The problem is the inaccuracy in that statement.... it doesn't matter if you use handsfree or not, mostly, it's the conversation itself that is the distraction.

I was on Flames TV last year actually. During the season opener we went to a well known sports pub in Calgary and they were interviewing people asking them who their favorite player was and my response was "I cheer for the Flaming C on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back" and I was on the first episode of Flames TV on Sportsnet I think it was at the end right before the credits. Good stuff.

20 people shot, one died and the shooter was killed by police. a number are listed in very critical condition. The shooter was a member of vampirefreaks.com... this may not mean a lot to you guys, but here in Alberta in Medicine Hat actually, and 13 year old girl met and started dating a 20 year old male both from the site, though they both claim they met at a concert. The young male then allegedly convinced the girl to kill her entire family. Now, I'm not a rocket scientist, and I know not all goths are like this, but it seems to me that people on that site are not paying attention to the cries for attention of their members. A truely horrible and senseless tragedy that could have been avoided had someone cared to stop and report this man who said he wanted to go down in a hail of bullets.

I'd have to say that the Dark Tower series is my favorite series ever. And I'm a series fanatic... Favorite book was Wizard and Glass in which Mr. King delves into the world of romance a bit and does a fantastic job of it. It's a series that could be made into a bunch of movies for sure.

My sincerest condolances to you and your family. It's certainly unexpected for your father to go so young, but you have to have faith (whatever that may be) that he's in a better place now. The pain never truely goes away, but someday you'll be able to think of the joy and good things he brought to your life and know that he also brought joy to the lives of others. It's coming up on the 9 year anniversary of my sister's death (she was 22 and died of cancer) and while I miss her dearly and still cry because she's going to miss so much in my life, I also know shes watching. The pain does subside... sometimes I don't even think about it for months. Other times it was like yesterday. I however, have come to terms with it, and you will as well for your own loss. I know how devestating it can be but you have to ask yourself if your father would want you to dwell upon what you're missing on by not having him there or would he want you to celebrate his live and in turn live yours to the fullest in honour of him. It took me a while to figure out that my sister would only want me to have joy in my life, and I hope that you can believe your father would want the same for you.

Hmmmm... what day is that? I may just have to look into that. Not that I'm into PETA, just that I think it would be fun.

Not that I've been to most of those cities, but from an outsiders uneducated and stereotypical view, I'm surprised New York isn't on there. Traffic would make me mad.

Since he's so concerned about who he knows, I would ask him if he knows who you are and them tell him that he obviously knows no-one if he doesn't know you and that you'll make sure all the people he's talked about over the phone know what an abnoxious jackass he is and make sure he loses all the connections he apparently thinks are so important.

A couple things... I like a lot of fast food. Almost all actually. When me and my sister went to the US, it was nice to see that the McDonald's we stopped at were the same as they are here in Canada. (Except the round holes to the garbages... the tray is square or didn't they figure that out?!) The Wendy's however were different. Now, Wendy's is my favorite fast food place in Canada. It is not in the US. I can't explain the difference except to say that there were weird sandwiches at the Wendy's we went to, and they were not that great. Perhaps I should have stuck with the classics. Also, your KFCs are different in the US and IMO not as good. May just take some getting used to though.

I got my BA in Poli Sci and I plan on being the Prime Minister of Canada one day. I have four peircings and two tattoos and I've never tested them out in a metal detector so I don't know what will happen. I have two cats I have lived away from my parents since I was barely 18 I'm petrified of rollercoasters until I get on them, then I can't wait to do it again.
