  1. I noticed someone guessed Kennywood (all KW fans would wish, and yes, they are getting a 2010 coaster) But looking at Google maps, KW looks like a match to me. Do I really think it... not sure. But we've seen parks do crazier things. Let me see if I can come up with some graphics to show you the similarities.
  2. I LOVE COFFEE! Coffee, espresso, caps, lattes, and machiottos. I'm VERY curious about "Blue Mountain Coffee" that a co-worker told me about last week. Told me it was awesomely good, but also awesomely expensive @ about $40 a pound! Anyone here ever drink it?
  3. I had 7-basic on my netbook, and liked it, so I just installed the upgrade at home from Vista Premium 64-bit to 7-64-bit. I had no problems with Vista until about 2 months ago when I got hit with the Windows Update Bug, that was impossible to fix. I'm thoroughly impressed with 7, and have been using it for about 2 hours now. The responsiveness, the new interface features, the ease of upgrading, all flawless. My upgrade took 1 hour and 50 minutes. It's so blazing fast compared to Vista on a 64-bit machine. All I can say is WOW!
  4. OMG it looks soooo cold there. I don't miss that one bit. Nice to see things "rolling" along.
  5. Dennis just sent you a gift: LOL, anyway, I love a fan page vs. a profile page you become friends with. With something as popular as this, you'd never get your "suggested friends" emptied! Kudos TPR!!!
  6. Netbooks are 1024x600. Here's a screen cap from my netbook. You have to scroll past this with EVERY screen except when you're posting. The old version allowed you to turn off the calendar.
  7. I feel exactly the same. LOVE the new board, but on the netbook, you have to scroll a lot to get to the messages every time you go to another page.
  8. I'm just wondering who bought it. Or if they just decided to store it.
  9. Cut off his peepee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a freak!
  10. Very Likely. I did it for 2 years. (17-18 years old.) As did my best friend at the same time. As far as hours, I worked all different kinds of hours. Sometimes I got off at 6PM, sometimes I got off at Midnight. I always volunteered for closing on the Friday/Saturday. I was a nerd. But I got the highest bonus at the end of the year in my department. It's a fun experience. Even though you pretty much give up your summer, it's something you will remember for life.
  11. Wow, what a hot topic! I guess I'll chime in and be on the "This is ridiculous" side. Going through the thread and seeing the misunderstanding of "boycotting", nobody would have to boycott the ride because nobody who would want to ride it can. (Well, except for Jeff.) This is just really stupid. (I know, I'm just repeating what everyone else said, it just feels really good to type it.) They mind as well just put a swing set there, and set the height requirement to 42". They would have saved a lot of money.
  12. The only good thing about Google Toolbar is the "translate" button, it at least makes it understandable...
  13. "i know a friend of a friend of a friend"... (Just kidding.... ) Love it when this thread is on the top of the forums. hehehehe When they obtained the land, Mary Lou herself went on PCN and made the ONLY statement back then, before the "expansion fiasco" later, that they had indeed obtained the land. A company can't say that unless the deal was final, otherwise, that's fraud. And to continue to state it during all the expansion reports, and then finally the sale to PR, why that would be fraud, especially against the new owners, and all the of old family owners. The only thing I can think of that would make people feel otherwise was the stipulation that if the expressway was built, THEN they would start the expansion. People translate it as "Then we'll buy the place". The average "Super Wal Mart" is 25 acres, and that K-mart is a FAR cry from that, and we're talking 43 acres. Sounds about right to me.
  14. Why does everyone keep saying this?!?! They've owned the land since 2006!
  15. Yes, at almost every coaster event since the 90's, the question would come up. Who ever was representing the park would give a standard answer "We don't want to be the babysitter of Duquesne High School."
  16. Oh, so you'd like to get rid of Pay-one-price as well, and go back to the old ticket system. It's the 80's all over again! People thought the park would get over-crowded with a POP admission. LOL Don't worry guys, KW, when it comes to trends, has always stood back and watched everyone else experiment before implementing something. Parks were doing Ride-all-day admissions 20 years before KW, and the same with season passes. Nothing is going to happen. Enjoy the perk instead of trying to predict gloom and doom! Besides, we enthusiasts will buy them all up before the general public can get their hands on them. Not to mention, the "details" aren't out yet, I bet there's an age restriction when passes can be used. (ie, under 18 must be accompanied by another pass-holding adult before 5pm during the school year.) KW has been working with and lucratively profiting from school districts for most of it's life, they are not about to screw that up by allowing kids to get passes to cut school!
  17. -The "You message has been posted" confirmation is kinda an extra step that isn't needed. And it also has an error. Viewed on a Win7 Netbook. You have a JS error, assuming it's the jump after "Your message has been posted" screen.
  18. Crist is looking to run for higher office, creating a new economic boom would look great on his resume. If this were happening anywhere else in the state, I don't think he'd show.
  19. I "suspect" they may have this covered, or at least a plan. Gov. Charlie Christ, OF ALL PEOPLE (Peeps in Florida would know...) will be at this press conference, as well as other local politicians. Can you say "Federal Stimulous Money for road projects"? When the Governer shows up, it's not something to overlook.
  20. When I lived in PGH until 1992, I would have paid this much. I went to the park twice a week. I think this price is actually cheap.
  21. Technical question: If I order this collection, would I be able to get the entire collection without the sticker-labels on this disks? (ei. are these pre-made and ready to ship?) I had an issue with Japanamania I ordered that had "dirt" under the stickers. (Centuries ago, I already made a copy that works, just didn't want to run into problems again.)
  22. I've only skimmed this thread, so I'll just state my opinion, and hopefully, I'm not repeating everyone else... I DO NOT smoke pot, but I DO THINK it should be legal. -it is no more harmful than alcohol, which is legal and kills WAY more people than pot. -More people abuse prescription drugs, deadly. It's impossible to OD on pot. -it has scientifically proven medicinal purpose. -Nobody gets robbed or shot over a joint. If anything, they might beg for a bag of chips or pizza. -If pot were served in bars instead of alcohol, you'd never see a bar fight. Instead, everyone would be making out in the dark corner in the back. "Hey, you looking at my girl? Wanna join me?" LOL -There are better people to arrest, like murderers, perverts, and crooked politicians. -Legal or not, people will always continue to smoke it. SAVE TAX DOLLARS spent in upholding marijuana laws and wasting valuable jail space. Unlike tobaco and alcohol, the government cannot make money from pot, since you can produce your own, and at a VERY high quality. (Hence, it's STILL not legal!) If it's legalized, everyone will just make their own, no tax revenue. All you need is a 5 gallon bucket and a sun lamp. To quote an article on the history a bit...
