  1. When I was there about a month ago, on more than one occasion (both sides) I, along with the people I was with, were the only ones on the entire train. I went to the park three days and it was like this every day. If saving money were really that important, one would assume then would have been an opportune time to shut a side down, and not send out empty trains with one row filled.
  2. Not trying to be a jerk, but why don't you wait until........oh, I don't know.......August next year to ask this? This is one of two questions that really don't need asked anymore. It has been asked a million times about every park that someone could put together a spreadsheet for each parks operating days and estimated attendance. Quite frankly it is hard to judge from years past or even last weekend what it is gonna be like. The other question I hate is "What is the plan of attack" for _______ Park?" Just get up, go to the park, and ENJOY yourself. If it is crowded, be thankful....that is what keeps them going and adding new rides every year. And remember, please stand behind the yellow line. TPOL offers a crowd expectation estimate every year. While these are still 2011's, I doubt they will change much, if at all for next year. Besides, isn't CP supposed to be rumored to offer the Fast Lane system like at KI in 2012? If so then it won't matter what the crowds will be like.
  3. One more day! I seriously cannot wait until tomorrow. While I wait for UPS to deliver my BF3, I'm going to go pick up the other awesome game that comes out tomorrow, Dragonball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPpQ6Pc5fwU
  4. Penguins' Michalek is out 4-6 weeks with a broken finger. He's one of those players where you don't know what you have/had until you don't anymore. He's a HUGE part in their defensive play and will be missed. I have the utmost faith that Bylsma will adjust well for his absence, but it won't be an easy fix.
  5. Just an FYI for everyone to watch out and perhaps change their passwords. A few of my buddies were recently hacked this way. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/10/xbox-live-users-experiencing-hacked-accounts-fifa-11-and-12-purchases.ars http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2011/10/as-xbox-live-fifa-12-fraud-continues-microsofts-response-becomes-maddening.ars
  6. Or more like, thanks idiot people who insist on trying to be "funny" for their friends by letting coins go, or whatever they did.
  7. Good lord, now Tyler Kennedy has a concussion. It sickens me knowing how much more dominant and better this team would be if everyone were healthy...hell, even if only half of everyone hurt were healthy. I wouldn't doubt now if Winnipeg's first win comes against the Penguins tonight.
  8. In my opinion Millennium Force does have a bit of a rattle, yes, but it's not bad for an 11-year old ride.
  9. The forces have seemed consistent to me throughout the years. The rides I had this year felt the same as the rides I had in 2000 (and every other year), save for the increased rattle. I'm sure from a technical and/or operator's perspective 15 MPH is probably an incredibly drastic change, but when you're already going 93 MPH and the adrenalin is pumping, I doubt it's really that noticeable to anyone besides those operators who know the ride inside and out, let alone enough to warrant that the ride has "lost airtime over the years."
  10. How has Millennium "lost airtime" over the years? Does it not go the same speed as when it opened? Perhaps it SEEMS less intense in a perceptual sense because of all of the more intense rides built since 2000, but I doubt it has "lost airtime."
  11. I only rode it with trims also, and it was still totally kickass and had plenty of air...
  12. Regarding Potter, I'd say give it a few years so the novelty can wear off a bit, then the park might return to the way it was. Assuming they don't keep expanding that area. Reminds me of Cedar Point in 2003 when TTD was built, that's what the park was all about and where people mainly congregated all the time. Now it's just like any other ride. I'm not ashamed to admit I enjoyed all of the Harry Potter movies (never read the books) and that I do like the area, all things considered. Even so, it's still very difficult to enjoy that section because of how crowded and borderline annoying it is. I would recommend to anyone planning a visit mainly to see the Wizarding World, that you stay on-site and take advantage of the hour-early access. That's basically the only time I went to that area, because any time during the day it felt more like a chore.
  13. I saw it too. You can see the whole thing in the first ten seconds of the video above. Repeatedly? Hardly. If anything, Letang gave him ONE shove, but the puck was against the boards, and during board play where players are trying to hold their ground and create space there is a ton of pushing and shoving going on. Beagle immediately turned around and gave Letang a shot to the head, knocking his helmet off. It really isn't much more straight forward than that.
  14. Asham was doing his job. You don't take runs and shots at star players, like Beagle did with Letang, and get away with it unscathed. I don't think he really had a choice on whether to accept the fight or not. I want to know how much Beagle's jersey is going to sell for in that auction.
  15. Should be a good game, that's for sure. Still uncertain about Malkin's status, though.
  16. I've had it preorder for months. Sucks that it won't get here until around the 18th or so, but I guess that will give people more time to create awesome vinyls and tuning setups.
  17. Awesome pictures! I really enjoyed looking at this PTR!
  18. Twister was closed when I was there a few weeks ago for its seasonal refurbishment/maintenance. That indicates to me it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
  19. I enjoy looking back on these early construction updates when the ride is completed, or near completion. Even sometimes years down the road they are fun and neat to look at.
  20. ABW, you have your opinion and I have mine. You think Blue Streak is a good ride, and that's fine, I respect that. Just realize that not everyone is going to have the same views as you, and forcing your views on someone else with a "my way or the highway" approach isn't necessarily the way to go. Again, what do all of the other coasters at Cedar Point have to do with anything? The current discussion is/was about Blue Streak, so why would I post my view on Millennium Force or Mean Streak, and how would that affect Blue Streak in any way? Just because a park has one (or a few) terrible ride(s) doesn't mean other rides at the same park can't be overrated. It doesn't matter where Blue Streak is located, I would still have the same opinion regardless. I rate rides based on the ride they give, not based on how many overrated coasters that park currently has.
  21. ^ Yeah, I've always been surprised they didn't foresee teams taking advantage of that loophole when the CBA was agreed upon. I don't think it does. Not all GMs will make smart decisions regarding lengthy deals, but for the ones that do, they lock up their core talent which keeps them competitive. Players that are the face of a franchise, or have the potential to be, I would hope get locked up for many years so they have no chance of leaving.
  22. ^ You think that one's long, check out the Kovalchuk, Pronger, and Hossa deals...only to name a few. 8 years is normal for a player that's only 21 years old.
  23. Yes, overrated. I'm sorry I hit a nerve, but that's my opinion. All I hear on here and many other forums is how great the airtime is and such (i.e. HYPING it up...hence "overhyped" ), when I don't think it's more than just a middle-of-the-pack wooden coaster. I don't think it's terrible, but I certainly don't think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread like most people HYPE IT UP to be. Looking at your coaster count you have only ridden 9 wooden coasters, all average at best, so I can see why you think what you think (I would probably rate Blue Streak the highest out of those too). I'm nowhere near to having even a remotely large coaster count, but if you ever get the chance, definitely try out El Toro, Ravine Flyer II, Boulder Dash, Phoenix, Voyage (although maybe not so much now), etc. and you might just change your tune. Also, as someone else said, what does Mean Streak have to do with anything? It is not rated high or hyped up by many people. I have been on far worse wooden coasters than Mean Streak, and my opinion would be the same whether it existed or not...
  24. ^ Same. It has gotten much better with the new trains, but it's still 'meh' to me. Blue Streak is one of the most over-hyped and overrated rides in my book.
