  1. I feel compelled to add to this... Cypress Gardens is a HUGE draw to the local senior citizen population and there grandkids. That being said....the majority of the senior citizens are just now getting here for the winter season. This is why there is so many concerts over the winter months, as that is when you get them. Never underestimate the power of senior citizens in large groups. That being said...they probably will announce hopefully next years lineup of concerts, and hopefully the building of the rotted pile of...errr I mean Starliner. We can only hope. I am a CG passholder...but not a fanboy in anyway. I live in Winter Haven and feel the need to support a local historic icon in this town. Of course..the running joke is that they will announce that Disk-O will now e open everyday, along with half of the other rides in the park...
  2. I am due to go to HHN on Sunday...I am fearful of the crowds, but becuase its a worknight...hopefully they will be minimal.. Thanks for the honest look...what did you think of the scarezones?
  3. At least one... How many times a day do you visit this site?
  4. Here is the link. No Harry Potter at Disney
  5. It was posted this morning that she is NOT in talks with Disney... No Harry Potter Parks in th future..sorry.
  6. I went this weekend and posted a Trip report Phobia
  7. Some more info to add about the event... There really werent any "scarezones" to speak of. There were some people in the front area and thats about it. The houses(3total) were ok, and were a good effort, just they only had about 3-5 people in them. One good thing is they do stagger how many peeps are allowed in to the house at a time, so they had that going for them. There was a 3d house, with clowns. We hit it twice, and the second time was fun as there was a clown wearing a Mike Myers mask who basically chased me out of the entire house. I ran through it. That was fun. They also had an area called Black Forest. Basically it was a junkyard(or a redneck backyard) full of old crap, and about 3 people to scare you. Soo much potential. Overall it was a good try, but there was just so much cheap, cheesiness to it, it was hard to enjoy. Maybe if they werent going bankrupt they could do better. On the plus side...Disk-O was open!! It usually is closed. Skeletons on a ferris wheel!! Sunset on the lake. Hopefully this view won't get replaced by condos
  8. So we decided to check out some of the offerings in our home county...and Phobia was about it. It seems that they got a good deal at Kmart and Walmart on the decorations. We saw them there. They really tried to put on a good venue, but just were lacking people. The houses were very short, and had about 4 people working them. We also saw Phobia on Ice...just to beat some of the heat. It was OK..There were TONS of prosti-tots running around too. One of the coolest things was a guy measuring you for your casket. He would put a person in one, then close the door. He would then re-open it to find the person gone. He then would open a diff one and they were there. Simple idea, but just fun to watch and do. Overall, an OK effort but needs more work. Here are some pics. Yet another house. Could have been good. There was a chainsaw dude hanging around. This is one of the houses. Yes, thats a tent with a cheesy house front Sign in the alligator area Scarecrow man Opening parade..this was ALL of the actors...about 50 total. Ahh Starliner...we may never see it.. Center Gazebo, now with blow up spider! Lots of pumpkins, people smashed a few too. A set piece..not used for anything though Cobwebs everywhere..not too bad.
  9. I hope to get there this weekend...I will post after words...
  10. I recently started playing WoW. I agree with other that if I hadnt been "into" the whole thing it would have made no sense... I love Stans Dad...being a Noob...he even had the Noob look.. Best Episode in a LOOONG time...I was even playing WoW while watching
  11. The first episode out of the box on Wed, will be making fun of World of Warcraft players..should be funny...as I play Wow
  12. Are they going to offer this on the pay by month plan...I doubt they will, but it does not hurt to ask.
  13. My all time fav series behind Zelda.. RE 4 was by far, hands down the best. I had Gamefly when it came out, was one of the first to receive a copy, and proceeded to play it NON Stop for 4mo. When I finally returned it, I had beaten it and was working on the side stuff. I need to buy it now that the price has dropped. I own pretty much all of the RE games in most of the formats. RE C:V was another fav of mine. I agree that they always found ways to make me jump when things happened...damn dogs through windows!!
