  1. Hey, thanks! The image I attached to my post is the actual size. Each icon is 110 by 110. Robb, for the "featured video" wish list thingy, are you looking to have a Coastertube embed or a YouTube embed?
  2. Here's some icons I'm working on to include in my layout. Still preliminary of course. They would be laid out just like the corresponding words are now, keeping the site at the same horizontal resolution it's at now, which is 880px (not including the advertisements). Actual size.
  3. Two boys, eh? You're welcome.
  4. I have some great ideas. If there's no coding involved, I'll definitely give this a shot.
  5. QueerRudie and I were going back and forth in the chat, and he referred me to a picture of a Schwarzkopf-designed RARE CREDIT! It's translated as Great Russian Mountain, and it's located in the Wonder Island park in St. Petersburg, Russia. I did some searching on Youtube for on-ride videos of the ride, and I didn't find anything. So, I gave up and searched for the S&S Screaming Squirrel that's also in the park. Sure enough, I found some videos of Great Russian Mountain instead! Doesn't this look like an awesome ride? Front seat - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVUkKbhvAF4 Back seat - Front seat again, this time in 2011. Looks like it's being maintained well. It looks like it has the same kinds of track and trains as Venus at Space World, for those of you who have ridden that. Schwarzkopf didn't design very many coasters of this style, so it's definitely a RARE CREDIT!
  6. In reality, Cedar Fair killed the park, because they were the ones who decided to close it. All these factors had a huge part in its decline, but Cedar Fair pulled the plug.
  7. It's probably temporary until they get the lift constructed from the base to the first support.
  8. I'd say that the huge investment that Six Flags made in the late 1990s/early 2000s really sent the park spiraling downward. IMO, if they would have spread out the new attraction openings more, generating consistent buzz over a period of time instead of a lot of buzz immediately with a quick drop-off, it would have been better for them in the long run.
  9. The content is okay, since it's supposedly a free program. The creator has to PM us with his link so we can check it though, because he only has one post.
  10. Did someone send this guy a PM?
  11. I like talking about roller coasters more than I like talking about the strength of I-beams.
  12. Interesting. I think the reason why a lot of our members have a problem with our spelling and grammar standards is because a lot of them have "migrated" from other message boards that have lower standards, and expect that half-assing a post is okay because the moderators will take care of it and move on. Then they get angry at us for doing what we're supposed to do. It's another one of A.J.'s stupid assumptions, I know.
  13. Oh, definitely. I'm just in "blue sky thinking" mode, don't mind me. I still think it would be cool. Imagine if you picked to have a sporty suspension on your test car - the car would go faster through the curvy bit inside; but if it would go over a bumpy part, it would be really rough. Kind of like that. It would sort of maybe be a little bit of a learning experience too.
  14. Does this mean that each ride experience will be slightly different depending on the choices made in the "design" portion? That would be fantastically cool.
  15. It's in the Atari folder if you have the Triple Thrill Pack.
  16. I have to create a new login. Not interested.
  17. My new wallpaper! Using sprites and tiles from the New Super Mario Bros game for Nintendo DS as well as Photoshop, I created this neat wallpaper for fun. All sprites used are NOT mine, I do not take ownership of them, I just arranged them in a way I saw fit.
  18. The first update passed my personal check okay, but I never saw the second one. I'm all for more posting traffic to the games forum, but if it looks like crap and smells like crap, it's probably crap. EDIT: I've noticed that a lot of our younger and/or newer members reply to every single comment, then double-post with an update, and then act like we're the bad guys. That's why I reply to comments in the same post I make an update to my projects. That, and I actually take the time to make them look almost presentable.
  19. A word about pathways - I've decided to use invisible paths with ground textures. The reason for using these as opposed to terrain covers is because using terrain covers gets rid of shadows on the pathways. I'm creating this park with a goal to have the least amount of shadow loss possible. A word about theme - I'm not going with a single theme for the entire park. The park will be set up with two "large, compacted towns" at either end of the park. The south end is based around shyguy's Catfish Cove and Weber's Rustic Walls, while the north end is based around Vodhin's Vermont and Log Cabin themes. The small areas in between the two towns are mixed. Here is the Contraption plaza with the new pathways. I think they look great, and even though they are still tarmac pathways, they look a little more "natural". Here's the Sky Lift's south station. This will end up being one of, if not the most visually-stunning ride in the park. The Riverside Swing swings directly out over water in one direction and over queuing guests in the other. This is the dock for the River Run, a Jungle Cruise-esque slow boat ride that takes a wrong turn and sends riders through a wet and wild experience.
  20. I like it! The only thing negative (if you'd call it that) is that it looks like there's some weird banking going on in both of the big spirals. It might be intentional though, I have no idea.
  21. Build excitement in the Preview thread...that's what it's there for. I'll give you this one, but no more.
  22. Thank you everyone for your support. The Contraption's entrance plaza is now 95 percent finished. Buildings with a blue roof color are guest facilities, such as restrooms and information centers. This is the Contraption's overflow queue, themed to a dock. The restrooms glitch because of the walls. If anyone knows of an invisible restroom, let me know. Beauty shot. Is that a roller coaster in the background? I wonder what it could be... [/sarcasm] Same shot, but at night.
  23. I'm thinking about starting a Mario Kart 7 community...do any TPR members play this fun but maddening Nintendo 3DS game? It would be a fun way to get a group of seemingly un-related members together, much like the TPOrlando Group.
  24. A long, long while ago, I created my first major RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 park - which I called Wildwood Amusement Park. It was in a beautiful hilly setting, but it was your typical amusement park - roller coaster here, ride there, shop there. I had planned on expanding it based on RCT3's two expansions - Soaked and Wild - with the two extra parks named "Wildwood SOAKED!" and "WILD!wood" respectively. Well, those fell through, and I haven't touched the projects since. A couple of weeks ago, I got inspiration to reboot the Wildwood project using modern custom content - but to do things differently. I wanted a challenge. So, I decided to create a park based on my favorite kinds of attractions - water attractions. So, I'm creating a water park, with no slides. I call it Waterwood. Take a look. Keep in mind that most (if not all) shots for a while will be very rough and unfinished. This area is probably the most finished at this point. It's the entrance plaza for the "Contraption", a suspended top spin. As you can see, the suspended top spin is very wet. This is further promoted by the strategically-placed water cannons. Here's one of the stations for the "Sky Lift", a chairlift ride from the park's lowest point to its highest point. Here's the dock for the park's adventure flume ride, the "River Run".
  25. It should be noted (this is the biggest problem for people installing custom content) that in Vista and 7, RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 is located in the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
