Shane I did see that PBS special about Opryland when it aired last year. It was done really well and would be awesome if you posted it here! The dvd is available for $75 at: http://www.wnpt.org/productions/memories/opryland/index.html It mainly focused on the performers at the park, but did have some ride segments.

Out of curiousity, what's the blue fabric hanging behind the Timberliner car? It looks like it has medals or little country flags hanging on it.

Anyone have a copy of the Werner Stengel book willing to sell? It's out of print and the reprint date keeps getting pushed back further than forever. Edit to add I'm not paying anywhere even close to $1000 bucks for it like it's listed on Amazon in used condition.

Speaking of Coney Island, here's a collection of images from an Astroland postcard. How many of the attractions/images in the letters can you name? Can you name them all?

Thanks Shawn Damon and same back to you too! At least you can check out the seaside there in Myrtle Beach even if the Pavilion has been bulldozed. Last I heard it was still a vacant lot. You definitely should go to Morey's and Santa Cruz though. I think you'd really like them both!
