  1. In other news, Crosby has been cleared for off-ice workouts. http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/sports/penguins/s_740137.html?source=rss&feed=8 Also, less than a month until free agency starts! Can't wait!
  2. Sony's 'Welcome Back' promotion is now live! Go get your free games PS3 owners!
  3. A tad steep is right. I'm all for supporting CLP and visiting a time or two this summer, but really? $92.40 for a season pass when they're only open 3-4 days a week? How many people do they expect to actually buy one? I know I wouldn't want to invest that much money in a park that could easily just close down on a whim. Heck for that money I'd just buy one to Kennywood for $89.99. And who knows how many rides are going to consistently operate on a regular basis, besides Blue Streak and Devil's Den. My guess is not that many. In my opinion something around $50 max would be more reasonable.
  4. Yeah I saw that too, I even thought it was a person at first, lol. I'm not sure what it is.
  5. Millennium was one of the more consistent ones, but there was one point when I walked by later on where something was up, as there was no one in line at all and they weren't letting people in. It was eventually running again obviously, so it wasn't anything major. It was just one of those days.
  6. If they work...3 or 4 of those cannons didn't work and just ate my quarter.
  7. I was there yesterday (Sunday) and here are a few key points from the day (I know some things have been said already, I just want to reiterate them): -A lot of breakdowns. I don't think any major ride ran consistently throughout the day. Some of the rides I noticed were broken down at some point in the day include TTD (extended period of time), Millennium, Maverick (more than once), Magnum, Raptor, Skyhawk, Shoot the Rapids, Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Wildcat. -Neither Snake River Falls nor Thunder Canyon opened the entire day. It was fairly hot, too. -As someone said above, Windseeker was moving up and down the tower all day. -There was activity at MaXair, mechanics were working up top. -As someone said above, Ocean Motion is open. -Mantis is still giving kick-ass trimless rides. -Mean Streak's trims were definitely on full-force. It was slightly smoother than previous years, but overall still fairly jerky and rough. Still only 2 trains also. -Blue Streak's new trains make the ride a lot smoother and enjoyable. -Millennium Force is back to 3 trains now. I remember reading a TR last week saying one train hadn't been put back together yet. -Gemini was running both sides. -To answer a question above, every time I saw a STR boat, it was full. Overall it was still a decent day despite the breakdowns. More than once they significantly lengthened my wait times, but I still got to ride everything so it was more of just an annoyance if anything. The storms held off, and even though the midways seemed fairly crowded, the lines seemed fairly minimal, as I never had to wait in any switchbacks, except for Maverick.
  8. Agreed. It's always "funny," "stupid," "silly," "ridiculous," etc. until someone gets hurt. In the world of safety, there will always be the mumbles, grumbles, and/or laughs about an implemented policy, especially if no one has been hurt, but you never know when the next idiot willing to risk their life for a hat or phone is going to come along. I'm glad to see Six Flags taking a proactive safety approach, instead of reactive.
  9. Awesome update! Great to hear operations are better. I'll be there on Sunday and I was a little worried about that aspect. Can't wait!
  10. Yeah, agreed. I do like Ermac's second costume, though, that's badass. I also finally caved and bought LA Noire. I stopped at the local casino the other day and came out about $75 ahead, so I said why not.
  11. Right now the general consensus is that they *might* release them as DLC, but it sounds like they most likely will eventually. The developers have said that as long as the game is still being played, DLC will still be released. Also, I can't remember if it was Twitter or Facebook, but when announced that DLC is indeed in the works to be released soon, people were asking about the possible release of retro costumes. Their response was simply "ask and you shall receive." So it sounds promising.
  12. ^ I would also...Volcano is a far more unique experience than Alpengeist is, in my opinion.
  13. ^ I wish the Playstation store would come back up so I can get my free games! By the way, there isn't any DLC for Mortal Kombat yet, and it's still up in the air if the retro costumes will even be offered as DLC at all. Right now the only thing that's really confirmed is the new characters, Kenshi, Skarlet, and possibly Fujin...but they haven't been released yet, and the release date is still unknown.
  14. Maybe Kinzel wants to go out with a bang! 2012 will mark 9 years since Cedar Point has really built anything *big* (sure Maverick was a decently-sized scale project, but in my opinion 105 feet isn't exactly humongous). I've had a feeling the past few years that something has been brewing, and Cedar Point might be itching to "go big" again (hi Six Flags). Can't wait!
  15. Nope, the crews were pretty efficient actually (why would I lie after having been to KD only once, what do I care about KD's reputation?). I like nice scenery and ambiance as much as the next person, but the novelty wears off quickly for me, and after a while I just want to ride rides. Having only 4 average to above average coasters (that offer similar experiences to coasters in other parks), and a few more OK rides (not including DarKastle) doesn't justify paying almost double the price of KD, in my opinion (even with DarKastle). I think BGW is a great park, and seriously hope 2012 puts it on the map a bit more, but until then I'd prefer KD every time.
  16. In the defense of KD, I'm the opposite. I was done and bored with BGW after a couple hours when I went there, and don't necessarily have much of a desire to go back. Maybe eventually to get the Griffon credit, but am currently in no rush having ridden SheiKra (whereas I'm already planning to go back to KD in 2012 to ride the *updated* I305). I know as soon as I get off Griffon anyway I'll have the mindset of, "Okay, now what?" while wishing I was at KD, and also feeling disappointed for having spent $63.99 on a ticket. I almost ran out of time at KD because it took that long to accomplish everything I wanted to. This was an "everything is a walk-on" day also, I might add.
  17. Still debating on LA Noire. Everyone says it's great but I know as soon as I beat it I'll never play it again. What to do, what to do...
  18. ^ If not opening day then shortly after, yeah. I remember they stopped using the trims after that and it was giving some insanely kick-ass rides. Anyone who was there, are the trims still not being used, or are they back?
  19. Sony released a system update that will require users to change their password. Also, they have begun restoring PSN: They are going to restore services, starting with online multiplayer functionalty, by region. They have even provided a map that will supposedly light up as each state is restored. They have already begun restoring some states, and the entire country will be fully restored "in several hours." http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/...on-begins-now/ Also, a video statement from Kaz himself. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2011/...-announcement/ In the video he says a "welcome back package" will be offered to all users for being patient. Details will be "announced in the coming days."
  20. Wow, it looks incredibly foggy at CP today for opening day!
  21. Wow! That means it's been 5 years since I was there...I really need to get back to the Mountain!
