Plans for 09

^^ I was working 40 hours a week when I started working 10 years ago as a busboy in the restaurant of the golf course I used to play at. That was during the summer though. I don't think there are any summer regulations. If I remember correctly, people under 16 can't work more than 8 hours a day and can't work past 10PM on school nights - 12 PM on weekends. ^ I agree with Colin. When I started getting into this I was a poor college kid that had high aspirations when I saw people like larrygator getting to 5 parks in a weekend, or Robb traveling around the world. The first full summer I had as an enthusiast, I hit 4 new parks, and I believe 6 overall with multiple visits to Dorney and Great Adventure, and I had a job that paid more than minimum wage. Plus you have to remember I was about 19 or 20 at the time so I was able to drive myself around. I would say just hit up a couple of parks for now - you have plenty of time to go to the other places in your lifetime. Don't get too disappointed if you aren't able to do everything on your list. -

My job is yielding pretty well for me right now. And as long as I don't see a steep drop in sales, I'm saving money for a trip for next year.

New Ride from Gerstlauer
Hercules replied to Olov's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It has Star Flyer potential. -
Not unless he got a round trip ticket to Lehigh Valley International Airport and either rented a car or catches a bus to Hershey. He could then go back to Allentown that night, hit up Dorney on Saturday, and then fly back Sunday. It would be a little bit more cash, but it would be another day at a park too.

So wait..... do I actually have a reason to visit King's Island next year? -

It's Robb Alvey. It is his site. He can do what he wants. Besides, I found it pretty funny. How can you guys say it is a CONFIRMED GCI when there hasn't been any confirmation? It is a speculated GCI. They could be building outhouses for all you know. -

We are in a global economy. That is all I have to say. -
How much would you pay to see Barry get his butt handed to him?

13 - 16 million for a coaster is cheap? I would say that is about average to slightly above average for a major coaster from one of the big 2 in the coaster industry. -
The whole "Credit" system.
Hercules replied to HHN Dylan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
A credit is a coaster. If you have been on 100 different coasters, you have 100 credits. 76 degrees is the record for a wood coaster. There are coasters out there that have 95 degree drops, past vertical. -

There was someone on another site that asked the same questions about Six Flags Great America. There is no public transportation will be be less than about 3 hours each way. -
Ballparks! Your favorite/least favorite?
Hercules replied to CoasterEricHP's topic in Random, Random, Random
I would argue that it is not. I prefer to call it a modern day dump. -
I don't have any pictures because my camera is broken, but, for my birthday: I had a Sprecher Black Bavarian with my Jamaican Barbeque Seitan and Vietnamese Bruschetta. Then I picked up a vegan cheesesteak and washed that down with a Golden Monkey and a Yuegling Light Lager.

^ Shea is just a piece. I mean, it has a "place in my heart", but I can't wait until it is gone. I read an interesting Wall Street Journal article this weekend about how new ballparks is a reason why AL teams have flourished in success both economically and on the field over the past couple of decades. I'll have to find it. -

One decent coaster? I'm pretty sure it is just a collection of crap. I absolutely loved the park itself though. -

Technically, it would be a Florida oligopoly
