  1. ^ Yea, they painted Eagle last year when the put in Superman: Tower of Power. The first half is re-painted, but as soon as you dive down the 92ft drop, the beauty stops but the airtime i still there so I'm not complaining. Yesac519, I found that the ride can be boring one time, and crazy insanely fun five minutes later all depending on who you're sitting with and the weight difference on each side.
  2. I'm going with my school. Is that going to be any kind of special day at the park (i.e. a school day)? It seems every time I go to SFStL with school the park is so crowded you cant get any rides in. Either way, it might be cool to see a fellow TPR member there. We might just have to ride something together and talk coaster nerdy talk. -Justin "POST NUMBER 1000!" Seabaugh Saturday will be Choir day, but I wouldn't expect it to get TOO busy. They'll have two trains running on everything so lines shouldn't get more than 10-15 minutes. Hit me up with some numbers or some way of contacting you and we'll set something up! I'd be glad to spend a couple hours with a fellow enthusiast.
  3. I think Six Flags was trying to put the coaster in that location because it's close to Bugs Bunny National Park. I consider it an extension of BBNP actually. I'll be out there May 5th as well! Hope to see you there!
  4. I'd say SFFT's has the better theme, but I do like our entrance. As I said before, the ride fits in perfectly. It feels as if it's always been there. The trees surrounding it complement it SOOO much.
  5. Ehh, it's a little bit of both. If you know where Friar Tucks Turkey Legs is, then you could say that the entrance is basically right there. The park is situated right next to Xcalibur though.
  6. It's not rough at all. There's only one jolt, going into ramp, and that's a track issue. I think the lead-in is just really small there. The spinning is all smooth and buttery. Tis very nice. And coastercrazed, it's the same layout though mirrored.
  7. They had the skaters there to break the ribbon. It was the "grand ceremony."
  8. April 21st, yesterday, was opening day for Six Flags St. Louis. My girlfriend, Jennilee, and myself left our house at 7:45 and arrived at the park at 9am. Surprisingly, the entrance was packed with people. Most were under the intention that the park would be open an hour early for season pass holders. That actually starts NEXT weekend. Someone was telling people over the phone that it started this weekend. Anywhoo, at 9:50 they started letting people into the plaza and at 10 we were free to go. The running of the bulls was pretty intense; it was Jenni and myself and nobody else. We ran straight to Tony Hawks Big Spin only to find that they were going to have an opening "ceremony." Soon after, we ended up being the first public ride. Woot! So Tony Hawk, it's fun and it spins. The lift is fast, the laterals are cool and the airtime is more than enough for a family coaster. Actually, the air was pretty good on the 3rd MCBR drop and the hill after. The helices were a blast. They did a marvelous job on the ride both in theming and preservation. The ride fits in very well with the surroundings. They cut down only trees that had to be cut. It feels as if the coaster has always been there. The queue was alright with the posted signs about Xtreme Sports, but the entrance was the most impressive. See pictures below. Some other improvements around the park were wait time signs, more apparent security, friendlier staff, more participating staff, and many characters. Coaster improvements: Boss's double-down, pro-MCBR valley, and run under the lift were all buttery with new re-tracking. Eagle was FILLED with airtime and received some retracking. Freeze got a chisel-to-gum makeover! The day was great, even though it was busy, and the improvements were a BIG plus. Enjoy the photos! Ohh, pretty entrance! This big of a crowd an hour before opening?! Ohh yea What? Dan Snyder? Eagle ran great and had A LOT more air. That's all folks. Purty Eagle I think Ninja should be renamed to some metal band, with the headbanging and all... Flowy BTR Panda Express is good for people who like pandas Johnny Rockets is good These cool signs were posted in most of the lines. Hopefully we never actually have to use them! Batman in all its loopidy glory Overall #2 Overall #1 The hill shown here, and the drop before (if the picture continued at the bottom) were my favorite parts of the ride. These elements had great pacing, abruptness, and airtime. The cars really flew over this hill The first drop didn't spin much, but it provided some sweet lats More finale helix goodness Hairtime! Finale helix was intense with spinnage Flags are friends, not food. Kicka$$ entrance So the turnaround was cool with the laterals The path under the ramp was not yet open. Hopefully they get that up soon. Yay for lateral airtime! So the ramp was cool and even had some airtime! The only "rough" part of the ride. There was a jolt, but nothing like Boss's double-down Medusa supports are always cool They were aiming for 20 seconds out and in times. Crazyfilled 2nd helix Twas a speedy lift Awww, fwesh wheels Tony's all like "I dominate" So on Saturday, this hill was alright, but it didn't have much airtime. On Sunday, I'd estimate it to have about -0.2 or so. It's SAAAAWEET HYPERSPEED! The helices really gave a nice spin, which is good since the ride really relies on the spin Upskirt! Yay for mag brakes! Sooo I hope they do something with this, it's awfully black Mmm, twistiness Wild mouse wanna-be How many mechanics does it take to screw in a light bulb... Coolio facts and random stuff. I must say, the theming was *stoked* The peeps liked the new coaster It is he! Cool skateboardness
  9. I would suggest making the navigation bar text have no decoration until the pointer is on it. Then make the underline show up.
