
  15. Yeah, it's no Steel Eel, SFoG Goliath, Diamondback or MF...it's something different done with the height and speed. Coming into the brake run, I still felt they could have done even more with the ride! Two great moments of airtime, crazy helixes, smooth, high speeds and first drop. Pretty good ride in my book!
  16. The ride had a few good moments of air, and the last part of the ride was really, really good. But it beat me up very badly-similar to Mean Streak. They've got a lot to work with, let's hope they do the same with Son of Beast!
  17. I *LOVED* Titan at SFOT. It is great with capacity, when running properly with a motivated staff. (Diamondback's crew reached an hourly capacity of 1,599rph!) The first drop was very....different. I felt a strange floater going down the drop, and then before bottoming out in the tunnel. It was weird! Three strong points nearly made me black out: -Bottom of 1st drop -First helix -Second helix The airtime hill in the front seat was really cool. It's sustained for a while! When I rode Titan, I only came to a dead stop on the MCBR once; the rest it was braked, but there wasn't much of a hang down the drop.
  18. You should see Rattler at Fiesta Texas sway. You'll think the ride is about to collapse it moves so much. That was SCARY watching that from the station!
  19. Larry, You can find anything from the Texas parks in my Texas trip thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=51847&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=texas+trip A few gents demonstrating how to ride. I think you'll like this Drop Tower shot.
  20. I'm glad to see a lot of Cornball Express this year! I'm sure it will be showing up next year as well when TPR stops by Indi Beach. This happens a LOT!
  21. You can find me at Kings Island. untitled.bmp UrgentScare Is my suit dirty?
  22. I'm so happy with RAW one and two, I really can't wait to get the fourth. The line up is GREAT and, well, it has Diamondback on it....so it's a must for me! -JM0
  23. 1. Voyage 1. Favorite steel 3. Cornball Express 4. Kentucky Rumbler 5. Raven 6. Georgia Cyclone 7. Boardwalk Bullett 8. Thunderhead 9. The Beast 10. The Legend Worst: -Hurler -SOB -Mean Streak -BB that first night
