  1. ^^ Thanks Jason ^ Thanks and yes, Plopsa Coo reminded me too of Gilroy Gardens. Quicksilver Express came to mind a few times when riding Coaster. Of course, all the green is also very comparable to G.G. In fact, that's a good description : Plopsa Coo is some sort of mix up Knoebels and Gilroy Gardens.
  2. The Tour de France passing in front of my door, it never happened before. I experienced the circus 6-7 years ago, when the Tour passed by the office where I work and it was quite impressive to see everything passing by. Armstrong, Contador, Shleck and co pass by in 10 seconds or so, but it takes several hours for the whole circus to pass by. Our plans were to leave on holiday already on July 3, but once I heared about the Tour and since this doesn't happen every year, we postponed our holiday by 1 day. Yes, most of you will think this is weird and silly, but it ended up to be a very good thing, since after we decided to postpone our holiday, the Club TPR day at De Efteling was announced. So because of the Tour, we were able to attend the Club TPR day. So July 4 ended up to be an extremely packed day for us. After lunch with TPR at De Efteling, we drove home for the Tour. On to the pictures. When we arrived at home, the publicity cars already started to pass by (and it was still about 2.5 hours before the cyclers would pass by) Not too many people yet. More publicity "Yes dear, my boss gave me a new company car. Nice uh ? " Batman was here. Somebody couldn't resist bringing a tribute to Eddy Merckx who apparently is 65 years old. My wife and neighbour decided to bring some chairs. It can't be long now. Much more people now. TV choppers. Getting excited now. "Where are they ???" This car always drives a few hundreds of metres in front of the first runners. And here they are. At the least the first 3 driving in front. And the rest of the group. Anybody recognizes somebody ? And that was that. Part 2 of the day finished. On to part 3.
  3. ^ Yeah, loving the construction theming.
  4. Black flowers - Channel Zero
  5. Hi Beeja, it was great to finally meet you. Great pictures. Too bad my daughther and I had to leave early. But who wants to miss the Tour de France passing in front of his home I'm still laughing with the fact that Peter thought I was going home to watch the Tour on TV See you soon.
  6. Great to read these 'inside' updates. About all the extra work and bonus things, having only been once on a TPR trip so far (but that will definitely change in the future), I can only comment on this from my own experience on the WCT last year. There were lots of surprises and bonusses, like the visit to the Jelly Belly factory : when this surprise visit was announced in the morning, I had my doubts that I would prefer to go to a factory while I could be at a themepark. But with all the morning and evening ERT combined with the Qbots, we had plenty of time to ride everything multiple times and the factory visit was really a very welcome break. And I still have some Jelly flops left Another bonus was the flowrider. Although I didn't ride it myself, I was really nice to watch people fall There were really lots of other surprises and bonusses but probably the biggest surprise was the evening visit to SFMM and bonus ERT on Goliath. That was one of the most exciting evenings of my life and it was so damn awesome to be that priviliged to be part of that. In fact the whole SFMM experience on the WCT trip must be one of the VIPiest things I have ever did. Thanks to R&E having nearly 5 hours ERT in total in about 25 hours time at one of the biggest parks in the world ..... If you think about that, it just too crazy for words (that is crazy in the best sense possible). R&E I'm sure your hard work is appreciated by everyone. Everyone who doesn't appreciate, is just plain dumb and stupid.
  7. Great report and pictures. Those front of line passes you got at Gardaland, can those passes be bought by everyone ? I don't find anything about it back on their website.
  8. No matter how they will load the train, floorless or not, where the second of that type B&M will be built, ... I'm excited for this new coaster and for Gardaland and it will make me having a coastertrip to Italy again.
  9. Landslide - Fleetwood Mac
  10. ^No worries Hans. I'm sure we'll be having plenty of ocassions to that in the future
  11. Hi Larry, I included some pictures of Plopsa Indoor Hasselt which you will be able to use for the parkindex in my TR : http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55537&start=10
  12. I also think this would be an excellent idea. Adding hotellinks, reports and pictures to the parkindex would be the most logical I would say.
