I just got back from what I have to say was my best ever trip to my home park. The staff overall are more polite and with good crews than I have seen in a while. Of my six trips on Wicked Cyclone I asked for a front row once and they kindly allowed which was great. WC was delayed until noon for opening , they told us something needed "tightening up" and they were adding the second train. We waited for about half an hour after we arrived for our first ride but it was a walk on most of the day. I saw a lot of enthusiasts today, many from overseas, hope you enjoyed your day at the park on this hot day! Noticed a guy in an SOB shirt, three guys in coaster club shirts and someone in particular who had an amazing Krustyland shirt, love it dude. My opinion of Wicked Cycone was that it was really intense, relentless in airtime, and I compare it somewhat to the many twists and turns of Maverick. As I get older I find I rank coasters less and just love them all so much to tell you if I liked it better than Bizarro, Leviathan, Maverick and my other favorites of the 250 or so coasters I have been on but it was absolutely amazing and lives up to the hype I have been reading about. Here's my ride count for today: WC: 6, 30 mins to walk on later in the day, I reccomend the front row if you're lucky enough to land it! Bizarro: 1 ,30 mins, 2 trains, solid crew here! Blizzard River, 1, walk on Flashback,1, walk on Goliath, 1, 20 minutes, oh god it was painful this year but I still love that vertical inverted drop Here are some photos:

Hey cam, glad to see another positive review for this awesome looking ride! I will be going to SFNE for the first time this season with Jess and Lisa next Thursday the 11th. Did you have to wait in line long for WC? Did it get very bust throughout the day? I have never been on an RMC coaster before, but I do have difficulty with the lap/leg bars on Bizzaro, to the point where I often cant ride. Are WC's restraints fairly restrictive to bigger people or people with long legs? Sorry for all the questions, just very eager to get out there to my home park and try it out. I'm hoping for a not so crowded day, Im not sure if the kids are in school out there.

Wow, I love it! B&Ms have always been my favorite type of coasters, and my all-time favorite is Leviathan, so I welcome any new speed coasters to the United States. I am very surprised it took so long for a hyper coaster to appear in Florida, and coaster fans and park guests alike will enjoy this new type of thrill to the Florida area: airtime! I also like the fact that the three B&M coasters have a bit of uniform naming with sea creatures, Kraken, Manta, and now Mako. They all will compliment eachother nicely. This is also probably one of the more interesting new color schemes I can remember in recent years.

I am glad you didn't give up! I got the wrong idea when I saw the deconstruction, keep at it! You will get there! -
K'nex Twisted Colossus
ECZenith replied to K1ngdaKa88's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Given that you have all of these pieces, why not attempt a recreation of Wicked Cyclone? It might be a little easier to pull off as the layout is more compact and low to the ground. It might be easier to pull off with Knex, just a suggestion! I applaud your attempt at Twisted Collossus, sorry to see there were physics issues. I know the pain... I build Coaster Dynamix and Lego coasters and it can be frustrating when they dont make it through their ideal course. -
Given the clues already given and this new trademark I wouldn't be surprised if this is SWO's new coaster name. I agree it would be a great name for a reheard wild arctic but I see no way they are going to touch the exhibit. It is immensely popular and beautiful as is. Reef Hunter is a cool name, reminds me of another great Busch coaster: Cheetah Hunt. Looking forward to the announcement so we can square away the details!

[RCT3] Lake Martin Park - 1982
ECZenith replied to Tomes1225's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Nice work, I especially like when people have their coasters being shown in the construction process. The placement of your Corkscrew coaster and train station reminds me very much of Canobie Lake Park, was this inspiration for Lake Martin Park? -

I think the Fun Schiff swinging cruise ship that travels in Germany is the coolest looking one. Photo credit to Ältere Ansicht -

New at CP in 2016, Valravn Candy Bites, now with extra child hearts! That is a seriously messed up sounding mythological creature, I prefer this to DiveHawk. -
larson super loop