  14. Yes and no... I agree this past season was weird..I also oly started watching it this season. While the season was going on, I was watching on DVD the other seasons. The show is good, and the actor that plays Lex is so cute. Hopefully the story doesnt get to lame
  15. Wow...I grew up going to Morey's Pier as I lived in Cape May for 21yrs. I didnt first go to Steel Pier until the early 90's. I was not impressed, but loved the "history" behind it. I was sad to see Ocean One gone(it was not open when I was there) and changed, and al ot of what I remember going to gone. Even the casinos seemed different. I got my credit on the mouse when it was still at Dinosaur Beach/Hunt's Pier..yet another pier gone to waste...stupid Morey's.
  16. You visited the Auburndale Dirt Mart!!... I go by this all the time on my way to work...Across the street for the Dirt Mart is a sign for Mud-Bogging!! Enter at your own risk though as they dont have insurance!! Nice pics...The dirt mart is a RPTR all in its own!
  17. I am like Elissa...I pride on getting people ejected for being stupid.. - Got a party thrown out of HHN a few years ago. They were told numerous times to NOT smoke in line. Well they were REALLY REALLY drunk, and kept lighting up. So I had enough(I am allergic to smoke) and told the security guy they had all lit up just as we had passed them for the final time. He had them all ejected!! - Got kids thrown from KI for line jumping
  18. OK..I did not watch, but I checked Morty's both last night and this morning. Poor George is only going to be HOH for a few days. Eviction is Sunday, so he is only getting food for those few days...guess its better than nothing... Also they have already had the POV comp...I wont post as it is a spoiler...I just don't know if it was used or not yet.
  19. I can understand the whole "friend vs game" issues though. You spend 24hrs a day with these people, with NOTHING else to do. Of course you will have relationships and friends. I would love to play, but dont know if I could last...Then again...it would be a lot of fun to try..They get a pretty cool house. My vote for tonights elim: Marcellas...hopefully. HOH hopefully goes to James, Will or Boogie
  20. Rumor has it that Boogie has it...I can only hope.. Janelle must die...I agree. Howie is funny too... Big Boy Likes TPR!!
  21. OK, I admit..I am watching it too.. I had the feeds last year, but refuse to pay for them again....How found myself watching WAY to much. I check out Morty's site for info on the day-to-day highlights of the house though. My pick to win...Dr. Will or maybe Boogie.
  22. On my recent trip to Philly to go to a family wedding, hubby and I took a side trip with his parents to ESP. This place is an old prison built in 1822 that was shut down in 1971. Its full of history as Al Capone was once an inmate for 8mo. This place was also featured on Ghost Hunters. Enjoy the pics. Finally, this is the visitation room, added in the early 1900's. Hope you enjoyed your stay at ESP This was the exit. 3 different doors. These white cats were everywhere. They are called Ghost Cats. They represent the cats that lived at the prison up until 2004 or so when the last one died. One of the many escape tunnels. This was one that was successful and thought to have been filled in, only recently found to still be intact. And this was his cell. Oriental rugs, books and music. He bribed the guards of course. The most famous inmate at ESP. He stayed for 8mo. They also put in a Camp X-Ray(Guantanamo Bay) cell. This was also pretty cool. Notice its all chain link. This was all the people on Death Row...all the juviniles that is. There are about 15 more not seen Outside. Ball field to the left. Center city Philly straight ahead. This is a cell in Cell Block 7. They were much smaller as they were added later. This is #7. They had cool sounds playing to make it feel realistic. This is one of my fav pics! This is part of the center hub. You can enter all corridors from here. Notice #7. This is where a shadowy figure was seen Anyone have to go before we move on? And today, most look like this. This is what the cells looked like during the time. These guys were in charge of the prisons at the time This is corridor 1. Creepy. There is a self guided tour done by Steve Buscemi. Ok, we are inside now. We were also told there is one way in, and one way out Notice the turrets. This is like a huge castle, 30foot walls and all This sign means its old and historic. They said its also a ruin. First stop, Geno's. Please order in English!
  23. Actually on DD, you cannot leave your shoes..you must hold them or sit on them... The reason for this being that the train unloads in a different location than loading.
  24. Any room with a hot tub in it is WELL worth it, especially after walking around parks all day! Cant wait for more!!
