  1. Don't expect to see Splash Works expand in to SkyRider's spot
  2. Splash Works overhaul in 2015 with new slides. Next big coaster in 2016. Oh, and take some extra laps on the coasters at the park as one of them may need to come down for future additions/expansion
  3. Projected capacity once the ride is running smoothly is aroun 560 pph. It was just confirmed that Guardian will have a zombie theme for Halloween Haunt!
  4. To expand: The trains shuffle side-to-side quite a bit but it won't hurt you. It's just a big awkward/uncomfortable but it only lasts a few seconds. Once you're in the mountain it's perfectly fine along the course. The cars rotate 90 degress once you enter and remain that way for the duration of the ride until you return to the station. And don't avoid the ride if there's a bit of a line out of the mountain. There isn't much queue space inside (only 2 switchbacks) so I would expect a full queue to be around 30 minutes max when the ride is cycling properly. And for those interested, you can check out the finale spoiler here so I don't ruin it for those that want to be surprised (I don't seem to be able to add a "spoiler" here): http://www.cwmania.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=59769#p59769
  5. It's a great ride! Perfect for families. It's a bit short. The ride never stops moving. It's basically a continuous set of screens throughout the entire ride. The finale is "bigger" than I was expecting. The trains track a bit rough on the outdoor coaster section (shake back and forth quite a bit) but are perfectly fine inside the mountain. The guns seem very accurate. Each gun gets it's own "colour" on the screen when shooting. Pano shot of the queue area inside he mountain
  6. Opening day for Wonder Mountain's Guardian! Triotech staff are getting the first rides before the park opens.
  7. From Canada's Wonderland's Facebook page: Norm Pirtovshek, General Manager of Canada's Wonderland and Richard Zimmerman, COO of Cedar Fair take the inaugural run on Wonder Mountain's Guardian.
  8. Senior management from the park have commented that this is "number 17" (referring to our coaster count). Don't expect any inversions. And the surprise finale should catch a lot of people off guard (maybe not enthusiasts, but general guests for sure).
  9. There was a lot of testing being done yesterday. It appeared as though they were sending them every 30-45 seconds at some points.
  10. ^The divers actually use the stairs in the mountain and go out via an access door directly behind the diving podium.
  11. ^That's rediculous. The site is down due to switching servers. It will be back up ASAP. A pile of dirt has been on the south side of Minebuster for at least a season or two. It does appear as though there has been more dirt moved there recently. And the blue/orange structure seen being built in the parking lot is not for a 2015 or 2016 attraction.
  12. Construction update has been posted on Canada's Wonderland's Facebook page. Lots of foundation and mountain work being done along with track, brakes and lots of drive wheels/motors. Two of the captions describe items in this delivery arrived from Germany.
  13. Used water slide pieces have arrived at Canada's Wonderland. They appear to be pieces of the Tantrum slides that were never used at Ontario Place's Soak City: http://www.cwmania.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2708
  14. We also enjoyed the empty park tonight. We sat in all 4 "corners" of Gatekeeper and all of the vests stayed loose. It was VERY comfortable. A bit of rattling/vibrations in some seats in the ride's valleys but otherwise smooth. I think we got 6 laps in total. Also did a front and back row ride on Dragster. Single Magnum, Maverick and Raptor front front row rides. Also took a spin on Maxair, Windseeker and Wicked Twister. We also had two AMAZING rides on Millenium Force tonight. One 3rd row and one last row. I've never had airtime on it like tonight. It felt like it was running VERY fast. The airtime was much more intense than the floater air I'm very use to on it. I wish it would always run like this!
  15. I'm on a quest to find a good song on Alanis Morisette's album "Havoc and Bright Lights" to keep me busy until tomorrow's announcement.
  16. ^That's unfortunately true however, Sledgehammer has undergone 2 major overhauls/fixes this season. I've been told since reopening a few weeks ago, it's running better than it has in years. So hopefully these fixes are permanent and the ride will be reliable going forward. The problem is that Huss has not supported the ride in years so the park has been on their own making repairs along the way.
  17. Thunder Run is not being removed. It will still be running in the mountain with our 2014 addition next season.
  18. Maybe something new for 2014. Or Maybe something for this year's Halloween Haunt.
  19. CWMania had the opportunity to get a bit more info on Starlight Spectacular - Illumination of Water: And Canada's Wonderland has been doing unique shows for many years. Nights of Fire in Arthur's Bay is a personal favorite of mine. It was a combination of fire, water screens, lasers, fireworks and live actors. Also, in 2000 and 2001 they did "The Eruption" which turned Wonder Mountain in to an active Volcano each night. They're always looking for new things to add! I hope it does well and gets rolled out to Kings Island and Kings Dominion next season.
