Parks With Insane Rides
bigstevet07 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would agree too. They handle their flats well. That would probably be because the Tornado is only so-so, the Outlaw is actually pretty fun, but the the Dragon needs to be torn down and sold as scrap metal. I haven't been there in about 5 years, but I do remember the breakdance have a great program too. -
Parks With Insane Rides

Indiana Beach back in the late 80's early 90's had some insane cycles on their flats. Their version of twister would run forever. They also ran the Octopus forever too. I think their viking ship might have gone the highes on any of them that I have been on, it made me dizzy. I was there the first year they got the Falling Star and that had an amazing cycle too. I am not sure what they run like now since I haven't been there since. -
Dark rides at Cedar Point

Disaster Transport is "dark" Disaster is the perfect name for that ride too. -

One question, what the heck is Ramboland, and why is it the most expensive thing at the park? Is Stallone actually there? -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I still think its an aquatrax. HAHAHAHA Just kidding I actually never thought that. It looks friggin awesome though. I like the launch in total darkness so you can't expect it coming. That barrell roll is so close to the ground its crazy. Looks like the wife and I are going to have to leave the new baby with grandma and make a trip to CP this year. -
Retro PTR: Six Flags Great America 1991
bigstevet07 replied to Olsor's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
WOW, that brings back some serious memories. I made my only trip to SFGam in June of 1991. Shockwave didn't open until later in the day and then it was a 1 1/2 wait. Tidal Wave was an awesome ride. I really need to get back to that park. -
What Rides Scares the Crud Out Of You?
bigstevet07 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ferris Wheels without a doubt. I don't know why but I hate them, refuse to ride them. The first time I rode a skycoaster. When you are first lifted backwards, it seems so much higher when you are facing the ground. I've been on 2 others since then, and love them now. Viper at SFGAdv, it was so rough I thought there was no way i would get off of it without a serious injury like broken bones. -
PTR: Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas

Great pics of Atlantis. I just love that hotel. It kind of stinks that you can't go to the waterslides unless you are staying there or you pay for an excursion. I definitely want to stay there one of thse years. We went there while we were with the Disney cruise. -

Yeah you definitely need to try the Disney Cruise. Especially is you can get a discount for a TM. We went there on our honeymoon and it absolutely blew us away! -
I totally agree about Spinning Dragons queue. That thing moves so slow and it is a mediocre coaster. I don't get how Timberland Twister is the same coaster but the line moves faster. It has to be the operations I guess. I can't believe that no one has mentioned space mountain in WDW as being way too long. It seems like it takes forever to get there. The good thing is at the exit and they have the moving walkways though. My favorite queue though would have to be ToT at MGM. Great setup.

Six Flags Spinners '07

Yeah I hope that's not true either. I can't see an Ice age theme coaster to be all that thrilling. -
Speed--The Ride in Vegas

Fremont streets canopy has a whole bunch of different light shows. Ceasars forum shops have the sky above them, and it changes from day to night like hourly or something like that. If you are looking for a party atmosphere, then hang out downtown. The strip is mostly people walking around looking at the sites now a days. That is outside on the strip. You go anywhere downtown and it seems like a huge party. -
Mamba at WOF first year it opened really sucked. Timberwolf does too coming around that turn and then sudden stop. Then again people might not realize because they are unconcious from the beating on the ride. Raptor at CP just stops all of a sudden.

Six Flags Spinners '07
bigstevet07 replied to TexTitan01's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Because if it is a Gerstlauer, the only 3 spinners they have made are all the same layout, hence the clones. It would be better to see a Mauer Schone (sp?) especially since a clone is 3 1/2 hours away. -

Personally I think SFStl will be stupid to get a Pandemonium clone. Worlds of Fun is about 3 1/2 hours away and they have the Spinning Dragons which was the first of them. Pandemonium is actually a Spinning Dragons clone. It wouldn't make sense to have 2 of the same coasters so close to each other. They need to get like the spinball wizard or one like in the pics of the UK trip. -
Speed--The Ride in Vegas
bigstevet07 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Actually the sky changing part with the shops and restaurants is the forum shops at Caesars. That place is really nice. Favorite place in there is Niketown. They have a motion simulator there too, but I didn't ride. -

Who knows, by the time you get there, the TOGO death machine will be running the new trains. That might help. I definitely say go with Speed. The launch is cool and the overbank coming out of the tunnel is good as well. Other than that though, its pretty much a regular coaster after the beginning. I would definitely advise you to do the space shot on top of the Stratosphere at night. That is amazing. -

I was always wondering what Rosie O'Donnell has been doing since the Flintstones. Freaking Hilarious. -
Yeah ever since that girl unbuckled her selt belt like 10 years ago and was thrown out of the train and died, that ride has pretty much been a walk on all the time. The locals can't really stand that ride anymore. It would be one thing if it was really rough but still a great ride, but this thing is just so-so and a back breaker.

That is a good thing that its being retracked. Its the only coaster I've had to sit down for a half hour after because of a headache.

Most INTENSE Coaster Moment?
bigstevet07 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would say SUF's pretzel loop also at SFGAdv. It felt like my brain was going into my socks. That was pretty awesome even if the rest of the ride is so-so. I would also say the helix on the Mamba at WOF. Pull a lot of g's doing a helix at that high speed and great head choppers on the supports add to it. -
The Outlaw is actually pretty fun in the back. That first hill catches you by surprise as you get whipped down it. The underground is probably the most disappointing ride ever. We went the opening season and it has all the buildup of being a coaster with the 2 lifthills, but then nothing. I refuse to call that ride a coaster. If that ride is a coaster, then Hershey's Chocolate World ride is a coaster. Great report by the way.
