Argh must you keep on going with it? Its obvious that the General Public does not care as much as the enthusiast community does. Does this mean that this ride would do better than a B&M hyper or something of the like? Of course not that logically makes no sense. But shouldn't you be happy that your getting a new ride? Its better than losing a ride like several of the Cedar Fair parks seem to be doing.

Assuming that your "lines of the same length" observation is correct, this suggests that Xcelerator is roughly twice as popular as Boomerang. Thanks for illustrating my point! Umm yea pretty much. How in God's name do the GP know that first of all this is a relocated ride? Oh thats right a whining fan boy tells them and ruins it all. The GP don't only not know they don't really care. Half of them wouldn't know the difference between a "high quality" ride as compared to a "low quality ride" This is why you see at Knotts especially lines of the same length for a vekoma boomerang and an intamin Rocket coaster.

You guys do realize that when people say that the GP is dumb they mean they have zero coaster and theme park knowledge. I think this is an excellent move by cedar fair. I have had the pleasure of experiencing a Vekoma flyer and if this is anything like PGA's stealth then I dont see what you gus are complaining about. It is a new coaster after all and a nice addition to the park. It may not be a new coaster but to the GP it may as well be.....Basically I mean to say that I dont get what you guys are complaining about. Looks like a nice coaster and hey its a new coaster if nothing else.

My buddy Ethan told me about the site. I never really stuck around, then one night I was looking up videos saw the TPR ones and now I hang around pretty often.

Hey Guys, I didn't know if it was against protocol to post that your going to a park or if your just supposed to post pictures or what. Anyway I will be there today checking out Sierra Sidewinder construction and getting my Maxx Pass . Me and my brother will be breaking our marathon record as well. (We have 23 on the matterhorn so we're going for 24 on Xcelerator) I will be wearing a black sweatshirt that says "Hawk" on it or a T-Shirt that is black and says "Xcelerator" on it. Jeans and stuff as well (your typical enthusiast!) . So I hope to bring back a picture or two!

One of my friends drove past the mountain on Thursady and said he saw it testing so at least we know its working.... Now it is up to Six Flags to open it today. Robb, Elissa have you guys seen it running today?

I'll be going to Knotts tomorrow and getting my Maxx Pass I still wont be able to get on Ghostrider... havent been on it since I was 8... I want to see if it really is as rough as everyone says... Nice pictures looks like you had fun.

I have...mixed feelings about this change. I love that they will be able to re-market this and get tons of stupid GP who think its a brand new ride. But I really would have liked to keep Griffon a little more unique for a while then made the change to floorless. Its a good idea but it just bothers me a bit is all....

I am a hard core floorless fan I think the switches that could be realistically made would be either.. Floorless to Twister or vice versa. Same with Floorless and Stand up or Twister and Stand up. I do not think it would be possible to go from Flyer to invert or vice versa because as already mentioned in this thread the amount of G's that would be forced upon you would lets say not be comfortable

^ I know there are a few guys on RCPRo going to the mountain tomorrow hopefully they will get some pictures. I find it funny that now that Psyclone is going (gone whichever) that people are coming out and saying how much they loved the ride. Especially for all the whining and complaining it got lol. I am sad that I never got my flashback credit but apparently I was not missing anything . Psyclone was terrible so I am glad that is going away as well. All in all I am very pleased with how Shapiro is handling this. Go Shapiro!

And why is SFMM in such deep crap right now? Because all they did was build thrill rides, and now half of them are not even open on any given day. Six Flags also does not have the funds to blow on thrill rides and coasters because they attract more teens than family's and as a general rule family's spend more than teens. I for one don't even eat in park anymore because its so expensive, however if its a family on vacation they are usually a little less tight fisted with their money. People whining for new rides is not going to help the matter either, Marine World has a good collection of coasters and flat rides. It appeals to more than just thrill seekers which in turn means more money. You have to think of it from a business standpoint because like it or not they are running a business. You complain because you haven't gotten a coaster since what was it now 01? Darien lake didn't get anything since 99! (Note that the park is no longer Six Flags but it proves my point) It really has not been that long and complaining about it isn't going to make it better.

^ Yes, I am sure that you would like a new coaster. But listening to people like us (younger enthusiasts) is what got them into this crap in the first place. They need more family area's not another huge thrill ride, I personally love the park not only because it holds my favorite roller coaster but because I felt like there was some family atmosphere. As I said before succesful businesses do not listen to people in our age group. As a general rule it just makes poor business sense.

Sadly it looks exactly the same as when I was there for Haunt I hope they will get started on this soon, however I do not believe they have a deadline as of yet. Correct me if I'm wrong.
