  1. It has been known for some time now, but I forgot to post it. Skara Sommarland had a really good season this year. They were up 15% in attendance (303 000 guests), despite a 9 days shorter season (for a seasonal park that opens on the 6th of June, 9 days is a lot). The weather have been great this summer, which always plays a big role in the attendance of our Scandinavian sommerland's. The park has also stated that the new slide Big Drop attracted more people than excepted from audiences that Skara don't really cater to that well, thrill seekers. Hopefully we will see more thrilling additions in the future, but I have a feeling that were going to have to wait a few years to the next one, but who knows, they might surprise us.
  2. The slides will be made by Klarer.
  3. But the slides proposed in that submission are still unique, and very creative, so I would not be surprised if that's how they turn out.
  4. I highly doubt that. Most likely is a Funtime Star Flyer like was shown in the PDF thing. I would actually also guess on a giant frisbee. Ed said that the Quake ride is not coming back, but that it will be replace with something even more thrilling. However, the price suggested for the swing ride is only 1 million USD. A Huss giant frisbee will cost you around 3,5 million Euro, or 4,5 million USD.
  5. I'm so freaking excited that I can't sit down!
  6. This thing is big! And awesome! Can't wait for my first visit.
  7. The water park has soft opened! Looks totally awesome, if you are a family with smaller kids. Lots of pictures to be viewed here: Legoland Malaysia water park
  8. Yeah, the ride is 132 feet tall, there's not really anything small about it. Whatever the reason for the short trains it is not the size of the coaster. Much more likely the way it was designed or customer request.
  9. That have been in the cards for a few years now, the problem is that nobody want's to buy it.
  10. Interesting. My dad is in Hershey right now for the old car market (he's been going the same time every year for the last 10 years now). Hopefully it's not such a mud chaos, as it is the highlight of his year.
  11. It's possible, as they said construction would speed up again in September/October. Their Facebook is unusually dead now, but hopefully it's all going according to the plan, and they'll make an announcement soon.
  12. Juvelen was fantastic. I have never been so surprised by a coaster before. It's just what fun is all about.
  13. Train has arrived! The station is starting to look awesome. Source
  14. The pacing looks perfect! Unlike some other companies out there, Gerstlauer actually knows how to produce ejector airtime!
  15. Awesome news! Looks like a clone of the one at Splashtown. I much prefer the 360 degree helixes on Octopus racers, but still awesome!
  16. Another thing about Megalite's is that they require a lot of maintenance (surprise-surprise). Djurs Sommerland have 2 mechanics working full time with Piraten the entire off season. Besides taking it down into molecules, they also have to send away a lot of parts for professional x-ray. When the season is rolling and the ride operates it also requires a lot of maintenance to prevent break downs. For big parks like Kings Dominion and Hershey this really is not a problem, but for most small parks, who this ride is aimed for, it is a deal breaker. Nigloland is probably the most known example of this, they almost signed for one in late 2009, and now a very similar ride from Mack is being built. The chief mechanic at Djurs told me that they have had a lot of potential buyers coming and looking at Piraten, and they are all blown away after riding it, but not when they show them the numbers. It's no lie, however, that megalite's are freaking batshit insane rides though.
  17. I would be very surprised if it's a wooden coaster. Even without steel wheels those make a lot of noise, and people around this park does not appear to be very found of high noises.
  18. Both the Stockholm and the Malmö area need a water park (the later one being my dream in life to accomplish).
  19. I would be extremely surprised if the coaster have actually de-railed. Probably some equipment on the track coming loose and braking parts on the train and more equipment on the track.
  20. This park is also getting a pretty dope looking indoor/outdoor water park. It looks to be Proslide heaven! Source
  21. Awesome pictures! Really love the look of Spincycle, and hope for one over here in the future.