  20. It's time for an update of some of the new things around the park for the 2013 season. Check out all the pictures here: http://www.cwmania.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=56398#p56398 International Street has been spruced up with lots of paint and new signs. New funnel cake sign. If you remember, this corner use to be a sci-fi themed shop back when Paramount owned the park. It`s been completely repainted and looks great. The entire store has been opened up. You would walk through a "portal" from the main gift shop to the sci-fi area that is shown in the far end of this picture. Speaking of paint and freshening up, Time Warp has been repainted. The supports are a solid dark blue from the bottom to the top with the track being painted a darker yellow. No more faded teal up top. It's a little hard to tell from this picture, but Silver Streak's supports are being repainted a light gray colour. The pictures make it seem like it's a white primer. Sledgehammer's overhaul is ongoing. The main shaft is still missing. Hopefully we'll be able to give you all an update soon. SkyRider has gotten some paint-love too. Notice the retro logo on the bottoms of the trains. A FastLane path has also been added for this season. Brand new seat coverings and lap bars for Minebuster. It actually wasn't too bad today, although we did ride in the front row. From Minebuster to Behemoth... Behemoth gave us LOTS of airtime as usual. The sunny, warm spring day and no trims made for a great ride. We did notice that the vibrations are still there like previous years. It doesn't seem as though the repairs were made as mentioned last fall. Behemoth gave us LOTS of airtime as usual. The sunny, warm spring day and no trims made for a great ride. We did notice that the vibrations are still there like previous years. It doesn't seem as though the repairs were made as mentioned last fall. A FastLane path has also been added to Timber Wolf Falls so you can cool off without the wait this summer. A few of the parks old trees had to be removed but they were replaced with this nice area along with a new sitting area for the near-by restaurant. You can still check out a piece of the removed trees in the Starbucks. All you need to do is pull up a chair. The new movie playing in the Action FX Theatre. And the pricing for the above mentioned new film. This has replaced "You Go Grill" in the Action Zone. And right beside it is one of the new locations of Beaver Tails! The other location is in KidzVille near the antique cars. In case you're curious, here are the flavors available and associated prices. Mmmmmm.... Delicious! They've also added options to roll your ice cream cookiewich in at the Cookie Cafe. Dose anyone know what's missing in this picture? Oh, a bottle of Coke will now run you .00! And vitamin water is .75! The wax candles made from your hand mold have returned to the park. This is located in KidzVille near Taxi Jam. Behemoth vs Leviathan! Leviathan was running great today. FAST with no trims! TV's have been popping up in queues around the park like this one in Leviathan's queue. None were playing anything today. A countdown clock has been added to the front of Leviathan's station. The clock counts down from 45 seconds as soon as the restraints open after the train returns to the station. There are two of these. One for the left 2 seats and one for the right 2 seats. It shows when the restraint has been pulled/pushed down at least 2 clicks. WindSeeker was testing. And eventually opened for us to enjoy a great view of the park. And here is the new evac-platform in case we get stuck 300 ft in the air. Once attached around the tower, the arms can rotate all the way around on these wheels. Here is the basket you`ll hop in to and be lowered down in 2 at a time. And the controls for the evac-platform. And finally, the fountains! The bottom of the fountains has been painted black. I`m not sure I really like it... The original fountains are all still there along with the new LED lights that were added last season. There are 3 sets of 8 ``water canons`` that have been added down the middle. This picture really gives a good perspective of how big these new fountains are compared to the much smaller original one (on the right side of this picture). Cirque Ambiente returns June 22 in the Wonderland Theatre. And don`t forget about Victoria Day Fireworks on Sunday, May 19!
  21. Hey all, I'll be making my first trip to SFOT from Toronto soon. I'm looking at going on Monday, June 17. Are schools out by this date? I'm just trying to make final plans as to whether or not to pre-purchase Flashpass/Q-Bot or just wait until the day of. I know one of the previous posts showed that NTAG is only included in the Platinum Flashpass. Does anyone know if it's a single pre-booked ride? Or is it unlimited rides with Flashpass? Thanks in advance! I'll be sure to post more detailed questions for all you SFOT experts once closer to my travel date.
  22. True the ride does nothing for me but they are huge people eaters, plus it is a great view up top. Despite each cycle taking a large number of passengers (64), my understanding is the average cycle time (unload, load & ride cycle) is about 6 minutes. So your actual throughput on WindSeeker is only around 640 people per hour. I'm surprised it's still down as I was told a large contributing factor to the Knott's issue was human/operator error. I wonder if more issues have been found since hearing this back around Haunt.
  23. The administration running Cedar Fair now is VERY different from that of the late 90s/early 00s. I don't think you'll see too many major coaster additions in similar timelines any time soon. Heck, the last major coaster for Cedar Point was Maverick in 2007. Something is coming to Splash Works for 2013 (I think people may be a little "off" with the waterslide idea though...). Apparently something is happening with the fountains now as well. I would expect to see general park improvements and additional "premium experiences" that will continue to bring in additional revenue.