^ I think it would look something like the crazy machines from the movie Contact... I always thought that movie would be translated well into a theme park ride, just a couple decades too late! -
TNT, it's not that I would expect them to jump on the bar, I worked BTMRR at Disneyland for 6 years and know all too well how larger guests expect a little help getting the bar down. The last thing I ever wanted to do was turn away a guest but sometimes I just had to apologize and offered them a readmission ticket to another ride. The bars were super giving , so much so I always worried about larger parents riding with small children, but clearly the nature of the ride is extremely different. I moved back to Massachusetts from California at the time After the restraint change. I am 5'11 and 220 lbs, definitely not a thin person but no where near the point where I shouldn't fit on a coaster. I could always ride but needed to cross my feet and try to keep my knees low and the operator during his check would push the bar to its locked position and off we go. Sometimes this required an extra push, but they would always try. I was never uncomfortable when the bar was down all the way. I believe in 2013 or 2014 I sat down, buckled and pulled the bar down, ready for first ride of the season and the dispatcher indicated my bar needed a push as well as several other seats. They told me due to new policies at the park they could not push my bar down if I could not do it myself. So at this point I left. I was embarrassed only because I held up a train and I did not want to make that long line any longer of a wait than it had to be. I was baffled so I tried the test seat. Every time I was given a green light. I waited in line again and was asked to get off again, at this point it would be impolite to keep getting in line and trying because I am just wasting crew and guest time. My problem isn't at all with the operators... A policy change they are following just often keeps the crew from numerous attempts to try to get someone on. I just wish they wouldn't offer a test seat I "pass" on in front of the coaster if new regulations make it not so useful. I know safety of park guests is number one. I respect the park immensely , they are one of the cleaner, nicer themed parks in the chain and when I go the crews are always moving. It's just a bummer I can't seem to get on Bizarro anymore when rides like Millennium Force, Ride of Steel and other Intamin mega coasters are unquestionably accommodating to my body type. I don't want special treatment, I just wish I could ride my favorite coaster again, I am sure many of you would understand this. It's a great ride and sucks to have to walk by it. I love SFNE, will be there multiple times this summer in anticipation of what looks like a new contender for one of the better coasters in the world, but there's another amazing coaster there I'd like to get on again like I always have been before. Anyone else lucky enough to do Nightwing before it went? Amazing Huss Fly Away , was sad to see it go. Ah, the good old days of red and blue... I do NOT miss this thing... I miss you... But not as much as I want an RMC an hour away. Yeah I'm a bit of a chubby guy but I can't fit on Bizarro?
-
I agree while the ride was at SFMM and the first year it was at SFNE guests could not seem to figure out the seating configuration, I didn't really see the big deal in not being able to see your buddy's face if you were on a wing seat... I heard a lot of guests arguing with ride operators that they wanted to sit next to their friend, and by that I mean they insisted on being in a perfect lateral line. I feel my question about Bizarro's restrains may be buried as this topic has taken off... Can anyone tell me if they are still very strict about pushing on the restraint if it doesnt close the first time? It is very dissapointing to not be able to ride Bizarro when I can easily go on Millennium Force and similar rides. The test seat not matching what happens in the station is quite frustrating. I love SFNE, grew up with Riverside Park... one day there were new restraints and I could not ride. I really hope this changes but in the mean time there is Wicked Cyclone.

I don't find Goliath all that bad, honestly. What really makes me sad about my home park SFNE is that I can no longer fit into the restraints. I have not gained any weight, and can still ride every other coaster I used to except this one. The new restraints added a little while back and last year's "one try at a push or you get walk of shamed" policy has really pissed me off considering I can't ride what used to be my favorite coaster out of the 250 I have been on. Have they done anything about this? I hope the rumors of new trains/or restraints (as part of a possible Superman retheme, would love to see the Bizarro crap dissapear) For those who have been this year that have had difficulty with this has it been resolved? I can literally get a green light from the test seat, but the ride ops always seem to shoo me away when I can't get the bar quite down on the first attempt. I do not want to hinder operations or make a scene so I politely walk away. When I went to guest relations to explain my frustration with the test seat, they kind of shrug their shoulders and tell me "We know, we get a lot of complaints about this." I get a nice smile and a "have a six flags day" but it mind as well be a middle finger...

Spider-Man: Symbiote Showdown
ECZenith replied to ECZenith's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
For anyone who has one of these Coaster Dynamix RCF kits, or Jack Rimer: I have lost the packaging for my set and cannot find what size technic chain link and motor is recommended , could you tell me? The lift hill structure is up, needs one more support column. The colors do. It match at the moment but once the layout is complete I will start replacing with color appropriate pieces. From here, the coaster will have a curving right drop and consist mostly of airtime hills and a zero g roll. It will be quite compact for easy travel. Theming will also be a big part of it, but more on that later, there's a layout to dream up! Needs one more support column. a closeup of the start of the lift. The blue and center grey panels will be the lift chain return tray. The lift chain fits snugly in a groove on the rail ties. The train, quite slick looking IMO. Here you can see how the wheel covers hide the bogies. -

Looks very good and quite accurate! I hope to see Hydra spring up too! Keep up the nice work! -
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone here has ever added a Lego power functions motor to a Roller Coaster Factory from Coaster Dyanmix. I need to know exactly which gears I need to locate, the correct motor, and any other pieces I might need including the specific technic chain links (apparently they come in different sizes) I am bringing my lego coaster to life and need some help with this, I'd really appreciate it! Photos of the layout soon! I would also like to see your lego coaster creations if any of you have made them. Modern looking train

Man it is a great year to be alive on the east coast! With Leviathan being my all time favorite coaster, I think I will love Fury, almost makes me forget Wicked Cyclone is coming up practically in my backyard, almost... Thanks for the report and the great photos!
