  1. Heck, I'd buy a ticket online just to help preserve it.
  2. First, I'm UBER-impressed at Busch and Universals numbers, especially in the "chain ranking". Wow, who knew?!?!? But as it's mentioned a couple times in the thread, chains that have multiple parks in the same property inflate their numbers with give-aways, packages, etc. It would be nice to see this infographic clarify these numbers, I'm very curious.
  3. Not since the Steel Phantom have I watched a coaster's progress so closely. LOVE IT!
  4. I think that's an unfair statement to make. There are many different ways that "not responding" could be interpreted. I would seriously doubt that Intamin just flat out "ignored" the client. Being 3 weeks past the maximum implied inspection time frame is totally Knott's fault, and 100% of the blame should be on them. But I have to agree with nitrofan. Even if it wasn't Intamin "ignoring" a client, it takes them over 2 years to answer a simple safety question that was multiple choice with only 2 answers, and they still didn't answer it? Do they not know the product well enough that they couldn't answer it immediately, or that the manual was so confusing they had to do studies? Heck, Intamin just should have responded immediately with the "1 month" time frame, then everyone would have been covered. It's absurd.
  5. TAER IT DOWN! I know, I HAD to bring the meme back! Not a fan here, never was. I was a skeptic when they announced they were building it. Record breaking wood costers back then sucked, and this was no different.
  6. And I'll take back what I previously thought, this is turning out quite differently than Lagoon's "Wicked".
  7. Well, that I know, but I've never seen a ride bend THIS much before.
  8. Screamscape found this ditty of a video that I've never seen before. Apparently posted in 2006?!? I think Six Flags picked the wrong coaster to be revamping, this just doesn't look good. It's Rattler, and it's "swaying". Never heard of this before.
  9. OK, I smell a new TPR meme!
  10. Just an opinion.... Speaking of location, the one bad thing I see about this coaster's location: it's entrance is just steps from the park entrance/exit. This thing is going to have LINES, always, from the minute the park opens until it closes. For many, it will be people's first AND last ride during their visit. This thing may have longer lines than either Phantom ever did.
  11. Wow! I would assume the only reasons you would have to dismantle and x-ray a train would be either a derailment or a collision.
  12. ^Robb, Do an old-school wildcard search. (with quotes!) "*CS3*.*" Quotes give you only exact results... Asterisks are the wildcards either before or after "cs3" and for the file extention.
  13. I know someone that went to PCC. Let's just say he's seriously messed up and sees a therapist now.
  14. Was the first thing I noticed too. I was thinking this new track would place wheels in the precise place, like tubular steel coasters do. Maybe it won't have any give from side-to-side as a wood track, the bolts seem to be on the outsides of the rail, so the wheel would roll inside them. Totally confused.
  15. Wow, how sad. The one visit I had at IOA, and just about everything I found impressive is now gone! 5 years from now, the whole Harry Potter thing with be tired, and we'll all be saying "Ew, that's so 2010". LOL
  16. http://www.kpconnection.com/cu406.shtml New update is up at KPconnection, the latest shipment of track supports a cliff-hanger theory.
  17. OMG, people are finally talking about the actual time length of the ride. It's high, it's pretty, it's intense, we get it. But it's SHORT and uneventful! I'm totally not impressed. This is the kind of rid you are probably going to stand 3 hours in line for, and possibly grey/black-out on?!?!?!? But if all it's going to do is zig-zag, I can do the same thing on I-95 here in south Florida, where everyone has $100,000 cars. And go FASTER and be more thrilling! I'm with the minority, the OTHER Intimidator looks way better! Bash me now, and forever hold your pee!
  18. We really won't know till it's done. No bubbles bursted yet. Either way, it's gonna be a fun ride. I've said before, I know KW's history or exageration, but until we see it assembled, I'm still "with CoCo". LOL. I do agree that the 2nd cliff hanger would ruin the pace, but not the 1st one.
  19. But like I said, that doesn't mean its going to be a complete stop for a few seconds like on the dive machines. A brief pause could mean many things, and I don't think this is going to be anything like the dive machines. I disagree. The word "pause" doesn't mean "slow to a crawl", it means "temperarily stop". Though, I do see your point, and sometimes rides will say one thing and do another, but the technology is there to do exactly what it says, I have no reason to doubt it. I do think however, it will be really quick. Not a few secons like the dive machines, (Which we do agree on) but more like the stop on impulse coasters, very quick to startle you. Pretty much the same technology used here.
  20. Thanks DE! And @ East: It's in the press release at Kennywood.com
  21. If my memory serves me right, there's only one cliff-hanger after the initial launch. Is it posted somehwere that there is supposed to be a second one?
  22. Wicked is also made by Zierer, Sky Rocket is made by Premier. Correctamundo! But when you look at the history of design licensing, they're pretty much the same product, with only major differences in train/restraint designs. Hopefully Premier's will be much better.
