  1. Def Leppard would be awesome to see live. My last concert was actually Warped Tour 7/22 at Merriweather in Columbia MD. This was my second year, even though the line up wasn't as good as last year's and on top of missing two bands for the third and second time, I still had an amazing day. Bands I saw this year: Motionless In White-They were ok I guess, I don't listen to them much. Of Mice & Men-Originally playing the same time as Attila (who's tour bus happen to break down so it was my third time missing them) so we checked this band out instead. OM&M put on an awesome show and the circle pit was great! A Skylit Drive-Never listened to this band before but my friends have and I see why. These guys were awesome and I was very shocked they played on smaller stage. Me and my friends and a few others tried getting a mosh pit going but it didn't last long. Yellowcard-I was very excited to see these guys as I used to listen to them when I was in middle school. They put on a great show and played all the songs I wanted to hear. Parkway Drive-Listened to these guys very little before Warped. But holy crap, this was probably one, if not the best bands I have ever seen in concert. Everyone was getting into it and it was nonstop jumping, moshing and crowdsurfing. There was even a guy in a wheelchair crowdsurfing and the band loved it! I also couldn't believe how many parents in their 30's and 40's down in the pit. You Australians have some great bands! Falling In Reverse-Never liked this band and I never will, especially their singer. But my friend wanted to see them so we saw half of their set and left. Anberlin-One of the last bands to play, wanted to see them perform "The Feel Good Drag" but we left to beat traffic. Overall it was another great day for Warped and I hope to make it to next year's as well.
  2. Our county fair is ten tims smaller than this one. We don't even have half the flats most fairs get andin fact the ride we used to have was the Zipper. But that hasn't been there in years... oh and don't bother coming to our county fair if you're a credit whore, you'd be very dissapointed. Great report, it actually reminds me of what a decent fair should be like.
  3. I like how the picture was a Togo stand-up in the middle of a field.
  4. That video kinda reminds me of a video I had (have?) from the early to mid 90's called "Here Comes a Roller Coaster". It started out as the host taking a nap in his office then waking up going down the first drop of Colossus (it's all in a dream sequence). Such an awesome video and I hope to find it again.
  5. Yes, AC is amazing in the back row, notably the first drop. I agree with this as well. To me I found Alpengeist more forceful in the front row than I did in the last row plus you have a much better view for both of these rides. Oh yeah and as a heads up Alpengeist's lift hill is very loud in the front row. For Loch Ness, I prefer the last car as it isn't as rough and is great going down the first drop.
  6. Does Poltergeist have the same launch as JJ?
  7. Agreed. I undrstand HP had to squeeze the ride in there somehow with very little room, but they could've at least added a small dip before the brake run.
  8. How do crowds normally look on Labor day? I usually avoid going to amusement parks on holidays due to crowds but my friend's job company is having a picnic there and he's inviting me. Even on weekends the park doesn't usually pull off big crowds but I'm just wondering if Labor day would be any different.
  9. This. Back in the day it used to be silent the whole way up but now it's gotten to the point where you wanna wear earplugs.
  10. I know it's pretty early but I'm planning a trip to Hershey Park sometime in October for "HP In the Dark". I haven't been to this park in ten years and the only credit I got was Trailblazer. First question is how are the crowds around that time of the year? Are there any particular weekends that would be a great time to go? Next question, any hotel recommendations? I'll probably stay for one night so nothing expensive but also nothing to cheap and run down (I've been to some very shady hotels lol). Last question, what are some great places to eat, both inside and outside the park? Thanks!
  11. Sheikra-BGT Griffon-BGW i305-KD Apollo's Chariot-BGW
  12. Ridden: Big Bad Wolf-One of my favorite rides ever. I only got to ride it three times during Howl-O-Scream of 05. Four years later when I visit the park again during HOS, it was SBNO waiting to get torn down. Two Face-It maybe just an Invertigo, but it was my first shuttle coaster. Haven't ridden: Drachen Fire-Out of all the rides that have bit the dust, this is on the top of my list of rides I wish I had the chance to experience. No matter how rough people claimed it was, the ride was beautiful an unique in many ways. Orient Express-Being a huge Arrow fan, this is another unique looking ride. One of the only few that had interlocking loops. Parks I never visited: Opryland-From what I've researched, it looked like one of the nicest parks in the country with a good line up of rides and entertainment. Now it's replace by a mall and resort..... Marshall Hall-An amusement park in MD that shut down a long time ago that my dad used to visit every summer as a kid. If this was still around, it would be the closest amusement park to me.
  13. That part of Hurler's queue used to be covered so the footers were there for the supports. I guess since Hurler doesn't have long lines anymore they got rid of it.
  14. Agreed. Wild One is fine the way it is. As for Roar, I never had a problem with the ride, its a bit rough but I've been on worse. The first drop is great too. However, would I be sad if it does get torn down, not really. If Six Flags can replace it with a better attraction that will grab attention and bring more guests to the park then more power to them. This park needs an original coaster.
  15. Rebel Yell's queue actually used to be a lot different when the park opened. I think Paramount was respeonsible for givng the ride those god awful queues thats there today. And yes I also agree how annoying it is to take that exit ramp.
  16. Agreed. I still liked CH, but it didn't live up to my expectations. The launch was fun and the S-turns after the MCBR was neat with the theming but other than that the ride was ''ok''. Maybe my expectations were to high.
  17. Before the renevations, Volcano was pretty bad. The loading platform where the airgates were located were so narrow you'd have to squeeze your way through a crowd of people in order to get to the other rows. The new station set up is much better.
  18. This I would love to see. The last time I rode Apollo's at night was during HOS, in the rain. One of the best rides I've had.
  19. Three words: Six Flags America Not really though. B&M: Apocalypse (SFA)-Just boring and painful... Intamin: Every Intamin I've been on I enjoyed so I'll just choose my least favorite S:ROS (SFA)-Fun ride but nowhere close to being as awesome as the other Intamins I've been on (i305, Bizarro). GCI: SFA almost made this list a third time with Roar...then I remembered Gwazi. The ride was very rough but that's not what made it the worst GCI for me. I don't know what it was but this ride felt like it was stuggling to keep pace while going through it's course.
  20. I really wish I could've ridden Bizarro during it's S:ROS days, so I can't really compare. I rode it last year when I went during Memorial day and I still thought it was a fantastic ride. The only thing I couldn't stand were the stupid headrests with the speakers which weren't even working. And for some reason I loved going up the lift hill and seeing the river below on the left.
  21. ^The train would probably be the best option.
  22. One of the best parts of Alpengeist is that there is barely ever a line for it. I also agree that Alpengeist is a very underrated roller coaster and nowhere I'd consider "rough".
  23. That ArrowBATic looks insane! I really wonder what other rides we would've seen if Arrow didn't go bankrupt.
  24. Another great update. I really need to go back and visit SFGAm as I haven't been since 2007 and missed a lot of credits besides Demon, Whizzer and American Eagle.
