  1. Fun event. Great turn out. I had a lot of fun. Great pictures.
  2. I definitely wasn't expecting anything huge. I don't see any substantial amount of money going into this park.
  3. I totally get what you guys are saying, and I agree. It was rushed, and it wasn't really their style. And yes, I think NBC had a lot to do with it also. Overall, NBC did a very poor job with the entire event, not just the halftime, but I will save that rant for another thread. I just don't think that anyone brought their A game last night. I understand that it is rushed, but they had so much time to prepare for it all. Things probably went wrong, but I just think it all could have been a little better.
  4. Wow. Forget little kids. That actually kind of frightens me.
  5. Yeah I am a fan. I just think that he is a shell of what he used to be though. I mean, he definitely had a lot of energy, but he kind of made a little bit of a fool of himself up there for the first minute or so. I think "Working on a Dream" was a little out of place. I can understand that he wanted to get that in there for a little bit of promotion, but in order to get a great performance wrapped up in 12 minutes, I think they have a lot better material than that. I love "Born to Run", but it would have been great if he were able to belt out the note. He was pretty out of tune, and pretty much struggling up there. I had no problem with "Glory Days", which I think kind of made the performance. Yet, lead sax on cowbell? Lead sax on cowbell? Come on man, get rid of the big sax section and let the man play. Maybe I'm being a little critical, but that is just it. I just didn't think it was what it could have been, and feel short of what it was supposed to be. With that said, it was definitely better than Rolling Stone and Tom Petty, but nothing close to Prince or U2.
  6. In my opinion, The E Street Band blew pretty hard last night. My favorite would have to be Michael Jackson, when he stood there for 2 full minutes without doing or saying anything. CLASSIC!
  7. Forget about the 49ers?
  8. I get your point. But with golf, even I get distracted by a leaf blowing that I get out of the corner of my eye. I stick by my point too I guess. Though, I do agree with you that it is definitely different than a free throw. You got me on that.
  9. Eh. I could see how it could be a distraction if it is seen through a kickers peripheral vision. I think he has a little bit of a point. I'm just surprised he didn't say that the magical powers of the towels whipping in the air at the same time created a tidal force wind that blew the ball away from the center of the posts. EDIT: And when has anyone been proud of beating the Jets?
  10. ^ Of course. It doesn't really matter what people are waving when they are in the stands - dead chickens, pink fuzzy slippers, half-naked 36DD chested strippers - anything could potentially distract a kicker. The same thing goes for a basketball game with a guy at the line. It doesn't mean that the towels have magical powers or anything. It just means it's a distraction.
  11. I will also be there. I look forward to seeing you Matt. I will post my own update as well.
  12. Pretty much in the same form as I posted it a post up....
  13. Eh, I wasn't trying to get you not to. I kind of figured that it would want you to give me one even more. When I get it, I'll post a Photo TR of my first round of golf with it. I'll be sure to make it a nice rainy day, and take some nice extra large divots.
  14. I would rather go to Buffalo than have a yellow towel.
  15. And the entire state of New Jersey.... Look at me, I'm a hypocrite.
  16. Shouldn't they have won every championship since the creation of the towel? And I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh is comprised of a lot more things other than a yellow towel such as a rich industrial history, beautiful surroundings, and unfortunately a good amount of poverty. I just don't like it when people take it over the top either. I mean, I really like my sports, but Yankees fans should not be shooting Red Sox fans and vice versa, people should not be hailing towels, and people certainly should not be making harsh comments about where people live.
  17. That is fine if it is a symbol and is a part of tradition. Every sports team has a logo, a mascot, a symbol.... something that makes the team, the fans and the organization what it is. I'm completely fine with that. However, I find it completely irrational to believe that a towel actually holds this force over anything, considering it is a towel with no feelings, or super powers of any kind. If you are superstitious, and have a deep passion for the team, and really feel like you need a towel to help support your team because it is tradition, that is fine. But please don't actually think that a towel can influence what is going on at field level. That is like saying a cheese head - a big yellow block of foam - can influence a football game.
  18. Please read signature. This thread has gone to hell....
  19. At this point, I hope they lose now! I never knew that towels had such special powers. Now THAT is a typical response from a REDSKINS FAN who just moved to Philly 3 years ago. Thanks Joe. I too think that will be a nice addition to my golf bag. Though, I don't think I will display it. I will keep it nice and tucked away in one of the pockets.
  20. No. It was called Superman, and then repainted the next year and called Batman. And the one at Great Adventure opened first, but that was after Top Gun, but before Mr. Freeze.
  21. It is just a freakin' towel. I don't have anything to learn. I just picked the Steelers to win in a pool. I'm beating on the playing on the field, not a piece of fabric that I could dry my butt on when I get out of the shower. Believe me, I saw enough of them in Washington earlier in the season. The towels didn't do anything to make the Redskins lose. The Pittsburgh fans' noise level and Leftwich and the rest of the Steelers beat the Redskins, not the towels.
  22. Actually, that is all incorrect. I do believe the first inverted coaster was at Paramount's Great America, not the Six Flags Great America that you speak of. It was then Top Gun, and is now known as Flight Deck. The first flying coaster by B&M was built at Six Flags Great America, and I'm guessing that is the "inverted" coaster that you guys speak of.
  23. ^ It's a freakin' towel.
  24. I would much rather have a young, vibrant owner who is a fan of the game than an old, stone faced man who thinks of the 12 men on the bench as his investment.
