Don't mean to bump this thread but in the FUNLines newsletter I recieved today, the park mentioned that Renegade had around 760,000 riders this past year. Not to bad for a Coaster that has a compacity of 850 when both trains are running. They also mentioned that the Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain called Renegade their favorite coaster of the entire US trip. Way to go Renegade. I'll see you on May 10th.

It is a Moser drop tower. But this is really a trip report thread. Knott's built and designed it. Cedar Fair took control of it when they bought Knott's in 1997.

I have been there 2 times alone this month, I now how many trees there are and how it looks. It may look like there aren't a lot of trees, but most haven't been removed. The center of the park wasn't a forest, it was an overly huge and out-of-place looking fountain. The park made the center better by adding 2 new rides.

I know, can you believe that Cedar Fair ran this park at one point, and there were more trees than there are at Valleyfair.

It looks alright, but now everything but Splat-O-Sphere that is sticking straight up is blue(Avatar, TT, Mighty Axe)

One of TT's colors will be blue as seen in the pic below. I think they could have left it the colors that is was. Old Colors-in the center back Blue somehow = Jimmy Nuetron

All the major rides will be done. The kiddie bumbercars and the new airplane ride still have to be installed.

Ripsaw is being takin apart again. Maybe it will be back open tomorrow. EDIT: Track going back up. EDIT

Looks like they are working tonight. More Painting The Crane was in place 10 minutes ago.

I think that because it will be so close to a midway, they wanted the drop to be out of reach from any human unless they somehow got into the ride area themself. It also makes for more room for the rest of the coaster.

Old Q-Bot: Go to ride/scan your little buddy/leave/come back later/ ride. New Q-Bot: Get Q-Bot: Walk outside the hut/sign up for 5 different rides without going to them/wait/go to ride/ride the ride. Basically, you don't have to go to the actual ride to scan your Q-Bot.

Looks great. I might just have to persuade my dad into taking me out there tomorrow. I want to see some of that newly painted orange parking garage.

Maybe they will add California in big letters on top of the sign. That sign really needs to be higher up in the air. When I was there this summer, we couldn't find the entrance. It is like right between the Yahoo! building and another tall building. It is actually funny to think that if I work at the Yahoo! HQ that after work, I could run out back and ride a coaster.

I think that if you count an impulse as a coaster, than half-pipes should be as well.

From Screamscape: Not so sure about the chicken but the upgrades for the Q-Bots sound great. I vote for Discovery Kingdom to get the Q-Bot for 09. Maybe Magic Mountain but attendance(IMO) needs to increase there before it happens.

It looks as though they are about to move the big yellow crane from Spongebob to Splat-O-Sphere. there is an opening by Spongebobs lift currently which would be the only place the crane could get out of.

Looty said that Splat-O-Sphere may be going up tonight so somebody had better watch the webcam.

Valleyfair is about 15-20 minutes from the mall.

This park was really fun when I visited and by adding a coaster would only make it better. Hopefully it is a low-cost GCI woodie.

Can you believe that we have gone from 24-50 pages within 2 weeks!!!!!!! That is more than half of what we did in 5 1/2 months! Can't wait for Splat-O-Sphere constuction to start. Ripsaw is going to have a thrilling helix now with Avatar and Splat within 5 feet of the track.