  13. Damn, didn't know Monstre was open already. I drove by the park on Sunday. After watching the pov, I'm wondering whether the ride is so rough or is it because the person capturing the pov was a bit nervous ?
  14. Next update. July 4, 2010 : Club TPR day at De Efteling with ERT on Joris & De Draak and De Vliegende Hollander Meet up at the Efteling hotel lobby at 8 am. My oldest daughter joined me. De Efteling is really beautiful. Walking to ERT I love the empty parks during ERT. Joris & De Draak : both awesome rides. But first a ride on De Vliegende Hollander Time for George & the Dragon. Hurry up dad ! Great theming Hi Beeja Josh is ready to ride. Efteling & GCI people Both coasters are really great. We went for another ride on the flying dutchman We did not only have a boat to ourselves, we were the only 2 persons on the complete ride. We then headed to the other side of the park to have a headstart to the GP. Again, De Efteling is so beautiful. A lot of GP waiting to enter the park. Maze without people in it. The restaurant were we would have a grouplunch later on during the day. First non-ERT ride of the day. Non-ERT The park still empty. Holle Bolle Gijs Villa Volta Droomvlucht Construction of Ravelijn The rapids The guys were funny. Theming. Theming with an ATM machine inside. During ERT. During non-ERT (and it was a calm day at De Efteling) Time for lunch. And unfortunately, immediately after lunch, time to leave for my daugther and I because we had still other things planned that same day. More about that in the next updates.
  15. Great update Larry. I have a question though : it is not in your above report, but I noticed in the parkindex that the Time Voyagers ride is now a Spongebob 4D movie ? I can't believe they did that
  16. Hi Hans Awesome TR. It's been so long since I've been there. It is not too far from Plopsa Coevoorden I read somewhere ? So maybe I combine the 2 parks in 1 day soon.
  17. Four Horsemen - Metallica
  18. ^Thanks Beeja. Yes, my oldest daughter is getting too old for Plopsa Indoor. Normally, if there would have been a ride-op, she wouldn't be allowed to ride the electrical cars. She also wasn't allowed on the bumpercars for the first time. But since the park is included in our funcards, and as it was too hot to be outside, and indoorpark is an excellent place to be at. See you tomorrow
  19. Hi, I tried to look up the ports of call on the Princess website, but I'm not sure which cruise you're going to do. Is it the cruise calling at Helsinki, Stockholm, St Petersburg, Tallinn, Gdansk, Warnemunde and back to Copenhagen ? In Copenhagen, you have Tivoli Gardens. In Stockholm, Gröna Lund. In Helsinki, Linnanmäki. From Warnemunde, it is about 2 hours driving to Hamburg where Hansa Park and Heidi Park are nearby. Hope that helps.
  20. ^But your captions are the best Loving the updates. Qbot at Mirabilandia IS an improvement (it would be in any park). Movieland is great. But I've always wondered how do the manage to have all those characters in their park. Do they do that in an official way or do they just don't care about all the licenses and do whatever they want ? With Ispeed at Mirabilandia now, it's time for me to plan another Italy trip I think
  21. Weak - Skunk Anansie
  22. Yesterday we visited Plopsa Indoor, Hasselt, Belgium. Parking and entrance is included in our Plopsa funcards It was the first +30°C day of the year. So what better place than an indoor themepark in such temperatures Etrance hall Gert & Samson First we went outside before it would get too hot. De Vliegende Fietsen. Klimberg Verkeerspark My daughters love this attraction. Sponsored by Kuwait Back inside. Bootjes Vuurtoren Carrousel Slingermolen Piratenbaan Woeste Zee Kabouter Plop Playtree Ballenbad Glijbaan Eendjes Kikkers Botsauto's Show stage Bumba show Piet Piraat Shop Holland is very close Overviews Restaurant Rest in pieces.
