  1. Earlier this year I rode the Pepsi Max Big One in the snow with a few of the people on the earlier pages. But that was nothing compared to the snow at Tivoli Gardens last December. Managed to get on all the coasters in some sort of snow. Funniest one was Odin Expressen, where the snow picked up and we did about 5 laps and I came off looking like snowman!
  2. That's really bad news. Especially with both deaths so close But how do you get thrown out of a TopScan of all things? There must have been some serious failure from some party along the line here. I also wonder whether this tragic episode will affect all the other TopScans operating in the world.
  3. Sorry to hear about the sad news. RatTums will always live on in spirit, and I'm sure the name won't ever be forgotten.
  4. I must have got some very average rides on the Beast. It wasn't even running for 5 minutes during my two rides.
  5. I gotta agree - it won't be the most aesthetically pleasing ride ever where it has to cross over the other rides, but the section on the other side of the road looks quite nice. Hey, at least Six Flags didn't build it over a car park!
  6. This is one poll that really needs hijacking. If enough of us vote for Humdinger, we could be laughing for a long time come next March.
  7. God strike me down if that gets called IKON. I'm gonna join the Humdinger crowd here - at least that would be funny!
  8. Even though I can't come on the trip every day because of other commitments, I will try and swap my shifts so I can come to some of the parks in the evenings after I finish work on the days that I'm stuck in the office. Long days ahead, but they'll be worth it!
  9. I think it's Blackpool PLeasure Beach. They have 5 different wooden coasters - they used to have 6, but Vikingar is now SBNO.
  10. Those little Pinfari Inverts are great fun! I've been on M&D's version while it was still operating as a travelling ride (and when it was still named Tsunami), and that really surprised me! It does die a bit after the midcourse brake though.
  11. I should get to ride it in a month - it looks like good fun, but I can't help thinking that it's very short and not gonna be worth a huge queue.
  12. Woah, that doesn't look good. I wonder how long it's gonna take to drain all that water away? The whole place is about 10ft below sea level to start with.
  13. I really enjoyed this, mostly because I was lucky enough to get on it! It's really forceful, a lot more so than I imagined it would be.
  14. I don't know why I just cracked up looking at this...maybe it's an English thing. The Boddingtons brewery in Manchester closed its doors a few weeks back - it's now produced far far away.
  15. Buses can go to hell. What's the point in running buses if they're not on time, so everyone misses them, we all have to squeeze onto the next one so I break sweat just getting to work and now I have to wait 7 hours to I can go home and shower? I can't wait to get my car back.
  16. Yeah, I'd say BPB as well. Don't forget that Holiday World will have 3 awesome woodies next year as well... 8)
  17. I found TPR in 2002 after looking on the Internet for information about Knotts' then new coaster Xcelerator. I downloaded the video with the backseat POV and Elissa modelling the merchandise, and I've been visiting ever since. 8)
  18. ^^ Aha, so maybe that explains why the lift hill has got several kinks going up it!!
  19. Come on Arsenal!!! I hope we get through the group stage, but the Gunners have a habit of failing in Europe, so hopefully this year will bring better rewards if we play well enough. Ajax will be very tough, and Sparta Prague away won't be easy. But we should be looking to be FC Thun comfortably, and not give away any sloppy goals that could be costly.
  20. Make sure you get on all three lanes - that's three different credits! 8)
  21. Nasty...so they're more lethal than I thought. I'm waiting for the day that the first SLC gets scrapped for good - I'll have the champagne on ice!
  22. I'm gutted I didn't go there in 2004 now! The whole park looks like really awesome! I'd definetly consider a weekend in Italy next year so I can go do those 3 Italian parks again.
  23. Yeah, it still closes in high winds, but it's a lot more reliable than it used to be. But the good news is that it's not valleyed in a good while from what I've heard off the guys who run it. The ride after that almost empty train, the train was nearly full, and the speed was incredible! And even when I had the whole train to myself on one of the runs I did, it was really flying round at the end of the night. The ride after that almost empty train, the train was nearly full, and the speed was incredible! Certainly didn't slow down as the sea breeze became a bit stronger.
  24. Looks like some good real ale being served there! If you can make it over to England next year you'll have to sample some of our fine real ales on offer over here. 8)
  25. Yeah, it doesn't have many operational problems now - if it gets too windy it still closes, but it can run in lights winds now, whereas before almost ny wind meant that the ride would valley. The guy who runs the park got a lot of his money back on the ride from Vekoma because it was such a failure in its first year. But seriously, take some headache tablets with you to Fantasy Island for this! It really hurts! If all goes well, I might even see you there!
