  1. I knew ESPN was like this, but come on, it seems like it's getting worse. The STANLEY CUP was just won, and yet when I flip over they are showing baseball highlights (Yankees, who else), and talking about the NCAA investigating USC. Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant farts and all hell breaks loose.
  2. If any game is going to attract more fans to hockey, this would be the one. I'm happy for Patrick Kane, because of how much he wanted that gold medal. I am also ECSTATIC the Flyers don't get to hoist the Cup. When does next season start? lol At least July 1st is right around the corner.
  3. ^ Most stadiums do, but one or two parking structure(s) isn't/aren't nearly enough. Not to mention, I don't know about California laws, but I know you aren't allowed to tailgate in parking garages/structures in Pittsburgh.
  4. Cool pics! I'm surprised RWB is still standing. Thought it would have been scrapped by now...although if there was no buyer, then whey waste the money tearing it down? Pretty much just answered my own question.
  5. ^ I think more Immelmann's should be used. They are fun on Inverts and Dive coasters, but I'd like to see them on normal B&M floorless coasters, sit-downs, or maybe even flyers. I think it would be neat if when a coaster changes direction, it goes under instead of above the track. Sort of like how Maverick's zero-G roll was, only draw it out a bit more so it doesn't cut your head off.
  6. If you plan well, you can wait less for them. For example, swing by Millennium at maybe lunch time or dinner time, when everyone else is eating. The line could possibly go as far down as 15 or 30 minutes.
  7. About Voyage being rough... Yeah, Voyage is definitely an acquired taste. While I did think it was moderately rough when I rode it last year, I also thought it was damn good. It, along with Legend, gave an experience I had never encountered before on a coaster. I felt as if it was so intense and fast paced, that I had to actually *fight* the coaster, for a lack of a better way of putting it, instead of just going along for the ride...if that makes any sense.
  8. ^^ You do realize that Cedar Fair is in a "financial crisis" also, right? Besides, I could understand if it was constantly experiencing major downtime, and perhaps down for weeks at a time, but that's not the case at all. The crew has been doing an amazing job to keep it running efficiently this entire time.
  9. Nope, I don't see any either.
  10. ^ Yeah, I agree. With all they have done to that ride, it's amazing that there hasn't been any extended downtime whatsoever...hardly a "complete failure" (aka fiasco). Why would GADV get a 300' launched coaster when they have a 456' launched coaster? Doesn't make sense to me. GADV is a very well-rounded park when it comes to coasters, so it's hard to predict what they need and what will most likely be built next. In my opinion a smaller Intamin, like Maverick or Fahrenheit, would fit well in GADV.
  11. Batman is definitely more intense, to me. Also, yes, Kingda Ka is great fun!!!
  12. ^^ What's the difference how old it is? Only this year the 5th Intamin was built, so obviously the rumor wasn't going to come into fruition until that happened. At any rate, I do not think it is true anyway. If any deal was struck, I believe that it would have been for 3 Intamins in 4 years (MF, WT, TTD), and the rest were on their own investments that weren't part of a *insert number of rides here* in *insert number of years here* contract.
  13. Which picture are you talking about? Mind posting a link?
  14. ^ I think there is plenty of room at the front. Chaos will also most likely be taken out as well, plus there is the employee parking lot that can also be utilized right there. Cedar Point has gotten creative in the past, I know they can fit one practically anywhere they want. In my opinion, the front of the parks needs something new and intimidating like a Dive Coaster to tower over the entrance. I think it would be cool too if it dropped right over the midway so people can watch people's expressions as they dive. Regarding this, you can usually tell if it's Dive coaster track. I'm not going to break down every little detail, but basically Dive track is a lot bigger.
  15. I'm more of a thrill-seeker. I like parks like Cedar Point, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Six Flags Great Adventure, etc. I'm like Dick Kinzel in that I'll sacrifice theming for more track. One exception, however, is Universal Orlando, one of my favorite parks. I REALLY want to go back there. Don't get me wrong, I like theming and have nothing wrong with it, but I doubt I'll return to any Disney Park until I have kids.
  16. Already Happened First Park: Cedar Point First Coaster: Millennium Force Yet to Happen First New Credit: Many of possibilities. Motocoaster at Darien Lake, I305 in August, or even Sky Rocket at Kennywood. First New Park: Kings Dominion in August
  17. Exactly the coaster I was indirectly talking about.
  18. Keep in mind that tearing down a wooden coaster and building a new one in the same spot doesn't do much for the perspective of the general public. Most likely the majority of the GP will think it's still Mean Streak.
  19. ^ As do I! I have it as my 3rd wooden, behind El Toro and The Voyage. Awesome coaster!
  20. Sorry for bumping such an old thread, but there has been an update with this article written back in January that I just found. Key parts in bold: Also, the area has it's own website, including a blurb on the park. Blurb on the park.
  21. Mine is the doors shaped like Dr. Doom's face on Dr. Doom's Fearfall at IOA.
  22. Fair enough. I agree that a Dive Machine wouldn't significantly improve their collection, but that doesn't mean they aren't decent coasters. Also, they still have a great collection of coasters, where perhaps they can afford to add a "cookie-cutter B&M" just to make their collection a little more well-rounded. Eh, I don't know, I'm just rambling, lol. About Big Dipper, there was a rumor a year or two ago that it was coming to CP, but that fizzled out quickly and didn't really hold any water.
  23. Cool pics! I really liked Dorney Park when I went there 2 years ago. It's no Great Adventure, but still an underrated park with some quality rides, in my opinion. I'll have to get back out there to ride Demon Drop sometime!
  24. ^ & BigDipper So what should Cedar Point get next then, in your opinions (besides a modern wooden coaster, everyone knows they need one of those)? Considering steep drops are apparently evil.
  25. ^ They're big, intimidating to the GP, and overall fun coasters (at least to me, and the majority of the GP that ride them). I think one would be a good addition to Cedar Point. I, nor anyone else never said I/we *wanted* one, and that it's exactly what needs to be built, just that I *wouldn't mind* if they built one, and it would be a decent fit, in my opinion. Not to mention, I don't know about you, but steep drops are pretty thrilling and fun. You'd rather have a drop that gradually slopes down? To each his own I guess. A drop's a drop, in my opinion, steep or not. Cedar Point doesn't have a coaster that emphasizes and has the sole purpose of 90 degrees straight down. Millennium and Dragster focus on speed and height, Maverick's drop is too small to really get the full effect of beyond straight down, and Wicked Twister is a different 90 degree experience altogether.
