You gotta love Curtis Summers Well, if they really do retrack it every year I would think that they have some sort of ideas for getting rid of it because that would be a stupid expense to hold onto (unless the ridership is still there, which I'm sure it is not considering the ride it gives and its location). Maybe they actually will put in a floorless and start a new tradition (Hercules for Hydra, Mean Streak for ???) I just don't think there would be a catchy name for it though

I really don't understand why they don't have a Top Spin there in the first place. I really hope that they update and improve upon their flat collection over the upcoming years. Screamin' Swing is basically definate. However, in the Soak City parking lot there is wood stacked along with other paraphernalia. From what I have heard it all looks similar to Intamin Plug-n-Play materials. Who knows about that though. Plus, apparently Dick Kinzel was out surveying the area of White Water Landing. That's just what I heard though.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Storm Runner... taking a big tumble in my rankings though -
It's a joke... Shakira is a singer Anyway, that is pretty funny. I wouldn't mind getting stuck on that thing. I've been stuck on a few but nothing would compare to that.

2006 Hersheypark Rumor
Hercules replied to Hercules's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah, it definately won't be a coaster because the space that they are using for construction is a smaller space right near the front of the park. It is like a small corner. -
I headed out to the park today. Over the past couple of weeks word on Hershey Blvd. is that the park is going to receive a dark ride (possibly themed to race cars of some sort) for the 2006 season. Look at what I found when I made the left out of Founder's Circle... http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/herculesrestinpeace/detail?.dir=/52af&.dnm=36dd.jpg&.src=ph Looks like we should be expecting an announcement on the 25th. There have been teasers on the site saying that they are keeping us "in the dark", just like this sign, and there is also something on the park maps also.

All I have to say is.... Borders Yes, Borders. If you have one near you, give them a shot because they pulled through here. -
Discovery Channel Show - UPDATE!!!
Hercules replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You are just pretty sure Robb? Hey, this is really cool. I know I'm new around here and stuff, but once you find something out about Great Adventure, please let me know. I would be all over that and would hope that I could contribute a little bit and have a cool experience if they are going to have some kind of invite for the people that live near Great Adventure. -
Tilt Coaster!?!?!
Hercules replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey now, I'm no wimp. I really like some Vekoma coasters, but some are just bad. I don't mind a little bit of roughness. I actually found the boomerang at Lake Compounce to be a little too smooth. I was kind of hoping to get bounced around a little more. It was kind of odd, but I was amazed. -
Tilt Coaster!?!?!
Hercules replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wouldn't mind riding it. Just because it is a Vekoma doesn't mean that I'm writing it off. However, based on their track record it doesn't look too promising. Don't they know that most of their coasters are really rough? I mean really? -
Tilt Coaster!?!?!
Hercules replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't know. It's not really all that advanced. It is basically the same kind of thing that they used back in the day. It isn't really anything special or more advanced from what they did with their older rides. It's like a boomerang technology. It is a little more advanced considering the first piece tilts like it does, but nothing really past that. It is nothing that really blows me away. -
Theme Park hauntings and ghosts
Hercules replied to AllisonY2K's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Supposedly Dorney Park is haunted. There is a lady in a dress that hangs out by the Antique Carousel or something like that. I have had employees tell me that they have had encounters or some crap. I actually saw the lights on the ride flicker wildly once at night and nobody knew what was going on. I'm sure it was just a malfunction or something, but people started talking about the ghost, so who knows. -
Tilt Coaster!?!?!
Hercules replied to incredicoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Eh, looks interesting. It is just a cheap attempt at a dive machine. They don't have the technology to actually pull it off so they did this. But yeah, it's a Vekoma - that's all I need to know. Jay "Although I actually really like Boomerangs " Willis -
I was going to post this the other day but never got around to it. All I can say is They really got themselves into something bad didn't they? I see this ride being like a Superman: The Escape - being something that the park is not very happy or proud of but they have to keep it up for a certain amount of time to feel as if their investment was fulfilled.

Which coasters are National Icons
Hercules replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cyclone is obvious, but of course, would they just let it sit there and take up space if it gets to the point that it isn't able to work? I would like to think: Phoenix Leap the Dips (it has already survived it before) Blue Streak (Conneaut Lake) Cyclone (William's Grove.... not looking too promising) Magnum XL-200 Jack Rabbit and Pippen/Thunderbolt (Kennywood) The Beast Batman The Ride at SFGAm Steel Force I think that is basically it for right now, off the top of my head -
At the second Coasters After Dark at Great Adventure this year I got stuck on the lift hill of Nitro for about 10 minutes. Nothing too scary though considering there are service steps that go all the way up the hill on both sides so the height was not a factor. Plus, those seats are so damn comfortable that I could have fallen asleep I was so relaxed.

I'm a Coaster Zombie for life, but, I'm going to become a new member of ACE for next year mostly because I feel like I will be a more credible person in the coaster community since I don't really have anything else going for me. Plus, I like food I won't get fat though because I'm a health nut But yeah, I would like to get some more events as a member and hopefully get my name out there a little more along with make some friends - eventhough I have heard that it is hard to as a new member of ACE because they kind of don't even pay attention to you for a while.

Hmmm, let's see... The usual 20+ Dorney visits The usual 10+ SFGAdv visits I'm sure I'll make it to Knoebels a couple of times BGW in March PKD for Grizzlyfest Kennywood, DelGrosso's, Lakemont, Conneaut Lake (maybe Geauga Lake) Disneyworld, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure (maybe BGT) William's Grove (if they are still open next year) I'm sure I'll get up to Lake Compounce, probably for OcBoulderFest I'm also hoping to make it to Holiday World, PKI and Cedar Point but those don't look too promising

Photo TR: West Georgia Fair
Hercules replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^ I get what you mean Joe. I still go to the fairs in my area no matter how crappy they are. Sometimes I really wonder why though. I was a big fair guy before I even became a park and coaster enthusiast, so I get where you are coming from. As far as the area of my school though, it is all about the Allentown Fair. If anyone has ever been there, they know what I'm talking about. I am planning on making it to the Pennsylvania State Fair next year. I still think that the Allentown fair will kick its butt though.
