  1. If these hills provide airtime: I'm sure this will provide floater air as well:
  2. Elissa, I definitely agree with you on this one (especially after Montreal's La Ronde on the 2011 East Coast Trip)! We all definitely have our moments. In all seriousness, I can't imagine any North American parks taking on this type of stunt. With a lot of the knee-jerk reactions to minor issues, this wouldn't go over so well. I do have to give them credit for another creative marketing campaign though... This definitely caught my eye!
  3. It's great to see this park getting some TLC. I'm glad Cedar Fair decided to spend some money on it despite the events over the past few months. It seems to demonstrate they are serious about improving this park even though they can't just toss in a new major attraction this season.
  4. Hmmm... After Leviathan, I thought more B&M coasters would have the chain return in the track spine (instead of the separate return hanging below). I wonder if that was only doable due to Leviathan's extra-large spine size.
  5. Definitely well played! What a great way to really get the public talking about this new coaster.
  6. Wasn't there also a raft with 5 rows of 2 for a total of 10 people? Was that just a concept for the model in general? Or is this slide going to have 2 different raft styles going at the same time?
  7. My jaw dropped when I saw this video. The message across the P.A. system was saying one thing while this woman was yelling something completely different. I can definitely see how people would have listened to her, you like to think the staff know what they're talking about. If people had been properly evacuated right away, I wonder what the missing/death toll would be today. How did SO MANY things FAIL on this trip? No (late) Muster Drill, going off course (is no one notified when a half-billion dollar ship goes off course - especially more than once?), crazy captain abandons ship, staff obviously not trained properly...
  8. That's why I need to get them to order me an extra one! Haha, brand new out of the shrink wrap right into my basement in front of the big screen. Now that's comfort! Can't wait to go over that first drop in the back row with those clamshell restraints. Not sure if everyone her caught this; they hope for Leviathan's lift to go around 4.5m per second (50% faster than Behemoth's). Even though this is chain lift, it's going to be a quick ascent to the top!
  9. Maybe I can convince the park to order an extra "test seat" for me just for that purpose!
  10. The first train is on site. The second train will arrive in February. And the third train will arrive in March.
  11. If everything I've heard in the past didn't persuade me to avoid CCL ships/cruises... This did! This is such a huge incident, it's hard to wrap my head around such a huge ship "sinking". Looking at the pictures taken from the satellites just blew my mind. It really helped emphasize the scale of this accident.
  12. I've been to King's Dominion a few times now. I think it's a really nice park. It's a shame that Volcano has the capacity issues it does. It's a fun ride (even if it is short) When it ran with 3 trains, was capacity any better than it is now? Would banning loose articles improve intervals? Hopefully WindSeeker helps increase foot traffic on that side of the park. The last few times I've been, most attractions on that side have been a walk-on (or close to it). The light package should help draw people over there after sunset as well.
  13. Hmmm... Very interesting. Very curious as to the restraint they'll be using. I'm making my first trip to Hershey this summer and can't wait to get on this! The more construction/progress I see, the more excited I get. I know some don't like the look of the lift, but it sure is a massive, impressive structure.
  14. I loved this coaster when it was at Magic Mountain and definitely need to make a trip to SFNE (again) to ride this with the new trains. Hopefully they improve the ride experience.
  15. ^It looks odd from almost every angle, lol. I guess the important part isn't the look, it's the way it rides!
  16. These fresh, made-from-scratch burgers can be found at Canada's Wonderland as well in Coasters. They're fantastic! I had them twice during the 2011 season and enjoyed them both times. The entire meal (burger, fries & drink) was a bit expensive around 17 dollars (if I remember correctly) but the taste was a HUGE improvement over the previous burger options.
  17. If they go the way they did with Behemoth... They called the name of the top bidder and asked them to come forward and pick their seat. They continued calling names one at a time and let people choose their preferred seat. I believe a couple people out of the entire group asked to wait for the 2nd or 3rd train (to get their preferred seat on a train). I'll try to find out the specifics of this auction. I like the idea of lining people up in the order in which they bid prior to getting in the station. Then allow them to pick their seats as soon as they're in the station to a max of 12 people per row (3 trains X 4 people each train). Seems as though it would be very efficient. I may just have to pass that idea along!
  18. First Rider Auction site has gone live as of this morning: Set up an account and start your bidding process here: https://leviathan.canadaswonderland.com/public/news/auction/bid.cfm Monitor current status of bids here: https://leviathan.canadaswonderland.com/public/news/auction/grid.cfm
  19. I would also like to add a vote for Riddler's Revenge at SFMM. Why bother having a staff member at the bottom of the stairs if you're still going to let the station fill right up? With Gold-Bot, we got "checked-in" at the bottom of the stairs and walked up into the station. It was PACKED full of people (single train operation) and we still waited 45 minutes. Why not have that staff member at the top of the stairs only letting in a couple trains worth of people. It took a bit but we figured out that the lines were on an angle so we moved towards the back of the train for a shorter wait. I couldn't imagine how long it would have taken to get our rides in if we had waited for one of the front few rows...
  20. This coaster really plays with the optical illusions. The main lift has that super large track (around 7 feet tall with the extra-large spine) and the large camelback is normal sized B&M track. It really is impressive though! It's amazing how much the front of the park has changed. I can't wait for this to open and see thousands of people walking along the course each day going from their cars to the park entrance.
  21. New pictures from today! Hammerhead hill is complete and they're well into the hammerhead turn. http://www.cwmania.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=50807#p50807 Completed cammelback. Hammerhead starting to go up around the entry plaza in front of the front gates. In just a few more months, the B&M roar will be echoing above peoples' heads as they walk from the parking lot towards the front gates!
  22. This coaster is the reason I've decided to do a full Pennsylvania trip next summer. I can't wait to get a couple rides in on this beast. I wasn't planning on a Hershey trip but I can't wait to check this great looking Intamin out. I absolutely love the supports for the lift hill. How many times are you going to post "I told you so!" here? There's lots of people on this forum that have been saying this is a great ride all along...
  23. Cold climate wine nasty? Ontario (Niagara) has AMAZING wines. And for a treat, our ice wine is great too! (If you like super-sweet wine) I had my first visit to Great Escape this summer and thought it was a beautiful park. I may have to go back to this park and include a stay at the resort. If I do, I'll be sure to have a sampling of their new additions.
  24. I'm so pleased with how quick construction is coming along. Looks like the hammerhead will be started by the weekend at this pace. I was told way back when the park was hoping to have most of the vertical construction completed by the end of December. Hopefully the weather holds out so it can be done by the end of January. Seeing all that track near the front gate is so impressive. I can only imagine the statement Leviathan will make once the layout is complete. It's going to be amazing watching B&M trains fly overhead by the front gate.