  10. Congrats! You look a little worn out though Elissa!
  11. www.coastercravers.com/valleyfair-2007-center.html New update showing the transfer track, and some of the small turns and hills around the station. Photo credit goes to VFFORUM. I really love the finale bunny hop. Looks to have a nice pop of air and laterals.
  12. I believe they were taken December 28th.
  13. www.coastercravers.com/buschgardenseuro ... enter.html Aerial photos of Griffon. Photo credits go to speed4us at TN.
  14. New update on my site. www.coastercravers.com/valleyfair-2007-center.html Lift's coming down quickly along with the finale turn. Big thanks to EBAR from VFFORUM for the pictures.
  15. SFGAm looks pretty cool coming into it. V2, Superman, Raging Bull, Demon Drop, Deja Vu, Viper, and American Eagle all stand out really well from the interstate. Holiday World is also pretty sweet now that Voyage is in. It was cool driving through the quaint town and then seeing Raven barely poking through the trees.
  16. Hehe, coaster withdrawals? Dragster is a great advertising object. It has that monster aura in person and image. I love waiting for the launch. I always lose my breath. If it didn't roll back a bit, it would take me completely by surprise. I've ridden it eight times, only once not in the front. The time I rode in the back was lame I'll admit. To truely experience Dragster, you have GOT to be in the front. It's a completely different ride.
  17. This will be my first season with a car, so I'm hoping to hit the Illinois/Missouri/Kentucky/Indiana parks with friends. My family is also heading down to the Tampa area so I'm hoping to hit Busch, SeaWorld, and Universal while we're there. On a side note, Cedar Point is a possibility. Basically, Worlds of Fun Beech Bend Indiana Beach SFGAm SFKK SFStl Dollywood Islands of Adventure SeaWorld Orlando Busch Gardens Africa Hopefully about 30 new coasters to be ridden. Tis' going to be a big year!
  18. It's so neat how they're using that structure for three seperate sections of track. Talk about conservation!
  19. What's that song in your Holiday Park 2005 video? It sounds like he's saying "Shake that jigglypuff" over and over again, but I'm not sure.
  20. That park looks to have a beautiful seat.
  21. Man, I wish Mueller's video would have ranked higher. He did an awesome job editing it and his camera has great quality. It was a very good 16:9 video and my personal favorite! No offense to any of the editors but honestly, Tom's video gave me more "WOW" than Miguel's. I guess Miguel's had better use of original acting. Anyways, good job everyone for the hard work and entertaining footage.
  22. Hey! I think I'm in the first picture of all the people running to the ride! Lol, I'd love to have the full size of that if you wouldn't mind. Great TR and pictures as well. Lucky you got to hit Kentucky Rumbler.
  23. Yea, when I went last summer they were kinda hissy about shooting from the ramps and wouldn't even let bags into the queues but that just shows what a quality park they have, or insurance fund cuts. I'm headed down there Tuesday so we'll see again. BTW, I contacted BGA and they are sending me the stock onride footage of the coasters tthere. It may not fit in with the amatuer flow of my videos, but at least they're there. Thanks Elissa for the tips and basics of what to say on the phone.
  24. From what I can remember, Mount Olympus, Timber Falls, Liseberg, Europa Park, Busch Gardens Africa, and Silver Dollar City; and those are just a few.
  25. Heh, my site isn't just a forum. It's only been online for two months, but from what I hear, it's doing well compared to other early life sites. www.coastercravers.com
