No official announcement has come out yet. But that's what's happening and where it's going. -

Firstly, if indeed Dinosaurs Alive is coming next year, unless they take out something, there would be almost no room. They could built in the in the land inside Water Water canon which always a possibility. Nothing is being removed... Well, that's not completely true. The former Bedrock Aquarium has been removed. That area including the area that stretches all the way behind the former Nick area towards the birthday tent, is all available. That is where Dinosaurs Alive is going to go. LOTS of space. See satellite shot here: http://www.cwmania.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2243 And I'm trying to get confirmation about the cranes being on site. It matches the timeline I've been given for the lift to be complete by the end of October. -

Long brake run... a) Is to allow for 3 train operation by having a few blocks and the transfer track to the maintenance bays. This has been mentioned a few times. b) Is made so high in order to have a steep decline to increase the speed at which gravity allows the trains to move through the brakes. This will allow the trains to move quicker and thus justify 3 train operation. This information comes directly from park management. c) Is so high up as the station area is around 25 ft off the ground. It doesn't get very close to the ground so a higher station means the brakes are going to be higher up. The cost of adding an extra helix or two and a couple more airtime hills could be millions of dollars more (depending on how much more track is involved). Not to mention the space required to do so was not available without removing Dragon Fire. The park is committed to keeping as many older attractions as possible. Some of us appreciate parks that preserve their history and older rides for our enjoyment. I will also put the splash down in this comment. Just no space to do so. The park is considering options for the trench/valley of the first drop. I think I've been on only 1 or 2 roller coasters that have ever had audio working consistently. It barely worked on Italian Job when it opened and hasn't worked at all for many years. Please don't waste the money on gimmicks on what should be an amazing coaster on its own. As for a couple feet higher to break a record... Keep an eye out for stats that still have to be released. One or two of them may surprise you. The park hopes to have all footers poured by the end of October. If things go well, a lot of the vertical construction should be done by the end of December. -

It's a single chain. -

It's a bit more than just an extra couple of feet... An extra 76 feet in height equals over 150 feet of extra chain. I'd say that weight is a substantial sum. -

One time show each evening at 10pm. -
Steve, I have to mention that I am LOVING your trip reports! They really are helping me with the post-trip blues. It's also helping me describe the craziness that is a TPR trip to all my coworkers by taking them along the photo journey with me. Jo that wheel wasn't TOO bad... I wasn't laughing AT you, I was laughing WITH you. You just weren't laughing on the outside at the same time I was! I'm glad Shawn and I were able to teach all those riders how to ride Wooden Warrior properly. We JUST got that last, front row ride in before it was time to run back to the bus. And I can definitely check one more thing off my bucket list... Ride a Sky Coaster with Skycoastin' Steve! Can't wait until our paths cross again. Hopefully next year when you come up to Wonderland for Leviathan! Canadian (Skycoastin' Steve Fanboy) Nick

They've switched it up a bit since the first show. They do have a couple extra songs with effects on the mountain after the main show is done. As mentioned, the fountains are used much more in sync with the post-show songs that during the actual show. And when talking about adding attractions to Canada's Wonderland, I think people need to remember that Cedar Fair could add NOTHING and see continued attendance increases. The largest jump in attendance came with our Volaire. Last year we saw a retheme of the kids area and once again made the top of the list for seasonally attended parks. The GP won't have a clue that they're the same type of ride. I can't tell you how many people I know still come up to me thinking that Top Gun/Flight Deck is the best coaster ever (well, aside from Behemoth). 99% of the people that come to Wonderland don't have a clue there's better coasters at different parks. Sure, this may seem like an odd decision for the park but remember, Cedar Fair management has more of a say in what each park is getting that the individual parks do. The parks toss out their "wish list" and hope that corporate head office gives them the go-ahead. -

For what it's worth... Speaking with a few different members of park management this morning about the planning of this ride, it appears this ride was always intended to end up at Canada's Wonderland. Each of them mentioned that the planning stages of this coaster basically started around the year Behemoth opened. Whether you want to believe or not, that's the info I was provided with this morning. -

I don't think anyone is saying it'll the end of the world if it's similar to Behemoth. I'll be lined up riding it all season long next year! I'm ecstatic to be getting another great B&M addition to Wonderland. 6 years ago if you had asked me if I thought we'd ever get a B&M, my answer would be NEVER. Now we're getting a second one! I just hope we get a coaster that flips you upside down over the next few years -

It's like being a kid on Christmas Eve! We're all so excited to find out what this monster is going to be! I think it's great that people are discussing both sides. I agree that a 70ft taller version of Behemoth would be a bit of a let down (especially when we could use another great looper). I really do expect something that's going to offer some sort of different experience though! I can't imagine that B&M and Canada's Wonderland will disappoint us. -

As mentioned above, a lot of CWMania members are new and don't know any better. Everyone was once a "n00b", I just don't see why we have to put each other down? I've been a member on that site for years. I'm also an active member with TPR. Not everyone on all sites can know everything about everything. All I know is that CWMania has been providing the best coverage of Project 2012. I had the first pictures of supports. The first pictures of track. I must be doing something right... Canadian Nick -

Gah! I'm going to lose my mind! I provide high quality pictures for TPR and CWMania and I get "attitude" from a member from the other site because they thought I posted the pictures here before CWMania... Gah. It's my own home park and the Fanboys are driving me nuts! Anyways, at least I know all my TPR family appreciate the updates (and most over at the other site too)! Haha. And yes, I know a lot of you love my Canadian Nick stories as well! The "Haunt booth" has been placed at the front of the park again near the fountains. Terror of London will be the new Haunt this year. I've heard it's going to be just as well done as Blood on the Bayou was last season. Just a day and a half until the big announcement! The "GC SEATS" has been there for over a month (maybe longer). And I'm amazed that people continue to break park rules by taking camera's on rides. Especially real coaster fans that are suppose to respect the park and their rules...
