  1. Actually, no they didn't. Plans have to be submitted to local planning commissions for approval, by way of local ordinances. Anything that is submitted becomes public record. Explained much better than what I had explained.
  2. Scott - who knows. Maybe we are the dumb ones here. For all we know, they will build one and call it Laser Snake Horse or something.
  3. ^ And wasn't something similar to that said like 20 pages ago? I've completely given up on the speculating.
  4. Forget God and puppies. You don't mess with manatees
  5. Well, they do have to get approval for it before they start building it, so they would have to tell someone about it....
  6. Just like with Roller Soaker, I am very skeptical when it comes to combining a roller coaster and water effects, other than the clearly popular B&M splashdowns.
  7. 90% of the stuff on Wikipedia is about as real as Laser Snake Horse.
  8. What a great cause. I will be sure to throw a little something in. I'm very willing to give money to something like this, as I am very involved with a cat rescue organization in my area (Forgotten Cats) and foster cats until they find a new home. And I'm involved with various dog trasport and rescue organizations who pull dogs from kill shelters in the south and transport them up to new homes in the north. I'm all about the poor homeless animals!
  9. How bad do the Bulls need a center not named Noah?
  10. I mean, I love puppies, but......
  11. Wow. Get over yourself. Anyway, I've been doing a little bit of thinking over the past couple of days. How many time have we been surprised over the last decade when it comes to the Super Bowl? Well, first it was the Rams-Titans. Wait, the Rams and the Titans in the Super Bowl? WTF? And then the Rams winning it all after being a perennially bad team. Then, the next season, the favored Rams lost to the once lowly New England Patriots, and some kid by the name of Tom Brady. Then last year, the 18-0 Patriots, looking for their 4th Super Bowl win, got beat out by an underdog Giants team. What does all of this mean? It means that we can't be certain of the outcome. It seems like every year a majority of analysts and fans get sucked into the same spell. From Week 8 on, everyone has their new stonecold locks to make it to the Super Bowl. This year, it was the Giants and the Titans, to a New York, New York Super Bowl, then the Giants-Titans again, then the Giants and Titans hiccupped...... it happens every year. Then it seems like we are surprised every year. There is no certainty at all in the NFL. But it just keeps coming back to me, "How can Pittsburgh lose?" Then I think back to the other years I mentioned, and back to seasons past. "Who can stop the Bucs?" "How in the world will the Giants beat the Patriots?" "There is no way the Cowboys won't make it to the playoffs"..... and the list goes on. With this said, I have to say that I have just had a feeling about the Cardinals for some reason over the past couple of days. Do I still think the Steelers will win? Yes. "How can they lose?" But something just doesn't seem right. If I were a betting man, I would pick the Steelers. If I were a gambling man, I would pick the Cardinals. The moral of this story is, Pittsburgh fans, please don't be jerks either way. (This also goes out to my friend Satchboogie3 in regard to the Patriots) If the Steelers win, don't go around touting them as being the greatest ever in a rub it in your face fashion. Or go around saying "I told you so." And if they lose, please don't cry and say "The Cardinals didn't even belong in the playoffs!" With the way the system is, the Cardinals have just as much of a right to be in the Super Bowl as the Steelers. I'm not saying that Steelers fans are a great deal like the majority of Patriots fans I heard crying last year that the Giants didn't deserve to win, and that Tom Brady is the best thing since, well, anything, ever. I'm just saying, stay classy Pittsburgh.
  12. I was shopping at the Montgomery Mall in Montgomeryville a couple Saturday's ago and the trophy was there. I couldn't believe how many people were there in Phillies stuff just for the trophy. The Phanatic was there, and I just assumed that there were a couple of players there signing stuff. When I looked down to the first level, and all I saw was a trophy, and a 2 hour line to get to it, I was in shock. It will be across the street from my house on Saturday, at the Henning's supermarket in Harleysville if anyone is near and interested in going there to see it.
  13. I know that my idea of a vacation isn't rush rush rush.
  14. ^ Just remember, nothing is confirmed for 2010. It is best case. It could easily turn into 2011 or 2012.
  15. ^ That is the winner for me too. I was expecting a little something other than the ride op saying "Hold onto your hat."
  16. Wait. Williams Grove wasn't in New Hampshire?
  17. It really isn't that big of a surprise, but it is really nice to end the speculation and look forward to the ride being in a good hands.
  18. I really like Orlando, but I just don't see it yet. I think they are at least 2 years away. And I still just can't see LeBron getting back. It seems like he does it by himself every night. Eventually he is just going to have to burn out, or just plain not come through.
  19. The thing is though, the public doesn't know that it is crap unless they have traveled else where and ridden other rides. This may be the first boomerang people in that area have seen and they are thinking "A ride that goes forward AND THEN BACKWARD! HOLY CRAP!"
  20. I would rather take a chance that something good will happen. If nothing were at least being attempted, it would just be a big, litter-filled field with rides on it for years.... Disgusting.
  21. The world doesn't revolve around amusement parks. Plus, there won't just be condos, there is a plan for a city-owned but privately operated amusement park set up on the Boardwalk. There are a ton of things that need to be discussed and drawn up though, which makes everything very unlikely. http://www.brooklynpaper.com/stories/32/3/32_3_mm_coney_main.html I just kind of feel like there is going to be a big empty lot there for a very long time. Progress needs to be made on the site ASAP, or else it will turn into a bad idea.
  22. I know that a lot of people are very upset about the whole Astroland thing, but I really do see this as a great opportunity for the city and Coney Island. Granted, there will be a lot of debate, time, money and planning, but it would be a great start to cleaning up the area. Sure, a lot of the nostalgia is gone, but, honestly, I don't really care that much about it. In my one trip to Coney, I absolutely hated the environment. And, of course some very good rides are gone now, but the rides and attractions that really matter are still around (Cyclone, Wonder Wheel, independents like El Dorado). I like the idea of development in this area. I'm sure it won't happen for a while, but I really hope that it all goes through.
  23. I love me a good boomer. Or should it be, I love me a good 'rang? Screw it. No sense in trying to make a Boomerang sound cool. I love me a boomerang.
  24. Yeah my bubble was burst a while ago just taking a deeper look at things. Clearly, I shouldn't try to be Sherlock Holmes.
