I got it, but I am here way more often than I should be! Anyway, with a roller coaster launching out of the tunnel right underneath the Laughing Dragon Pizza Company, I would love to see this venue open back up again. Should be a really cool unique view of the ride, and there should be more traffic up there now with 'new' Superman and now the YOLO track going over Superman Plaza.

No, see, this is the first ever "Top Hat at 160 feet." This really opens the door for future marketing on virtually ANY attraction. "First ever 192.5' lift hill on a wooden coaster!" "First ever 80' circumference loop!" or "First ever coaster to decelerate to zero in under 5 seconds!" In all seriousness though the ride looks better and better with each piece of track they install! Getting excited!

I have been 'car free by choice' for over 2 years in LA and it's fine. The routes can get you basically anywhere besides SFMM (SCV is like a dead zone for public transportation, possibly the reason you feel this way), and with Google Transit and NextBus I hardly ever find myself waiting anymore. What's wrong with suggesting a direct bus for $1.50 instead of paying $20-$25 each way for a cab?

^I spent a couple of years working in National Parks, and Norovirus popped up every summer. It just kinda happens when you have lots of people together from around the world. It really isn't a big deal, although as an employee you get quarantined which kinda sucked, but to anybody I knew that got it said it was just like the flu.

^ FOR REALZ. On a side note, Mexican Joker is creepy. -
The Matterhorn Bobsleds come super close to the midway, they don't have issues. California Screamin's track comes within a foot and a half of the exit path, they don't have issues. As Robb said, Revolutions track comes right along the fence during the helix and that hasn't been an issue. I think the large gauge of the track makes it appear more 'dangerous' or whatever than it actually is. I can probably throw a souvenir bottle and hit track/train on any roller coaster in Southern California. The ride looks great, and I'm pretty psyched that some life will be added to the Superman Plaza! Maybe this will encourage them to open the Laughing Nothing!

Took another whirl on The Matterhorn and got a front row seat. I have to say that I found the ride much more enjoyable here. There is a 3 or 4 inch elevation difference between where your ass and your feet go, as opposed to a completely flat un-padded surface provided in rows 2, 3, 5, and 6. This made ALL the difference in the world for my comfort. I realize that different seats are good for different people but I wanted to report to y'all that the front of the train is much more comfortable if you have trouble wrapping your legs around the seat in front of you, like I do (for some reason!).

It looks great. Dare I say it almost looks better than Primeval Whirl? And that queue doubling as a fun house...at least the themeing anyway. Goods stuff, SFM! -
It's going to be a pretty quick stop in that tunnel. This small amount of track is already showing how potentially crazy this ride will be. Does anybody suspect that SFMM will remove the reverse launch after a few years and just have it launch again in the tunnel without stopping? Maybe a cost saving measure, or a wear and tear type issue? I don't think any of us doubted that the ride itself will be fun, I just think we have all been hoping for a full length coaster to be added, since there hasn't been one in a long time. Lex Luthor, Apocalypse, Superman, X2 and Deja Vu are all (or at least feel like) relatively short rides, and now YOLO will be as well

I hadn't realized that Chinese Deja Vu was actually Chinese. I thought it was a Vekoma like the others. Are you going to do a day by day for the China trip after this overview? I enjoy these updates quite a bit. -
Very cool.

Still a very fun read. I enjoy your longer-than-normal-for-TPR stories.
