  1. Done and done! Have a magical day and good luck with your research!
  2. Mr. Six > MORE FLAGS, MORE FUN! It is great to see that Snyder can get over his ego a little bit, and go to something that might actually work to get Six Flags a little more recognizable in the home again.
  3. People actually forget that there were deaths. The geese.
  4. Who self promotes their birthday like this? I mean come on, really. Have a great day Mike.
  5. Not to put words into Robb and Elissa's mouths, but, they are just planning out the 2009 trips. Geeze!
  6. ^ Judging by his location, I would have to go with Patriots.
  7. It will be odd driving into Knoebels and not having that little coaster be the first ride that you see.
  8. Thanks Terrance! And that is freakin' funny. 3 days on the job and I was in beautiful Patterson, NJ yesterday to see a current client. Next Thursday I'll be heading down to DC, and back up to Baltimore to see a couple more current clients. Right now I'm sitting in my office, with a catalog and a notebook, taking notes and typing them into the computer as a cheat sheet. I feel like I'm in college again.
  9. So, I just figured that I would give an update. I just started a new job. I was at the other place that I had mentioned for about 7 months, and going off of the title, it was indeed dreaded. Just a horrible place to work. So, now, I have finished a 3-4 month job search again, that I conducted while working remotely in my new home office for my previous company. I am the new VP of sales at a great company, and have been here for about a week. The job is very travel intensive, but it is a great salary, very good commission structure, and all of my health benefits are paid for in full by the company! You never know how bad things are until you find something this great.
  10. Minus the beef stock, that looks like something that I would really enjoy! Good stuff Chuck.
  11. Please. Just a way to get some publicity. If there is anyone who knows how to play the press, it is Larry Flint.
  12. Brady's first season as a starter: 2843 yards, 63.9% completions, 18TD/12INT, 86.5 passer rating. Matt's current season: 3615 yards, 63.2% completions, 21TD/11INT, 89.2 passer rating. They could even finish with identical regular season records after their first season (11-5).... It's also worth noting Bledsoe had just signed his fat 10 year contract as the "star" of the Pats when Brady took over... Side note: I don't really care for the NFL or the Pats. But since I've known Matt and his brothers for a long time (Chatsworth High School/Northridge Litte League FTW), I have to follow him. Not to mention, in his second season and first full year as a starter, the Patriots went 9-7, losing to the Dolphins in the last game of the season. Sure, they won the Super Bowl the season before, so not making the playoffs the next year doesn't really mean to much, but Brady didn't singlehandedly do it all - Bledsoe came in during the AFC Championship when Brady got injured and put on a solid show to help them get to the Super Bowl. And Brady never would have gotten a shot unless Bledsoe didn't get leveled in that game against the Jets. But anyway, since a bunch of other people are doing their fight songs: Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! Fight for old D.C.! Run or pass and score -- we want a lot more! Beat 'em, Swamp 'em, Touchdown! -- Let the points soar! Fight on, fight on 'Til you have won Sons of Wash-ing-ton. Rah!, Rah!, Rah! Hail to the Redskins! Hail Victory! Braves on the Warpath! Fight for old D.C.! Yes, I know they didn't make the playoffs, but I am still loyal. And I like a Colts - Giants Super Bowl this year, with the Falcons and Ravens as possible surprises.
  13. I was getting a little annoyed at the fact that everyone was focusing on the launched aspect. However, I started to think - Does Gravity Group have something up their sleave? I mean, why would they have that as a feature and marketing plug unless they have a little something in the works?
  14. Robb is right. New trains does not always mean a good and smooth ride. Sometimes you have to match the right design and track with a certain train in order to make it work. I say these trains start out on Gravity Group's coasters like Voyage and Hades first, as I'm sure the company would probably already be in talks with both Holiday World and Mt. Olympus, and then see where they go from there.
  15. One reason might be because these portable Schwarzkopf loopers are becoming pretty scarce in the US. The full sized Schwarzkopf’s like SooperDooperLooper or Revolution are great but they don't seem to have the power of the portable counterparts. Plus they just look great in all their portable awesomeness! I'm just bothered because it was my first looping coaster, and, for a long time, were the only inversions in the park. I didn't have a love affair with the ride, but I did really really like it.
  16. Already started. They announced 600 closures in July, 5% of their US stores. Absolutely. They annouced those months back. I know that 4 in my area closed down, and a couple others are slated to go. I worked at a Barnes & Noble Cafe where we features Starbucks products. I had always hated coffee and thought lattes were weird. Then I got hooked. I don't drink any of that anymore because I don't get the discount (actual Starbucks employees get drinks for free on their shift, no?) but I'm still a huge fan of soy toffeenut lattes. I greatly respect the company for giving part-time employees benefits, and their avid work with non-profit organizations.
  17. Especially since they already have one there. I got my last ride back in May. I went to the park a few more times during the year and the ride was closed all of those day, including my Haunt visit, which kind of sucked. However, I'm happy about my last ride. Laser was my visit coaster with inversions, and I rode it in May with my cousin, and that was his ride coaster that went upside down and he loved it. So, even if I wasn't able to ride it again late in the season, at least I have a good memory of my last ride on it.
  18. Frogs. Yes, you read that right. And no, I'm not trying to be funny.
  19. Hydra. I will now be nerdy. It was ride number 1,000 on that since it opened in 2005. Yes. I'm counting how many times I rode it.
  20. Man Scott, a little harsh eh? Nah, not really I guess. They really do need to get out of Tampa and get as far away as possible.
  21. If you are looking to get into the amusement industry, I would really suggest not going straight into it, unless you plan on working in operations for a while. Even then, I really believe it is hard to work your way out of that. Working your way up the ladder isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world to do. I highly suggest getting experience. Get a summer job as a ride op/vendor at a park. You can do this at a local park, or do something like the Cedar Point college program. Or, you can apply for the Disney College Program, and do an entire semester at DisneyWorld working at the park and taking courses in related business fields. I highly suggest getting as much experience at a park as possible if you plan on making a career out of it. It is always good to get relevant companies and work experience on your resume. From there, I think it is important to get out there and get other work experience before you decide to get into the park stuff. If you are planning on just working your way up, then that is your choice, but I just really believe it is very hard to do that. Personally, I think it is most relevant to major in business. There is a lot that you can do with some kind of business degree. After you graduate, get a job and find your way into a management role. Once you get a good amount of work experience in a couple of management positions, coupled with your amusement park experience, that should be a good starting block to get you on your way to some sort of administrative position at a park or chain. As for public relations, it is very hard to get into something like that. I wanted to do it, but entry level public relations starts at pretty much minimum wage, and you are stuck there for a while. It is very tough to get out of entry level when you are in public relations. Other than that, get involved in extracuriculars as much as possible to increase your leadership ability. Heck, even start up a roller coaster club at your school.
  22. Uncalled for. How about..... CONGRATULATIONS!
  23. ^ Yeah I don't get it. Why is it supposed to be the Braves? Are they the almighty and forever deserving or something? There are many teams in the MLB, and everyone gets their chance a some point. The Braves had many, and didn't really do much with it. Let's go Mets....... Living in Philly is just plain killing me right now. I really have a lot of confidence that either the Rays or the BoSox will come through and keep the Philly misery going though.
  24. 1. How many videos to do see above? 1, 2, or 3? 3 2. Which browser are you using? Explorer 3. Do the videos stream ok? Very slow 4. Are you excited about TPR TV? Sure!
  25. Glove maybe? I remember when I thought the OJ trial was going to be the event of my generation.
