  1. Just discovered this thread. Those look like real crazy rides. Just watched a few other Calcinculo rides on youtube, and I just don't get it that obviously none of the people on it get seriously injured. The german/dutch/belgian waveswinger, that's one crazy ride too. It looks like some of the riders are going to fall of the ride.
  2. I really like this picture of my daughther ready to ride the Fantasticable.
  3. VERY cool !! I have a long way to go.
  4. Obsession - Aventura
  5. ^^ + ^ : It was indeed a great visit that day. The backstage tour was very, very cool. ^^ : I explored the park on my own that day. Didn't do Terminator & Black Lagoon, but I really had ample time to do all the other attractions, all the shops and I even spend the time after the Waterworld show and the departure of the bus, at the Universal shopping area outside of the park. And I didn't run all the time
  6. Great update Hans. Part Asterix is indeed very well themed. Too bad the park is most of the time packed with crowds. But it seems you were lucky during your visit. The antique cars must be the best themed antique cars ride in the world. Did you do the logflume ? That ride is my favorite logflume ride so far.
  7. Yeah, me too. For some reason, I think bungee jumping is too dangerous. On the Fantasticable, I felt perfectly safe though. Otherwise I wouldn't have allowed my daughter on it. The material they use is very professional and comfortable.
  8. I've been thinking about you Roxanne, when I read it in the newspapers. But good for you, you're still going to do the trip. And I hope, you will have the chance to do the concerts afterwards.
  9. Let's get it up - AC/DC
  10. ^ Pier 39 is indeed nice and from there you have a good view on Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. During our 'free' day before the WCT last year, we walked from there in the direction of the needle building and went for some shopping over there.
  11. POV shot by me on my first ride last year. On-ride Coastertube : [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=M2U00378_42wn[/coastertube] On-ride Youtube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oDlVe7v9TE
  12. Last weekend, we were spending a long weekend in the very south of Belgium, near the French border. At only 30 minutes driving, the Fantasticable at Haybes Fumay in France could be found. So what is a Fantasticable ? It's a cable and it is fantastic Watch following video, and you'll know what it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7IjXeo8m0k . There are several of those cables in 3 european countries : Portugal, Italy and France. More info on www.fantasticable.com/. The one we did is 1159 meters long, height difference 110 meters, and maximum speed 115 km/hour. I rode the Fantasticable in Fumay last year September for the first time, but couldn't wait to reride it. My 11 year old daughter was all ready to ride it aswell. On to the pictures and 1 POV video. We were staying in a very small place called Chairaire : there were no shops at all in the village. My brother in law didn't care about the stores. He started playing golf as soon as we arrived. We were staying in the first challet of the village, so the village name was written on the challet. It was quite a big challet. My daughter got a short initiation in golf. My drinks during dinner the first night. If it would have been upto me, we were riding the Fantasticable as soon as we arrived, but I had to wait till the third day before going to Fumay. In stead we want walking the second day. It was a nice walk though. Steep climbs .. Beautiful views. I had to read that place's name twice Finally Saturday and time for the Fantasticable. The parking is a the other side of the river. And you have to cross this bridge before entering the park The park in fact has 2 names : Terraltitude is I think the area name of the complete park. It's a 700 metres walk to the Aventure Parc. In summer you can ride the cable till 1 am. Besides the cable, there are lots of other things to do. There is even a bungeejump tower (of which I didn't get any pics) The Fantasticable, that's why we're here for. Aventure Parc : a lot of climbing courses. You can ride the cable if your weight is between 35 and 120 kgs. My daughter's weight is 37 kgs, so she was ready to ride. And really looking forward to it. Fully equipped. My brothers in law. Me My daughter's ready. The drive uphill is exciting too. Then it was our turn. It's quite high. My first brother in law all ready for the descend. And there he goes. My daughter getting attached to the cable. All set There she goes. The breaks. And she totally enjoyed it and wanted to go again. My turn. Here I'm attached to the cable already. The view from the starting point. And I'm off. Shouted hello to the lonely biker below. Nice views. Only once you're between the trees, you experience the speed you're going at. My family waiting for me. Me going down In the breaks We survived it once more. Parkmap
  13. Hi, the park is open daily between March 27 till November 7 november 2010, every day from 9 am to 6 pm. It can easily be found back on their website.
  14. Just registered for 3 persons : my daughter, myself and a very special guest.
  15. I'm in. Just have to check whether somebody will be joining me. Will be ordering my tickets tomorrow.

  18. I believe you that the schedule works well but probably since I'm not used to use public transport, your schedule is really bizar. You're zigzagging through Germany and Holland, and doing a LOT of extra miles. For example Toverland and WW are about 140 kms away from each other. but you're going up to Heidepark some 400 kms after Toverland and then going down again another 400 kms to WW. Then from Amsterdam you're going to EP which must be some 700 kms and then go back another 300 kms or something to Phantasialand. Ok, if the nighttrain goes to Offenburg and you will get a good night sleep on the train, and since your sister is living in Siegen, I can understand you're going to EP before Phantasialand. But I would be surprised if you can't find a better schedule for your first 3 parks, saving a lot of traveltime. But again, I'm not used to travel by train so I can be completely wrong in my assumptions. For Heidepark, they have an excellent hotelsection on their website and it's also in English. In any case, enjoy your Europe trip !!
  19. Curious to see what they will make of that. When we were there last year, the Sesame characters and merchandise was already everywhere in the park.
  20. Last time I went was August 2008, so still school summerholidays and similar crowds. Longest lines I've seen were 75 minutes for R'n'R and 90 minutes for SM2. But I've also seen rows of 15 to 20 minutes during the day. Best time for short lines on R'n'R is once the Moteurs show has started.
  21. Be prepared for large crowds early July. But still it will be enjoyable if you make use of the fastpass. Crush still doesn't have fastpass I heard (haven't been at DLP for the past 1.5 years), so rush to Crush at parkopening. And do the other rides with fastpasses. If you stay on site, make use of the magic hours. At the Disney park, ride Peter Pan first or at least get a fast pass for it first. The capacity of the ride is terrible and lines will be long the rest of the day. Autopia is also a very popular ride with low capacity and doesn't have fastpass. If you want to ride it, best moment will be at opening time. If the regular line for Space Mountain is max 20 minutes, use the regular line and don't waste a fastpass on that. For riding the other fastpass attractions, use the fastpass. For the parades, the best (least crowded) place is somewhere between the Pizza restaurant near It's a small world and the castle (so on the right handside behind the castle when you enter the park). If you want some pictures with characters but don't want to wait in line for it, go check out the lobby of the Disneyland hotel (entrance at the right of the gates when you arrive). Every day there is a small show with Disney characters, the last times I've been there at 4 pm (but check out the timetable leaflets you can will find on the counters of the lobby in case they changed the show time in the meanwhile). After there small show, there is ample time for pictures.
  22. Samson - Regina Spektor
  23. Too drunk to .... - Dead Kennedy's.
  24. Great report and pictures Hans. Glad to see Blue Fire's single riders line has been amended now.
  25. After my operation 3 weeks ago, I started running again on Saturday : a short test run of 5 kms. Yesterday I ran 16.1 kms (10 miles) : 1h21. Not too bad although the pace was over 5 minutes/km while my normal average pace is 4'50" per km.
