  1. ^haha good call, I'm glad I didn't get into this whole Nantimi thing, just flat out annoying, and I've been able to be patient and sleep at night and guess what...WOAH the announcement is tomorrow already! I respect those that had fun figuring it out and good for you, but I'm ready for it to be over
  2. great to hear that DK hopped onto the bandwagon to get one of these, I really hope GAdv gets one of these, would be a nice, different addition. Hopefully it gets positive feedback!
  3. since 2 spelled out ends in an "o", i'll use that! Oki Doki @ Bobbejaanland
  4. this is probably the best news of the day so far, I've always wondered how Wild Adventures was, and with new ownership with that company, it seems they are rising up to compete with some of the bigger industry companies now, which is wonderful. I'm curious to see about the move, in my opinion, this park is back on the map now!
  5. i would love to see woodies not get rough...it happens! haha I mean I was stoked to hit up Predator @ Darien Lake 2 years ago because the layout looked like airtime would've been in plentiful amounts, but as you said, Mr. Dinn/Summers woodies go down quickly after they open and it wasn't fun at all
  6. woohoo 22 hours to go, it's going to seriously stink sitting around my pc at noon because who knows if they'll actually do it at noon or a few minutes after!!
  7. ^yo man, it really depends on when he visited the park, also, rides break down all of the time, something the park can't control, sure they have the control to fix it, but you can't name 1 park that doesn't have this problem too. GAdv is also my homepark, it definitely used to be dirty 2 years ago, I agree with that. But they have really stepped up and transformed this park into a very enjoyable place recently, adding beautiful scenery and theming and family areas to attract families more. With Wiggles World, Bugs Bunnyland, and Balen's Jungleland they have a fantastic aray of rides and activities for kids and families, along with one of the best coaster lineups anywhere for the teens and thrill freaks. I know this is a forum for opinions, but people are allowed to defend too if his facts aren't correct, which they really aren't because SFGAdv is totally a different park from 2 years ago and beyond when it wasn't that nice. The operations are superb, KK hasn't had even close to as many problems this season as in the past, ET never stops pumping out trains and not a lot of rides are closed, which means they are getting better and doing there job. Plus, he wasn't being "hissy" about it, he's representing himself and his homepark, and honestly, there wasn't anything immature about his comment, it was orderly and with regular tone, if anything yours was worse. That's it from me.
  8. wouldn't be surprised if it's a GCI clone of one of the European GCI's (Troy, Thunderbird) since obviously not a lot of people have ridden them (or will) which makes it unique for here in America, except for Rob, Elissa, and a few others on this site that got the opportunity to. That would excite me, both Troy and Thunderbird look solid! But, who knows, maybe i'm wrong, just have to wait and see!
  9. yeah I'm interested too because if I remember the layout it was a pretty sick ride, I definitely could've seen it being Voyage esk when it opened because of the drop and twister layout it had. I did enjoy it when I rode it too and I still miss it to this day
  10. not really saying as though they are 2 completely different park chains that rival each other...Besides, me along with many other people agree that the Six Flags ownership of this park blew away Cedar Fairs, I loved what they did to it, now CF destroyed it, I don't care if CP is near by, this park had potential.
  11. man this is a great report so far! Really want to hit up a TPR trip one of these days, my kind of looney people! Can't wait to see more!!
  12. ^that'd be cool too, that would result in a pretty large coaster actually, and over the path is always attractive too because guests obviously are forced to notice it's presence. Who knows what the future holds, I hope they are smart and do this right though since many of the GP will also be upset that Chiller is gone next season
  13. it was in no way Six Flag's fault at all for expanding it like they did! Seriously, they knew Cedar Point was an hour west of it, they HAD to make some big additions to compete with CP if they were to be successful, and the additions they made were quite superb, so SF did there job and then realized later on that it wasn't working so they did the business thing and sold it to CF who basically destroyed it. SF did what they needed to do as a business too, unfortunately it didn't work, taking a gamble can have that result.
  14. that ride is like an antique now, don't see too many of those around anymore, good to hear it's still up and running
  15. i really enjoyed my time at Darien Lake 2 years ago, little sad Six Flags dropped it though because of the loss of themes, plus the indoor Batman show was pretty decent! But, they still have some decent coasters still, kind of wish the stand up project fell through, I guess it will be some time before another major coaster goes in there since it's an independent park again
  16. ^the indoor spinning attraction was talked about going in where Freefall was. I personally love spinning coasters, Pandemonium at SFNE was loads of fun, they are different, have more of a twister layout, and are attractive to teens and families because its just a plain fun coaster
  17. yeah I mean this one is no where near the size of Hades or Voyage, and looks to have nice banking and great looking hills, I'm sure it'll be aggresive but I really think this will be a winner because it's more hills then a twister layout
  18. haha it refuses to die!!! Yeah that's a good point I forgot they repaint it on site sometimes, hopefully that's the case so the colors can vary at the park. They have orange, red, and 2 bright greens, so a dark blue would fit nicely or a dark purple. Just a note, I'm hitting Dorney this weekend so I'll find out more hopefully and possibly some construction pics if any, also if anyone wants to meet up PM me!
  19. I will be there for work Thursday & Friday. Then I have Saturday-Monday to do whatever I can including trips to SFNE, Fenway, Boston (the usual touristy stuff) and whatever else I can fit in. I'll look into Lake Compounce. I plan to drive Friday night as well to Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire. I am on a quest to visit all 50 states haha quite an adventure! That's neat I would love to do something like that, yeah definitely look into LC, it's such a nice little park with 3 more credits for you, 2 woodies and a boomerang, with some nice flats too!
  20. dude thats fantastic, the pics I found were good but it'd be cool to see some closer shots and more progress. I really want to try out a GG woodie and this is the closest one to me so that's why I'm more interested!
  21. ^exactly, I did forget that it can be unreliable. I also suggest a Lake Compounce visit too, quite close to SFNE and they have one of the top notch woodies in the country too!! How many days will you be around?
  22. yeah dude we werent so sure about airtime on this ride but it has an 80 foot drop into some speedy looking bunny hills that might deliver some sweet ejector! Plus the twister stuff looks genuine, this looks like a top notch woodie if you ask me!
  23. I thought this topic was gone! Good thing I looked and didn't start another one! I actually remembered this thing was being built, so I wondered around thrillnetwork and found an update! http://www.flickr.com/photos/rsscbell/archives/date-taken/2007/09/16/ looking pretty sweet, this will definitely be in my top list of anticipated coasters for next year!
  24. this is actually excellant news, I'm so glad Intamin is hopping back on models like this. I seriously want Hershey's new one to be a mini hyper, or a hyper too because they are so much fun, so comfortable, have fantastic airtime and deliver. This one looks pretty fun too, just proves it doesn't need to be huge to be a great ride!
