Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Thanks for the update and the time it took to provide this update. At least this gives people an idea of what goes into making changes around the park. It seems like all the Six Flags parks are doing something to up their image this year and it shows. Keep up the good work. -

It's looking great. The raven drops are fun and look like they'll be pretty smooth. In an interview with Jeff that I saw, they're starting to pour the concrete slab for the station so that should be done soon as well. And now the cars are onsite so it'll only be a matter of time before we see them on the track.

As far as the "Go" or "No Go" on whether to open the ride comes from Ops base. If the wind or rain is bad enough, Ops Base makes the call over to the ride ops and let's them know. Their ultimate goal is to open the ride but if there is a strong chance the ride might valley due to high winds (gust) they're going to keep it closed. (The park doesn't want to do an emergency evacuation and of course they don't a PR nightmare either.). When the weather changes in an instant, so will their decision. That's why they open the queue and then all of a sudden call the opening off. Every other theme park chain does this too. Cedar Point in the middle if summer can sometimes be a nightmare due to weather. There were times when I worked the Rattler back in the day where we would open it and then 5 minutes later have to shut it down because of weather. In other news....look at this shot of BTR posted by Jeff Siebert on Facebook.

Nice pics man. Thanks for the update. The GP is totally eating up the "Batman-The Ride" theming. I'm curious to know what kind of renovations are going on at Road Runner Express. The park is gonna look even more amazing when BTR is done and all the landscaping is complete. I can't wait to see testing.

Just depends on what they're building. Iron Rattler construction started at the end of August 2012 to be ready by Memorial Day 2013. They're shooting for a Memorial Day 2015 opening date so they adjusted the construction schedule to meet their target opening date. Now could they have had it ready by opening weekend, yes. Why didn't they? Cause they want to build up anticipation early in the season and make people come back to ride it. The one thing I was surprised with is that Six Flags Mexico already opened Sky Screamer.

Next week is the main weekend for Spring Break for many San Antonio and south Texas schools. It's going to be pretty busy. I would recommend being at the park for opening. I never have done Flash pass in the past but it's something I would consider especially if most of the coasters are 1 train operations. Have fun and take pictures! We would like to see them posted.

Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans August 29, 2005. Aside from that did you really need to create a separate thread to make your statement? How is this a 10 year anniversary? it's Feb 25th 2015 now. . so still ~6months away. Don't quote me....I just corrected thatGuyfrom Tennesee's error on the date. LOL He had started a new thread "aka: Re: Six Flags New Orleans - 10 Years since Death." so a moderator combined the threads. In any case, the park needs to be torn down. -
I understand the dislike of it not having theming since bizzaro got it but I enjoy Scream itself as a ride. I've had my fill of the Scream theme debate though so now i try to ignore it. I wasn't talking about the theming between the two coasters, I was just wondering why Scream isn't as well liked as it's East coast counterpart when it's a mirror image of the original.
