  1. At the park today, just got to say, what has happened to this place? Trash all about, the smell of puke in more than one area, rides breaking down left and right, the once awesome shows....??? List goes on and on. This used to be one of the best six flags.
  2. ^ & ^^ thanks for the tips on the free parking, didn't utilize them though as pressed for time. Plan was 7 stops on friday; Bowcraft, Keansburg, I-play, Jenkison's, Casino, Gillian's and Playland Castaway Cove. Unfortunately the scattered t-storms ruined that. We stopped at Bowcraft (closed bc of scattered storms), Keansburg (closed bc of scattered storms), Iplay, jenkinson's and Casino (had to wait 2 hours for storm to go through then pass). On way To Gillian's at 8:30 about to pass AC, saw more lightning south over OC and decided to call it quits. Will now have to accomplish it again this friday. Hydrus is a great addition for the park. Nice small comapct coaster, good elements and people were eating it up. The pier looks good now and less crowded with rides then it was before. I wonder if they'll add more pier along the boardwalk for future additions? Daughter Klaire and my pop John, on right
  3. Great report so far. Good to see alot more people from Delaware and Philly involved. Certainly wasn't many when I first started.
  4. Ok locals and others who have been, best free parking is........????
  5. Was there Satutday. Looks like they are finished with the wood, just laying steel on the track. Not many working on it, though it was a Saturday. They did have a come-a-long strung up from the track to a bent, trying to straighten it??, but the cross ties for wood not in place yet on that. It could be possible it would be test ran by months end.
  6. Went Thursday 5/25 for my second third time this year, place was dead, then literally a ghost town after 3 when school groups left. Had the kids with me so no big rides but could see they were empty. Only 5 people on Toro at times. We marathoner the mine train for 15 consecutive times being only riders. Kids loved it, hope they don't get spoiled with the rerides. Easily a 50+ ride day. The second time I went was 5/11 and was dead then as well. Will mark these dates in calendar for next year for sure!! Midway back to frontier. Main games midway.
  7. Knoebels Wednesday, then great adventure with the kids thursday. At least parks are open now while I need to burn vacation hours since i get maxed out (use em or lose).
  8. Dock maint supervisor for building new ships (oil tankers and cantainer ships) in Philadelphia. I basically take care of 70 year old docks and equipment, launch the ships by flooding the docks among other things.
  9. Thanks for the TR, certainly one of my most wanted to get to parks, but may never be able to make. Glad you could go and share!
  10. Thank you Larry, will be using using this for advice this year! Sorry to get off track.
  11. Should've got a pic, but made a Alpaca burger last night. Delicious!!! Alpaca meat is so good! It's rare to find in US, but has anyone else tried it? It's healthier than all other meats.
  12. Was going to take my daughter tomorrow as well, she's under 54' so eliminates the big rides, now contemplating whether going or not as well.
  13. ^ saw your post. Book marked! Going to be a good summer! Thanks!
  14. They spent a lot of money rebuilding the pier especially to include this ride. It is not out of line with Jersey Shore park prices. I think it's worth double the price of a Wild Mouse. And that's why smart locals will take advantage of the Annual Easter Sale, 54 cents per ticket for tickets that never expire. You the man!! Nice find, I'll be getting this for sure!
  15. Finalized my plans for the summer trip, so my list in no particular order: Summer trip: Kemah Galveston Pleasure Pier SFOT Gatti's Pizza Joyland Wonderland Cliff's Western Playland Fiesta SeaWorld Texas Schlitterbahn ZDT's Others will include: SFA Hershey Adventure Park MD Keansburg Playland Castaway Cove Casino Pier SFGAdv Knoebels SFNE and maybe some others....it's nice having Friday's off in summer.

  18. I as well as my entire family thank you for the care package. You guys always go above and beyond and we are truly blessed to have you as friends. And a huge thanks to Kristen, you picked the right things to get them to smile! Thanks!
  19. Thanks, awfully nice you guys.
  20. Got robbed on Sunday afternoon. Can't sleep now, wife a wreck, kids nervous. Bastard turned a perfectly good household upside down. Have a very good gut feeling I know the perp, but really can't act on it. Cops say it's upgraded to a felony, but still no word from anyone there.
  21. This thread reminded me of another question long forgotten. I remember somewhere that you could actually spin the raft, i cant remember the park. I remember fighting for the spin to try and get the others wet under falls and other features. I've tried researching it and have found nothing. Anyone know of a rapids ride with a manual spinning raft or am i just going crazy in old age?
  22. While I'm not embarrassed at all about this hobby, I still just go about my own business while at parks. The thing that really irks me is that my friends, family, neighbors and co-workers all know my hobby is this along with the traveling that goes along with it. They know I find the cheapest prices for rental cars, hotels and park tickets, plus know that I know how to work a park to maximize the fun. You think they would ask me for advice but NO. No one has ever asked or question me on anything.
