  1. Awesome photos. The next gen. model for the Flying Dutchman looks like a cool concept, although I don't think it is going to work as smoothly as they are probably expecting. Is that Griffon CoasterDynamix model really fast when it goes along the circut? In the Coaster Crew podcast, it looked like it was going 50 mph throughout the whole ride. I really hope that one of those alien waterslides get built in the US, but I heard they cost something like $12 million. Mabye Disney will invest? The dinner in the sky concept sounds really cool, although I can't see one being put into an amusement park. Does anyone know why B&M took a Griffon car instead of a Shiekra car. Was it because of the ten across or Busch thought Sheikra needed all five of it's trains? I don't see the new PTC one bench trains selling very well. GCII's Millennium Flyers look better than them. I know MFs track better too, one of the reasons for so little retracking on GCI's.
  2. When you are in the skytower, on one side all you will see is wood galore for about 100 feet. It will be an awesome photo/video oppertunity. Rock On Cedar Fair
  3. CP usually increases or lowers their prices every year. I am just predicting that they will raise their prices even though they are not adding a huge ride to draw in the crowds.
  4. A few parks have announced new pricing this year and some are still waiting to annonce theirs. Some changes are Valleyfair in 2007 was $35.99 and in 2008 it will be $36.99 Worlds of Fun in 2007 was $37.95 and in 2008 it will be $38.99 Michigan's Adventure right now is around $25 and currently on it's website, you can buy discounted tickets for $22, but that ends on 12/31/07 and I am sure prices will increase a few dollars due to adding Thunderhawk. Cedar Point, Dorney, Kings Island, KD, Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, and Great America have yet to announce their pricing. Dorney, KD, CW, and Great America should all increase due to adding brand new rides. CP will increase because it is CP. Knott's is still at $41, but they are also an year-round park and the pricing will probably increase in the spring due to Pony Express opening. Geauga Lake's Wild Water Kingdom is $23.95 Platinum Passes are $150 at all CF parks now.
  5. No, they are still listed for sale on their website. No park has wanted to buy one in a while. GS was the last one built and that was in 1999. http://www.bolliger-mabillard.com/products/stand_en.aspx
  6. Great Photos, it looked like you had a fun time. For all of you who want to know what it will look like in the spring, I will give you a description as if I was guiding you on a tour around the park by an employee. If you look towards the center of the park, you will soon see two 80-100 foot vertical towers. These will make up Avatar Airbender, a stock model Intamin Half-Pipe. Next two Avatar, you will see another tower, although this one is only 60 feet tall. That is Splat-O-Sphere, a all new drop ride that will let you free fall about 25 feet before magnetic brakes will bring you to a halt. While you are looking up at the tower, you may notice orange roller coaster track whizzing by. That is Orange Streak, formally known as Pepsi Ripsaw Roller Coaster. Now, lets look at Ghost Blasters, the only ride in the park without a Nick Theme to it. You are probably asking yourself, why would they not change the theme of this ride. My answer to you is that Danny Phantom is a ghost, yet they already have a Danny Phantom ride that was formally known as the Screaming Yellow Eagle. You can't have two Danny Phantom rides within 1,000 feet of each other. By know you are probably distracted by that new roller coaster next to GB. That is the Spongebob Squarepant's Rock Bottom Plunge, an all new Euro Fighter from Gerstlauer, who also created our popular Fairly Odd Coaster, our spinning coaster. This unique ride has a 97 degree drop, making it the steepest in the world along with a select few other coasters. No, Hershey Park's new coaster for 08 is not the only new coaster with a 97 degree drop in the US. Anyways, SSRBP has a vertical lift along with 3 inversions, including a cutback, last seen on Drachen Fire at Busch Gardens Europe, who love to change their name as much as us. Accross the way from SSRBP is some kiddie bumper cars. These are also new and are located underneath Orange Streak's loading platform. I hope you enjoyed this mini-tour of Nick Universe and we hope to see you at the park this summer.
  7. Six Flags would be pissed if they did that. They would have to change Medusa's spiel to it being the 2nd biggest in Northern California.
  8. I have only been on 2 B&Ms and no Intamins(although Vortex at CGA is pretty close to an Intamin I would think) and no TOGOs, I still think that B&Ms would win. TOGOs kill people and I have only heard bad things about them(except a select few in Japan). The two Beemers I have been on are Mantis and Vortex at CGA. I thought Mantis was a great ride with minimal to no headbanging when I rode it last year. Vortex was a little rough, but if you stuck your head far enough out, it was a pretty smooth and forceful ride. Has anyone ever wondered if the first gen. B&M standups are rough because they have trains made by Intamin? If they replaced the trains, maybe the overall ride would be smoother and better.
  9. ^^That accually made me laugh so hard I almost threw up! I esspcially love the Six Flags Suxs and the !!!!1. Great job.
  10. Ripsaw is completely reinstalled and should be open this weekend or next week. More footers have gone up for Avatar. Shouldn;t be to long before everything starts to go vertical.
  11. It looks at lot longer than just over 3,100 fet. That looks more like a 4,000-4,500 ft layout, but looks sweet none-the less.
  12. This year, I got 8 Renegade rides in in about 30 minutes. Most ever, I am pretty sure is about 30 rides on Timberland Twister at Knott's Park at Nickelodeon's Universal Camp of Snoopy. It was the end of the night and there was no one there.
  13. Website is also up, but it is just a preview page. http://www.nickelodeonuniverse.com/ On a side note. Ripsaw is being reconstructed. New supports have been added for Ripsaw that will be head choppers on Avatar. It is supposed to reopen in a week or two. Ripsaw track being reinstalled.
  14. ^If they don't roll it on like Ninja at SFMM, they could have it done in early to mid December. So you might still be able to have your Midnight ride on it.
  15. It did look pretty sweet in red and white at Expo! http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2462773160064924833ukSmsc I agree with you. The red looks so much better that the black paint. I don't know why, but it does.
  16. It's about time they gave that some new paint! Boomerang could also use a new coat of paint. That ride has looked terrible for years. I know. When I was there with my aunt this summer she made a comment about how all the coasters were fading. Medusa is finally getting one. Kong could use a new one in a few years(not to bad now) and Boomerang needs a new paint job. But with Medusa getting one and the park building THBS, they will probably hold off on painting Boomerang another year. The question is: Will Medusa be open during Holiday in the Park. According to Screamscape, Roar and V2 are expected to have a little TLC and matinence during the event so the only two coasters open would be Kong and Boomerang.
  17. The deal already looks like it is in full swing. Medusa at SFDK is finally getting a new paint job. Next to Mid-course. Medusa Painting Next to Mid-Course. Medusa Painting
  18. How could does it get in Kentucky? Would Rumbler be able to make it back to the station if it is really cold?
  19. Isn't that CP's pov of the ride? Great Off- and On-ride Footage.
  20. I don't remember, but I was here before the forums. I just didn't sign up for 14 months for some reason. Great website though.
  21. I checked it out and it has a much better design than before. I like the videos and their timeline of projects they have done.
  22. Thank You. It worked.
  23. I am having a problem with my signatures showing up in my posts. Could someone tell me what is wrong? Thanks.
  24. I think Griffons Immelmann is 160' so I am guessing that this is aroun 155-160' also if the coaster is around 200' tall.
