How much farther does one have to be? From ny From fla From IN Too bad you and your group had a bad experience but as you see people are on a whole liking the coaster. I feel if the general public gets off and runs back in line to ride again, which is what I observed when I was at carowinds this season, the ride is a success (and it wasnt just because if short lines ). I dont see that happening to borg hawk though lol. I mean hey, I love ga cyclone. Yeah its a tad bit rough but to me, it gives a great ride overall. Jarvis "Not a coaster expert or a fanboy (what a silly immature label ) but I know an overall good ride when I ride one..." Morant -

it wont rot the wood if its has cement footers...lots of wooden coasters with wooden supports are built over water... -
Holiday Park Discussion Thread
jarmor replied to devol4's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know, in my opinion, that holiday park has a stronger backbone to not let what people are speculating about on a message board get to them. In that case carowinds and islands of adventure (along with j.k. rowlings) would be crying their eyes out ! I think they would kinda figure the news media outlets were gonna take the store and run with it. I really dont think they have that much of a problem with it being discussed but it does give them a chance to get things straight. I mean paula from holiday world has an account here and she, when needs be, sets the record straight and its over and done. Im just glad no one died and hope the track wasnt destroyedas a result of the train stopping on it. -

nah I meant autotuner. A true artist doesnt need auto tune to sound good lol and they shun against people who get praised for their "singing abilities" when their voice is generated. Not saying people who use tools need them to make a good coaster but I just feel essence of the builder shows thru w/o tools. But it really balls down to layout which I pride myself on. I see alot of tooled coasters with really lack luster layouts. it seemed they put more focus on tooling out the coaster than the layout, besides if someone can get the g's in tact without tools they are a master builder to me. I am trying to be a master builder and im almost accomplished that. Once I get that then i'll tamper with tools... Ahhhh...Im impress with handbuilding! (you can see 4 of the ? inversions in this shot, sorry no lift hill included) As far as the shapes, They are a tool to assist but they dont generate the coaster. They are, to me, just a guideline. They dont generate the track for me and to be honest I dont really use those anymore except the circle one. Im more interested in custom scenery than tools for the coaster! -

My take on 305, Being that I really like intamin coasters I had been planning to get up to this thing for some time because frankly it seems very interesting. I was dreading and nervous it was gonna be like my SFGADV trip when I was eager to go and el toro was down. I dragged along my brother (more like he wanted to go badly with me) and we headed up to check it out. When we got to the park we headed right for intimidator. He's a big thrill seeker that hasnt really been to a real park lol. After reading alot on the net I really wanted to get a front seat and by luck, and me sweat talking the ride opt, we got it! The verdict of my first ride: I loved the first drop, didnt gray out (really as someone stated "blacking out" sounds deathly), I did feel the airtime (but I was really stapled in), tried to prepare myself for the turns but wasn't that successful, and the speed was awesome. My gripes: The OTSR, I dont care how you call them, straps...restraints...they have the same feel as traditional OTSR negatively effected the ride. They, to me, made a very very awesome intense ride less enjoyable due to being slammed into them. I read how some say they didnt get slammed at all but on my 2 rides I def was slammed and even chopped. Also the trim really hit those trains hard. My brothers reaction: "Ouch, those turns hurt my neck!" Suprisingly, to me, the airtime was the same on both intimidators as far as intensity. The only other similarities both coasters share, to me, are the red track and same design/theme/decal for the trains...in their respected coaster design. Yeah...He didnt really care for it too much lol... -

My first ride on Intimidator was average for me. But after I got on it again, and wasnt stapled in it I really enjoyed it very much. It was like I was literary standing up going over those hills, trims and all. I have never had a non trimed ride and I still got some really great rides on it. I would love to have a ride session with the folks who say it was just bleh to see if we feel the same thing because I find it wierd that it can give one group really good rides and another group less than average. -

I am kinda opposed to using them. I feel the way about them is like some artist feel about auto tune lol... -

I'm not sure conservative is the right word. Maybe complacent. I'd say the company has a rich history of innovation. IMO the only REALLY innovative concept that B&M has built was the Invert. Most other B&M projects are based off of something that's already been done by another manufacturer or the sit down concept. Stand ups and hypers were already established coaster-types when B&M came into the market and Vekoma came up with the flying coaster concept before B&M decided to. Dive Machines and Floorless coasters seem to be more of a sit down coaster with an extra gimmick added in. You could say that inverted coasters were based off of suspended coasters, but the two give different rides. Inverts seem to focus more on swooping drops and inversions while suspended coasters revolve around the swinging sensation. But then again, that's just me. What about dive loops, zero z rolls, Pretzel loops, can kinda say large vertical loops as far as new innovative inversions. I dont know if its been confirmed but I think vekoma and B&M were designing a flying concept at the same time but B&M took their time to perfect the design rather than to rush it out. The dive machines are a very notable example of being innovative. They managed to come up with a design true to their style with a train capable of supporting a 10 across load succesfully. A lot of thing B&M has done with the whole mechanics of things really changed the game in my opinion. Like intamin. They have been the launched experts for a while. While that has come with a price in some instances when it works, it works well. Intamin also has the laminte wooden coasters that are seemingly to be a huge hit with the crowds. But since this is about B&M coasters, I think they have been a little more innovative than what we see on the surface. -

Maybe one of you experience makers can form an aliance with me? And thanks guys for the info! "Up up and away!"...no wait, thats superman...right? Hummm... -

Ok, I need some help. Im having problems with controlling lateral g's with the flatspins im building. I dont really use tools so anyone have any pointers for me? Thats really the only thing holding back the release of batman generation next. Then after that I will keep up with the super hero theme, and "boy" (noticed I didnt say "man") this little hero packs a major punch! Not as "intimidating" as some coasters but still a little more "bizarre" than the normal. But I assure you its not as "mega" as most but its not all that "lite" on the thrill factor! -

Im my, and probably alot of experienced nolimits users, opinion pre fabs only are suited for one coaster style in nolimits, any B&M coaster. To me, any other coaster that gets built with prefabs shows no effort to be true to that coaster and it looks unpratical. -
[NL] The NEW Sky Snake!
jarmor replied to Rocket Rodder's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Well I checked it out... First I'll start with the name/theme. I personally dont think it fits the ride since snakes dont really spin. I think snakes that glide would work better as a flyer. Building wise, it was a little bumpy but thats ok because the spinning made that hardly unnoticable. Now the transport track before the lift wasnt all that needed if you ask me. As well as transport devices on an incline on the brake run. The excitement was there. It really picked up the pace towards the end. Overall its a good layout but needs some technical work and NO PRE FAB SUPPORTS!!! lol -
