The media coverage of events like this is always messed up. The identity of the shooter isn't know yet and already Jack Thompson (the infamous anti-video game lawyer) is blaming the events on video games. What makes it worse is that the Fox News Channel is actually taking this guy seriously despite the fact that he's on the verge of being disbarred (finally). When an event like this occurs I tend to ignore everything except for basic coverage because nobody has all the facts and therefore is just speculating. Once the dust settles I'll turn on the TV (or more than likely check out BBC News or CNN's websites).

I saw it on CNN when I was walking through the student center between classes. My condolences go out to everyone involved.

I just got back from seeing Grindhouse and I loved it. I enjoyed both films but Planet Terror is definitely the better of the two.

I love Vonnegut's books. My junior year of high school my English teacher introduced me to his work via Slaughterhouse-Five. I took the book home and read it in one sitting.

I'm really bugged that Anna Nicole Smith gets days and days of news coverage on the 24-hour news networks and all I've seen about Vonnegut is a 30 second blurb on CNN. Vonnegut was an incredible writer; Anna Nicole did nothing.

I didn't enjoy XII as much as the other Playstation-era Final Fantasy games. While the battle system was enjoyable thanks in big part to the removal of random battles the storyline was terrible. The main reason I didn't find the story compelling is because I didn't care about any of the characters. There is no character development and you never connect with any of them. In FFX I cared about what happened to Tidus and the others at the end (and I rank it as one of the best game endings ever). The same goes for every other PS-Final Fantasy (except XI, MMO's don't count). Overall, I was very disappointed. Of course, my fixation on story could have come from just finishing Xenosaga Episode III which was emotionally draining.

I played through all of world 1 in Super Paper Mario yesterday. The game is an absolute blast. The gameplay is a lot of fun and the dialog is hilarious.

I really want Guitar Hero 2 but I don't know if I want to spend $90 on it. I loved the original. I beat every song on Expert except for Cowboys From Hell and Bark At The Moon.

I'm not playing it now but I know what I'll be playing from May 16th-Mid June. They just announced the start date of the beta this morning and released a new video documentary to go along with it. May 16th is too far off...

It's great to hear that Disney is allowing this. I say this both as a bisexual and a Disney stock-holder (it's win-win!).

Unfortunately I came down the the flu this weekend and wasn't able to go see the movie. I plan on getting out to see it soon though.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion -- Shivering Isles Expansion Pack (Xbox 360) I think I've put 95 hours into the game overall. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 (DS) I'm about half-way through the game (well, it's really more of an interactive novel).

That's tough one. I have to go with Boardwalk because of the location, theming, and atmosphere.

So, who else is picking up Super Paper Mario this week?

I was digging through my photos on Facebook and I completely forgot I had taken these photos. These are from the 26 hours I spent waiting in Walmart for the Nintendo Wii. You can't see it but my ticket has the number 1 one it.

It's a nice feature but like several other users here I use the spell-check built into Firefox 2.

I'll be picking up a PS3 once the price drops but as of now, there isn't anything on the system that really makes me want it for the current price. I'm happy with my Xbox 360 (and to a much lesser extent) my Wii.

I've always meant to rent it but haven't gotten around to it. I love Miyazaki's work, espicially Spirited Away.

I'm almost positive he used Gary's Mod.
