  1. I guess by now you've notice that im what may be the "Resident PCar fanMAN!" Well today was the media day for the newly expanded Nick Central. Not really much to say except it was pretty cold and wet (the weather ) but that also gave time for non-stop ert on the flyers and the flying dutchmans revenge. The food was pretty darn good and every dish was themed after a nick character. The A-list celeb (other than me of course) was Meredith Baxter from "Family Ties". So here are the pics to enjoy! Didn't take many pictures due to the fact that my fingers were frozen! Thats all for now folks! Im sure with the weather yesterday, this isn't going to melt real soon. SpongeBob Square Coaster! Dora was there "exploring" the food area, and picking up a snack or two along the way...no wait, that was me!! Scott notice the camera so decided to "liven" up the shot! The "star" of the event was Meredith Baxter from the show "family Ties"...Im sure you guys remember it! Something about this coaster seems "Fairly Odd"... I think its neat how this attraction has the "Lazy Town" theme because you have to pedal (not really, but they are there) to keep them going. Which is basically the concept of the lazy town shows, to keep busy! Our "tour guide" for the afternoon What will Nick Central be with out the kids (ERT on the flyers for me!!) Waiting for the event is Scott Anderson (center), public relations PCar Benches which no one sat at....guess it was too wet Staging area where the event will take place. Top Gun sitting looking pretty lonely, but not for long... Sign welcoming us to the park!
  2. Super mario bro's 3 on super nintendo... Kinda out grew the game thing at an early age.....
  3. USMC P.T. Sweat shirt (OHH RAHH!!) Abercrombie track pants (red with white stripes) white hilfiger shoes and a head set (im at work)
  4. doesnt look like it to me...Hopefully SF realizes the joy of a custom layout. (But I bet it will be cloned next year at some other park...)
  5. Hey folks...This is just a thought but im sure everything isnt done with the trains. Besides if you look at the last car its not even attached to it yet. Im sure decals and logo's are going to be placed on it. I have been to paramount's carowinds 3 times and every time I go and think a ride is complete more themeing shows up on it so lets calm down and wait until the finish product comes out.....then we can complain!
  6. I would have to say scorcher also. very smooth, great layout and air for a stand-up coaster! Batman the ride is just a tad bit too rough now-a-day
  7. I was just kidding about the anti-snapping device lol lol. It has a real good speed to it that made snapping very easy! Another thing that was very noticable was the characters. They were soo animated (as if they weren't before). Today they were dancing and playing w/ the guest! I tip my hat to anyone who is a character in the park because we generally dont give them the credit they are owed (unless its a groping tiger )
  8. Today was filming for the B-roll for media day (wed) and also a dry run day. The best thing about it is that they invited the friends and family of the employees to participate in the dry run! All I have to say is PKI you better use the "voted best kids area" til the cows come home because I do forsee a change! I think the park is being slick dubbing nick central as a "kids area" With rides like the flume, scooby the flyers, rocket power and the flying dutchman's revenge (unbelievable ride im not gonna spoil it for you guys!). I think I have found my fav section of the park. I was able to learn how to "snap" on my first go 'round and I think im hooked! I think im gonna have to be scraped off of the flyers and flying dutchman! I really, REALLY want to thank the park for being so kind and open to us and let us "sample" the goods and give us all the latest. Even had a chance to talk to Dale Kaetzel who was very personable and wants us to "spread the word!" (which I am gonna do, trust me!". Natividad & Scott who are like our "fairly odd parents" always seems to come thru and renews all of our faith in carowinds and keeps the turnstiles turning!! They better becareful im gonna get use to comming to the park when its pratically empty!! But other than that it was a great day and a pretty large crowd for the 3 hours it was open to the public! Oh yeah, PKI thanks for the flyers and PCW thanks for the seastorm! This is the support for the new hyp...(**gets dragged away from the pc by some men in black...**) Just a shot of steal.....err BORG On location at bikini bottom! Attaching the anti-snapping device! Waiting to "blast off". Somebody brought an outfit. Lets hope for no wardrobe malfunction! The best regular (not counting the giant versions) flat going right now... lol lol The "oddest" coaster around! Paramount's Carowinds Presents the world's first afro-american them park attraction! For some reason I like this theming... Just a shot looking into phase I of nick central I think I spelled that right... All the themeing has been added... The ride before everything was added. On that day it was running and it was thought that, that was the top speed...boy was I wrong!
  9. How 'bout a movie themed theme park! I bet that would be cool!!
  10. ^^ **jarmor runs to get notepad to take notes on good videos** Jarvis "I hope you guys really like my video, it has sound all the way thru it!" Morant
  11. I contacted the tokyo bay hotel tokyu and they have english speaking staff. From what I can tell they seem to have the cheapest rates from looking at the website. Im now thinking about spending 2 nights at the disney resort then 2 nights at a place close to laqua and sega joypolis... Is there anyway to combine the 2 "going to japan" threads
  12. how about the hotel okura tokyo bay. it seems to be right across the street from the monorail station.... Jarvis "if I wasn't going alone I would be staying at the hilton, but just cant afford it by myself" Morant
  13. I dont think its gonna be awake for a while. The problem is that the parks own them and the problems its going thru is out of vekomas hands. So the park is stuck with rides that wont work. But its does looks nice just sitting there...
  14. I LOVE IT!! I go quite often being that its my home park. Everyone there is so personable and they love what they are doing! The rides are good and the themeing is pretty darn spiffy. The park is very structured and its never too crowded (well when I go. Paramount parks as a whole seem to be the park chain for the people by the people. Sure they do some things that may piss some off but in the end its for the better!
  15. ok you just completely lost me what is 250 squid...
  16. One more question for now! (im serious lol lol) I was planning on converting 500.00 USD to yen's. Do you think that would be enough to get by for the week? Im not a big souvineer (spl??) person.
  17. On the tokyo disney resort site i was looking at the tokyo bay hotel tokyu. i clicked on "stay" and from what I saw the rooms were pretty reasonable (like 100 something once it was converted). Im gonna start putting my planns together in about a month or so because im currently putting together my trips to ohio, va/md and fla! The guide you guys have is gonna become my bestfriend! Did you guys learn some japanese or was it possible to get around only knowing english? oh yeah and I opted to go to segaway (I think thats the right spelling) and laqua. Is it possible to do them both in one day?
  18. Hate to bring this back from the dead but I have a date set Sept 18-23, got a flight for like 1050.00 but having trouble reading the sites in japanese. Im really trying to get the hotel set up now. The hilton is out of the question because I dont think I wanna pay 300.00 plus per night when its only just me. Jarvis "im a banker but I dont own the bank!" Morant
  19. Ok I have a question. Im currently considering making DVD showcasing individual parks. My plan is to do a walk around while doing commentary behind the camera about the park like the history and facts then when im talking about a particular attraction im in front of the camera talking about the coaster. After I finish I film myself walking towards the entrance then it fades away into shots of the coaster (complimented by music) then shows an on-ride segment. I want each video to be about between 45-60 minutes long but that may be hard to pull off at some parks. Any suggestions about how I should pull things off. Im basically a one man crew and I do the parks primarily by myself...
  20. Im kinda leary about submitting simply because I just starting shooting lss than a week ago and only had a chance to film at one park and that was yesterday (not counting the construction tour at carowinds). I have put a 2:30 featurette of S:UF I think its pretty good but hey im not the judge...
  21. got a quick question....it wasnt really spelled out in the rules but can a video feature onride footage??
