  1. Yes Shock Drop is one of *the* best drop rides in the world. I'd consider it right up there with Blue Fall at Sea Paradise and Rebellion from Libertyland (now at GTiTS). The Fabbri and ARM ones scare me to death...and I love it. Hmm...BB already had a smaller swing ride, so I wonder if the Wave Swinger will replace it or if they'll keep both. I love the thought of Flying Scooters being only an hour away from me. Let's hope they'll run them in insane snapping mode. I'll be there next month for the Christmas event.
  2. Bill I tried to post a pic of the El D, but to no avail. I'm not sure why it wouldn't post (user error lol). Guess we'll just have to wait for Robb to do the pics folder thing and then you can have a look and maybe have better luck at posting it for others to see than I did. Sorry!
  3. Yep Bill I'm pretty much a sucker for historic rides like the El Dorado carousel. That thing was TOO cool! I have yet to finish uploading all of my pics to my comp, but when I get to Toshimaen I'll see if I can upload one of El D. Actually I think Peter was spinning the fastest on the inner ring, then the middle ring and outer ring spun consecutively slower...hmm I could be wrong, but that's my memory of it. It really was a gorgeous piece of mechanical art. Loves it!
  4. YAY DRUNKEN BARRELS! I was shocked when I saw them at Sea Paradise...brought back great memories of the indoor Li'l Deuce Coupe at Opryland and the ones SFOG used to have. I didn't know any were still in existence. And WOW thanks to Brian, Adam and Peter these gave a totally new meaning to spin n' puke! I still don't get why more parks don't have this type instead of the ones that stay flat on the ground. Blue Fall was amazing. I'm sure Brian can attest to that, right Brian? Bill your pics are totally rockin'!
  5. Pal Pal totally rocked my face off! I'd say it was one of my fav parks of the trip.
  6. DisneySea is sooo amazing. Thanks for reminding me how awesome it is Bill!
  7. Love the TR so far Tom (my fat chin and all!)...keep it going!
  8. I'm still bummed over missing the Magical Powder ride, but now I have something to look forward to if I ever go again. I think Adam and I just kinda forgot about it after we wandered over to the funky market place by the Ferris wheel with all the less than appetizing looking meat products for sale. Blechhh! I think one of them was actually cow brains. Maybe that's what the meat cow toy was for or something. We got our sushi with tuna, which was totally amazing by the way, and then walked back to the park, ate, and alas it was time to go. No Magical Powder for us. Anyway, Lagunasia was a definite highlight of the trip!
  9. White Canyon was actually pretty smooth where I sat near the back IIRC. All that extra rollbar/cage padding was intimidating looking at first and prepared me for the worst, and then when it was over I was like that wasn't that bad. Not that it was great or anything, but I've certainly ridden much rougher wood...like Jupiter lol. Now that was a total letdown.
  10. Hey nasai...good to see you here. You may not remember, but I rode Voyage with you at HWN and told you I was going on the Japan trip whereas you replied "You'll love it!". Well, you were right...I did!!! It was a most awesome country and trip I must say. Shane is right...White Cyclone was hands down the best wood of the trip with the very front being my fav spot. There was some really good floater air there. The back was a little rough for my tastes, but still pretty good too. Overall, I really liked Nagashima Spaland...so much so that I opted to miss going to get 3 extra credits at the zoo park just so I could stay and enjoy NS longer. So many fun things to do there! Playing the mushroom game with Steve, Rich, and Adam was a memory to cherish for-evs!
  11. Bill I'm enjoying your trip pics and review. Great stuff!
  12. Hey Peter...it was great fun hanging out with you in Japan! Thanks for the update on Balder. Oh and how's that g-force belt thingy working out? Did you get the stats downloaded/sorted out yet?
  13. I really didn't think the Q was that bad of a park. I think it's like Bill said - just a combination of earlier events in the day that made people disgruntled with it. It actually had some really unique parts to it I would've loved to explore had we had more time there. Plus, I did get to experience another one of those "flat rides of death" I've never seen in the states...Moonraker. Something like a trabant meets a sit down round- up. It was a pretty sick/sweet ride. Anyway, I've had far worse park experiences than the Q (like SFA for example lol).
  14. Hey Brian how were those Korean drop towers? Did you enjoy them as much as Blue Fall?
  15. Yeah I want some of what R&E are taking. Edit: Woo my 100th post!
  16. Hmmm you know those Disney girls do look familiar. Could it be they were at Universal following us around at Jaws? Maybe I'm just dreaming. I'll have to double check the pics when I can get them uploaded. I miss EVERYONE! Hope to see you in Europa next year.
  17. Wooo I made it into the Splash Montserrat photo! That was a really fun flume...well *ALL* of the flumes in Japan were fun lol. I've never experienced any as cool as those were. Spiral drops, airtime drops, backwards through tunnels with blacklight effects, not to mention getting totally drenched on that one at Space World! Bill it was a LOT of fun hanging out with you!
  18. This trip rocks. Hi Coasterzone chat buds.
  19. Have fun Shawn! Shout outs to Freddie...coasterzone reprezent.
  20. I grew up going to OL every summer. Shame it's gone. It's demise has really hurt us here in Nashville with our tourism. Thanks for those pics. I've been tempted to hop the fence and walk down the GRR on several occasions.
  21. I'll be in Houston on the weekend of the 11th after treking around Texas for a week. My hopes have risen. Thanks for the updates Jason! By the way, what's up with the steel on the first drop (right hand side of picture) where it jogs?
  22. There's a couple of coaster credits around Cherokee, N.C. too if you're interested. Wouldn't be a far drive from Maggie Valley.
