There's about 300 000 led lights strung up on the trees and buildings along International Street. They're all the warm white leds. The real show is the digital projection on Wonder Mountain. It's really a great show. And the lights in the fountains have also been replaced with led lights and are synchronized with the rest of the show. They really make the fountains pop as they can fade/cycle through millions of colours. It's nice to have an actual show instead of just a walk-through experience. I stood on the bridge in front of Wonder Mountain last night and got all of these pictures: http://www.cwmania.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=252 Next time I go I'll be sure to stand in front of the fountains to get an overall view of the entire show. -

Grizzly was actually modeled after Wilde Beast at Canada's Wonderland (built a year earlier), that was modeled after the famous Coney Island Wildcat -

I guess it's now a done deal! The San Francisco Giants just won the series. Looks like all those in Texas will be riding the “San Francisco Giant” at some point. -

From the IntimidaTour this year, we got a backstage walk around Griffon and our guide specifically mentioned that the trains were too heavy for 10-across seating. The solution was to make them floorless. -

And yes, that was SNOW in some of those pictures... We had about a half hour of almost blizzard-like conditions! -

If you didn't ride the flats at Canada's Wonderland, you REALLY missed out. We don't have the greatest coasters, but our flat collection is quite possibly the best in North America! Hopefully next time you make it up you'll be able to give them all a spin. We do love our Behemoth, after riding Diamondback and Carowind's Intimidator, I can definitely say Behemoth has the best air time. I'm disappointed you didn't have a great ride on Vortex. Rode it last night and it gave an extremely smooth ride. I've ridden Flight Deck/Top Gun (clone of Vortex) at King's Island numerous times and every time have found it to be much more rough than Vortex. I guess you just got a bad ride on it. Wild Beast also was running very well last night, could have easily marathoned it without any issues. And as for the Bat, it's definitely not the worst Boomerang out there but it can give rough rides. Hopefully under the ownership of Cedar Fair, North America's highest attended seasonal park will continue to receive great coasters like Behemoth. Glad you thought we have a really nice park! It's definitely a huge reason why so many families come back year after year. Hope you get to come back sometime soon! -
TPR's Middle America and IntimidaTOUR 2010 Trips!

ECB was a GREAT way to end the IntimidaTour trip! I had a blast during all our ERT sessions and I don't remember the last time I had such a great time in a water park. I was a part of the International TPR takeover (Canadians, Brits, and Aussies) and we laughed the whole time. And thank you Robb and Elissa for setting up the TPR Quest game! It was a great way to break up the day and I love seeing my Italian Job Turbo Coaster RC Mini every morning Thanks to everyone that helped me out that day! Having ridden I305 both pre and post - trims, I can definitely say this ride has now made my top 10 list. In April we made the 12 hour trek from Toronto just to get a ride in when the trim rumours started. We only rode it once or twice in a row and felt that was more than enough. The relocating of trims (not addition of trims...) has made the ride MUCH better in my opinion. The twister section is much more enjoyable at this slightly lower speed and you get great air on the second hill where the trims were originally located. I know I did about 14 rides during ERT and there's no way I could have ever done that back in April (even though it was a walk-on the entire day we were there). The new soft OTSR don't hurt either! -

Because Canada's Wonderland makes a KILLING off charging separate admission for the Haunt. Why give it away free when people will pay for it? Many major parks charge extra for Halloween events. You also have to remember Paramount actually started the Haunt an an upcharge event. Why would CF make it free if the cash is rolling in? Someone has to pay for Cedar Point's big attractions... -

The same job posting details were up either last year or the year previous. It seems to be a standard height they put on those job applications, at least for Canada's Wonderland. Stopped by the park today for Behemoth ERT and Splash Works. Had a GREAT time. Nothing new around Vortex. Just the same red-tipped stakes in and around the pond. And the Behemoth event will be great from the rumblings I've heard. Definitely something to look forward to. Hopefully it will be well attended to ensure this type of event continues in the future. -

So there's been a lot of drama surrounding fan sites for Canada's Wonderland lately. I think it's time to open up a great chat right here on TPR! There's LOTS of Canadians on this site, so I think it's time we start chatting about Canada's largest amusement park. There's lots going on around the park this year and potential signs of work for years to come. Let's talk about our home park and have a spot for those who have never visited to ask any questions they may have. Apparently the park in considering holding an official enthusiast event this year! I know Club TPR has already mentioned any future events and it looks like it will actually happen! Hopefully all pulls through and more Wonderland Donkey Lovers will get to visit my home park. -

From what I've been told, it's VERY difficult to program this ride. It can take months to get it exactly the way they want it. So unfortunately they can't just pre-program a bunch of different ride cycles and mix them up. -

It's not intense but it's definitely a fun ride that you can re-ride (unlike some flats out there). The sounds and visuals from this ride are definitely a show-stopper. People watch it go all the time. -

We do have an awesome lineup of flats/thrill rides! Hopefully Cedar Fair treats us well with our strong attendance and revenue with some equally awesome coasters. -

Not sure how many people know this, but Canada's Wonderland and Huss Rides installed the only Jump 2 a few years back. http://www.hussrides.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=110&Itemid=169 Since installation, the ride has been plagued with downtime. This culminated last year when the ride went down just after the season started and was left SBNO for the rest of the entire season. Many rumours went around stating the ride would be removed this off season. However, I am pleased to say that Sledgehammer is up and running once again. The ride cycle has been tweaked slightly but it's riding better than ever! Hopefully the repairs done will prove to make this a reliable ride that other parks will consider installing in the future. Hopefully those of you that haven't had the chance to make it up North, will one day have a chance to try out this great thrill ride. -

Is this ride, Swing of Siam, still there? Still here. Just called "Swing of the Century" now.
